I’ve dealt with seaside pools now for approximately 10 years. I’ve bought three hot tubs from them over the years. I have to say the hot tub’s are a decent price. my main problem is the service department. I had a hot tub hit by lightning two years ago and called Seaside to come repair it. Since they were the only company in the area that serviced that brand my choices were limited. It took 16 phone calls and six months before the repair was completed. This is not an exaggeration. They came out three times to check out the hot tub and figure out what part it needed. After a month would go by, I would call and they would not have a record of the service call. This happened twice before they ordered the part. After three more months went by I called them to see when they were coming and they asked me if I still wanted the part??? After another month the part finally came in and they called me again and asked me if I still wanted the repair done!!! In all it took six months and 16 documented phone calls to get the repair completed. I documented the calls because the only other company to service that Brand was out of Kansas City. And since my whole house got hit by lightning the hot tub repair was covered by insurance. I had to document every call in case I had to have the repair done by the Kansas City company and the insurance to pay for that service call. I had another hot tub that I purchased from them at the guesthouse that I own. I called three times for a repair man. After the first time they came out I called them back a week later because I did not know anyone was out. They advised that he could not move the hot tub to look inside of it and they would have to send five guys to move it. Myself and my 12-year-old son moved the hot tub and took the cover off and we called them back. They came out and checked it out and then we did receive a phone call. They said it was wired incorrectly and they could not work on it. This hot tub had been wired the same and in the same place for 10 years. I than received a bill from them for $ 139.61. This was a $ 95 labor charge and a $ 32.50 service call charge and a $ 12.11 for taxes. Since they did not perform any labor by thier own admission I only sent them back a check for $ 32.50 along with a letter. I also subtracted the taxes since this was a service charge and Missouri does not pay taxes on services and neither does Arkansas if there was not a part brought in from Arkansas. They sent my check back along with a letter that they had billed me correctly and when we set up the call they explained their charges over the phone. At no time did they explain that there was a labor charge and the service charge. In fact we called under another name for another service call to a different address and they still did not advise about extra charges even when we asked what the charges were. We were told over the phone that it was just a service call charge.(We did cancel the service call). This was my personal experience with them over the last 10 years, again the prices are good for the products and the products are good but beware if you need any kind of service.
