I love this place! Been coming here for a few years now with my dog! The place is very accommodating and beautiful. The spa, gym and dining is excellent. Truly always an enjoyable stay!

We love to ski at June and we love to stay at the Double Eagle — the two best secrets in the Eastern Sierra. Cabins — awesome. If you can’t get a cabin, they have rooms also — also very nice. The staff is beyond helpful and nice and accommodating. The spa has a killer workout area, nice steam and sauna, coffee bar, indoor pool and hottub viewing the mountains. Kids love to ski during the day, come back and pool it in the late afternoon. The restaurant/bar is also very nice. I can’t say enough good about the people and the place, but don’t tell too many people, it’s already getting tough to get a room there.

We stayed for three nights in one of the two bedroom cabins. The checking process was fast and staff are friendly. Cabins are clean but old. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessities including utensils, dishes, cookware, microwave, coffee maker and so on. No dishwasher. Cabins are conveniently located 2 miles from the ski slopes. The spa and Jacuzzis are clean and well-maintained unfortunately there was no hot water in the shower for one of the nights. Due to the weather condition we had to leave one night early and the ski slopes were closed. They refunded our money for the night that we did not stay. Overall they are very accommodatingand I highly recommend this place

I’ve been to the spa twice in the last couple of months for a massage. Both times I’ve had Amanda. She is AH-mazing! Last massage my neck was really tense. She treated me with aromatherapy and I’m still relaxed! She really knows her stuff about aromatherapies and herbal remedies. If you really want to treat yourself, go get a massage from Amanda! Also. the gentleman at the front desk is super nice and helpful! Love this place…

One of the most beautiful, relaxing places I’ve been too. The cabins are so comfortable and pet friendly. They kept the firewood stocked, plenty of towels and made sure we had everything we needed daily. We stayed for one week and didn’t want to leave. Everyone there was very nice and the spa is incredible. Can’t wait to go back in the summer. Thanks Emily, Julia and the entire staff, especially the hardworking guys who brought the wood and kept the deck clear of snow to keep us safe for a memorable and wonderful stay!

I had the most amazing experience. Talk about a get away. Nobody will know unless you experience how great it is. This spa,(surreal spa), resteraunt, bar –I can go on and on. All the way to the owner«of this great place» to the bartenders, wait staff, relaxing and affording spa«messages«pool, Suana etc. I can say no more. Well a bit more –It is and was the most comforting real experience I have ever had. Check out the website to double eagle. Really such an experience. I felt like the whole property was perfectly built within the beautiful surrounding mountains. Thank u and I «will» be back.

Amazing place. We stayed in cabin 19, loved it. Well stocked with kitchen supplies. Staff was so friendly. The spa was great… coed Jacuzzi was nice, but also women only jacuzzi was so relaxing. Gym is fully equipped with every type of equipment. Rowing machine was favorite, decided to not do the zumba class, but looked fun. Restaurant was very good and beautiful views A+ service and atmosphere. We hiked Parker Lake which was suggested by Shana at front desk. She was helpful and genuinely nice. JLBrewery in town had some great beers and Hawaiian food truck in lot was so fresh and good. Now that we are back home we are craving her tacos. Wish work didnt get in the way otherwise we would have stayed at our cabin another few days. Truly loved it and needed it.. firewood is stocked right by front door in storage space. Very clean, well equipped kitchen, great staff, cabin was perfect. The Fall colors on the trees were amazing. Back of Parker lake you could stand in the tree cathedral and hear them shake… beautiful. Thank you June Lake for a great time away!!!

I live in Mammoth Lakes and have been going to Double Eagle since 2001. Their treatments are great, staff is wonderful especially Chris W. at the front desk. He’s been there awhile, still smiles and makes conversation easy, remembers your name! Makes a mean piña colada smoothie too. They’ve changed some treatments here but it’s always great. I got an aroma therapy massage by Natasha, awesome as always & Sabrina did a mani/pedi with great hand/feet massages! Thank you guys for a great day off!!!

We had our wedding at Double Eagle September 26th and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. We could not have picked a more perfect venue. We live in near by Mammoth Lakes and wanted our guests to see the beautiful area we live in. It can’t get more beautiful than Double Eagle. The grounds were beautiful and the cabins are very spacious for a cabin. The beds were very comfortable. We saw deer on the property both days we were there. The spa is very nice, and we were able to rent a nice big room to accomidate me and my 7 bridesmads for getting ready before the wedding. Allie and Darla did a fantastic job coordinating the wedding. Allie thought of everything that I had never stopped to think about and accomidated anything that I needed. She kept things moving smoothly and helped make my wedding wonderful. The ceremony was gorgeous and right on the pond and the reception deck looked great with the tent and lighting that Double Eagle provided. The food was amazing. We literally could not have a more perfect day thanks to the Double Eagle. We will defintiely be going back for stays in the future even though we live near by.

I just got married here on July 4th and couldn’t ask for anything better.. The view was great the cabin was comfy. The wedding was AMAZING. the only thing I could say bad was no cold beer in the spa. boo to that. But overall it was a fantastic wedding and couldn’t be happier with the location we picked.

I loved this cabin!!! It was very spacious with 2 rooms. One with a very, very comfortable king bed, and the other with cute little comfortable bunk beds. It has a full kitchen, living room, and a great fireplace! The location was perfect. We stayed here on our way to visit Yosemite and we couldn’t have picked a better resort. Just outside our cabin was a beautiful little stream with huge trees surrounding it. It’s perfect to sit on the deck and just relax and listen to nature. :) You will see some animals! No bear sightings this time, but we did see deer, raccoon and even bats haha. I would love to stay here again. It’s only a few minutes driving to beautiful June Lake, and about a 20 minute drive to the Yosemite entrance.

This place is weird and wonderful and the perks and the staff more than make up for the few oddities. We stayed her in April in one of the resort rooms overlooking Ron’s pond. We were there during the week and were treated to a blissfully quiet setting. The beds are comfortable, wifi was pretty good, and our room had a little gas fireplace that heated up the room well. The bathrooms were nicely updated. One of the room oddities is that they have upgraded in all the right places, but that meant that other upgrades like replacing an accordion door and upgrading flooring hadn’t been done. Really no complaints because the upgrades were made in all the places that really matter. All hotel guests have access to the spa facilities including a steam rooms and whirlpools in each locker room. I used these every day I was there. I also got the Signature Creekside Warm-Up as a spa treatment and really enjoyed it. The spa/fitness area have the Disney-esque, gold miner thing going(one of the odditities) but the complimentary access to these facilities, the towels, robes, and friendly staff more than make up for the creepy dummies that are part of the gold miner theme. We also decided to hit the yoga class and were treated to a private session as none of the other guests or locals showed up that day. Double Eagle is super convenient to wonderful hiking, close to Mammoth(the town of June Lake can be a little slow in the off season, so we grabbed a few meals in Mammoth instead), and a beautiful location. We can’t wait to plan another trip there.

Part Two of Two Bathroom: The master bedroom is separated by the large bathroom which includes a large multi shelf closing closet for toiletries/linens, large vanity mirror, fan, double light, openable window for venting with a modern, fully-functioning mini-blind and a nice selection of toiletries from the Double Eagle Spa Collection. The bathroom does have an overhead heather which was wonderful. My only complaint is the standard shower tub. I did miss the jacuzzi tub included in all the luxury rooms. I must confess that«cabin» does imply«roughing it» and perhaps a jacuzzi tub didn’t work with that motif. Other than that, it is a very nice spacious bathroom. Bedrooms: Both the Guest and Master bedrooms included a small closet for hanging clothing, a chest of drawers, locking window with modern-fully-functioning mini-blinds, night stands, electric alarm clocks, high end linens(not sure of the thread count, but I am guessing Sateen maybe Pima, better than 800… thank you for foregoing the«roughing-it» in this area). The bedspreads are the same high end linen material, lightweight, but nice and warm. A variety of pillows with different degrees of firmness were on the beds and extra blankets were in the armoire(reminded me of a cruise ship). Beds are fall-in-fall-asleep comfy. The master bedroom was a little larger and included a second large flatscreen television mounted on the wall. Okay, I just re-read this… there is nothing«roughing-it» about this cabin. Employees: One thing you notice when you stay for 5 days is that the employees at the Double Eagle wear many hats. The young lady at check-in was also the director of marketing who waited tables when the restaurant was busy. The Director of Housekeeping was seen unloading a truck, splitting logs, maintaining the property and, Francisco offered my 83 year old Father in Law a kindness that will never be forgotten. A gentleman working in the laundry also waited tables one evening. Shayna, the Yoga instructor(with a following) was managing a large party breakfast for a business group on a retreat and dinner for wedding party that had just arrived. Tracy, the property GM was seating guests, checking guests in, walking the property, waiting tables(and probably doing a dozen other things) during our stay. My long, drawn out point is there are no lazies here. Everyone multi-tasks. So if something doesn’t go just right on your first trip, be patient, talk to someone and give it a second try. WiFi: Not good. Difficult to sign in and stay signed in except very late at night. I have to admit there was a group on a business retreat and a wedding party at the DE during our stay which was most certainly a contributing factor, but we ran into this problem in the past. I still say, everyone has a cell phone, unless there are some crazy innkeeper laws in California which require hardline phones in rooms, throw out the phone system and invest the money in WiFi. It does work better in the large, spacious, comfy lobby… where those cookies are located… Restaurant: From the food to the service, it was all very good. Glad to see Dulce still there with Bridget and Alec being wonderful additions. Food was still great, though as I said in my previous review; This is the mountains — Costco is not next door and they can run out of things. We have simply made a habit of asking if they are out of anything before we order. Soups were great last trip, but exceptionally hearty and tasty this time. French toast on Hawaiian Bread… delicious! My Father In Law said the Pistachio Crusted Rack of Lamb was the best he had tasted in years. The couple who came in after us tried to order… they were out. Be patient, take a breath, this is life in the mountains. Other bits of information: DE is in the mountains and the power does go out. No one’s fault and nothing can be done. We found our clocks flashing almost daily. If you are on a deadline or flying out of Mammoth, be prepared to use the alarm on your phone or bring a battery operated clock. Not sure if wake up calls are available or not. Heat/Air: Like the luxury rooms, the cabins have heat, but no air conditioning, basically because it isn’t needed. The fan setting on the Central Air unit worked just fine in all the rooms and there are also ceiling fans. Dogs: Property is still ultra dog friendly. Our pup loves this place, we had a ball exploring with him on the many walking trails on this massive property. He enjoyed making new furry dog and people friends, but wasn’t sure what to do with the Mule deer that strolled right in front of him. Bottom line: We love this place and can’t wait to go back.

I was here with my boyfriend for a weekend. This is the best resort that i have stayed in. The comfort was stupendeous and the cabins are fully stocked to cook meals, cleaning and not to forget the awesome views from our balcony. The resort also had a spa place for a great relaxation time. They also had a fishing pond right next to the check in office. Great place!

Found the Double Eagle Resort and Spa on Tripadvisor because my husband and I wanted to get away before the craziness of the holidays. The resort was awesome. We got there before check in and was able to check into our room and then have lunch after a 6 hour drive. We stayed in a room that overlooked the frozen pond which was awesome. The only suggestion was that we had people staying above us and you could literally hear every step they took from morning until they went to bed. I would suggest reserving a cabin if that kind of thing bothers you. Our room was super cozy and spacious. Huge jacuzzi tub and separate stand in shower. Very large bathroom was great too. The room had a good size refrigerator and a little sink for a mini kitchen with coffee maker. The room had a fireplace too, but not wood burning, just a gas one. We did not end up using any of the amenities the resort offers because we were too busy exploring the area, however, next time we want to use the indoor pool and fitness center. We did enjoy our meals at the onsite restaurant, which worked out perfectly. The only thing that would have made it better would be room service! The food was tasty and moderately priced. We had excellent service at every meal we ate and felt very welcomed and at home. We definitely cannot wait to go back to the Double Eagle Resort but want to book a cabin for the wood burning fireplace and less noise from above.

Took My family on Thanksgiving weekend. 1 cabin 1 room. both where so comfortable. My daughter said she need the break and this was the place to unwind relax and enjoy swimming, hiking and sitting by the fireplace. I couldn’t keep my grand kids out of the pool. Plus we took our dogs, its so dog friendly. This was our 10th time going to Double Eagle, we love it. Had Thanksgiving in the restaurant right by the fireplace, enjoy the meal. But still miss my turkey cooking. Thank you Double Eagle

Double Eagle Resort & Spa is an awesome spot in the Eastern Sierras! Most non-skiing mountain resorts tend to be pretty hillbilly — not Double Eagle. The accomodations are very nice — well-maintained cabins/cottages, gorgeous location/property, a sweet indoor pool/spa along with a nice restaurant and bar area. While I have not stayed at the resort, I have hung out there, used the pool, ate at the restaurant and swilled booze at the bar — it’s all great! Next summer, I’m lining up to spend a week at the resort, but my experience is 5 star so far! 5 stars!

This is such a beautiful resort! I came to the Double Eagle for my friends’ wedding that was happening in Yosemite. The wedding party had a room block here. There are two types of accommodations: resort rooms(where I stayed) or cabins. I highly recommend the resort rooms unless you are here as a larger family, because the view isn’t as good. The resort property just endues relaxation and romance. The sound of lightly running water is all around from the creek to Ron’s Pond, the trees are lush, the sky blue, and the air is clean. I could stay there forever! Upon check in we received complimentary oatmeal cranberry COOKIES that were DELICIOUS! There is also free wifi, but it can be kind of spotty. The resort rooms all overlook Ron’s Pond. We had a GORGEOUSVIEW from our pretty PRIVATEBALCONY. The room was quite large and decorated with a log cabin feel. The king BEDWASSUPERCOMFORTABLE. The mattress and pillows were not too hard, not too soft. They were just right(haha, playing off that log cabin feel). Usually the bf wakes up in hotels with all kinds of neck and shoulder pain, but not here. The bathroom was also spacious with a large rain shower and separate SPATUB. We went to the Eagle’s Landing Restaurant for a group dinner after the wedding. We were put outdoors on the twinkle lit deck. It was pretty, but much too cold. The food was tasty though. We had a buffet with steak, salmon, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables. We also had breakfast there before departing. I had a waffle with eggs and bacon. Everything was COOKEDTOPERFECTION. I don’t think the wait staff is used to groups, because they seemed pretty overwhelmed. No big deal though. There isn’t a nook of the resort that didn’t have a special touch. I really wish I had had time to relax and enjoy the resort’s amenities, but we were delayed arriving by a fire on the 395 and then were out with wedding activities most of the time. I would definitely love to come back!

Of all the weekend trips we take from LA, this one will always be fondly remembered as one of the best. We had a lower level resort room that allowed dogs. We had the whole building to ourselves, which was fantastic. I found the room and the bathroom to be very large and clean. My husband and I both had massages that were incredible. The service we received in the restaurant, the spa and the front desk was very accommodating. We enjoyed the tranquility of our surrounds and the fact that there were hardly any other guests. Light snow flurries and the melting snow resulting in waterfalls was a beautiful contrast to the heat wave in LA. We look forward to returning.
