Pacific Rim

I would avoid this place if you can. I have been here twice (I didn’t remember until I drove up). The food on the buffet, at 8PM on a Saturday night, was lukewarm and really looked unappetizing. I found the flavor adequate. I was served a cup of tea which was lukewarm water with a tea bag floating and no saucer. No pot, no service to get a refill. And $ 2.50!
The place is interesting in its architecture and décor. Very nice looking from the outside, it is laid out strangely on the inside with the kitchen in the middle splitting the dining room and a bar on the other side. Whether it was the lack of patrons, or the lack of service, it was not inviting.

Fresh Mongolian is great but would love to see a more diverse menu. The buffet is decent. All around a safe bet for a quick meal.

I do NOT recommend their sushi, after many tries it just is not for me (stick to nearby Ichiban or Han the Sushi Man, both on 32^nd, or Japanese options north on Range Line). Pacific Rim is really lacking flavor and pizzazz on the sushi tip. With that disclaimer out of the way… Pacific Rim has an amazing Chinese buffet at an affordable price. So much cleaner and fresher tasting food than other buffet options locally. Good service and always welcoming no matter how busy they are. Prices are a little higher at night and on weekends but still VERY affordable and the décor and ambience are much better than one might expect for a buffet restaurant. Don’t miss their Mongolian BBQ which is included in the price of buffet. Delicious! They have salad and fruit that is more than just a sad afterthought, too, which is always nice to round out a meal so heavy in fried, battered foods.

The selection was not very big and the food was slightly greasy but as far as Chinese buffets in the joplin area it’s probably one of the top 3 in the area

Food was luke warm, no filling in the crab Rangoon, beef pepper steak tasted like beef jerky, chicken was dry, rice was over cooked, everything was mislabeled at the buffet and the «sushi» was chicken, beef, or imitation crab. The wait staff was very friendly and it’s nice inside, but do yourself a favor and just spend your $ 8.45 somewhere else.

It’s a simple Chinese buffet. Limited selections compared to other area Chinese places, but the staples are all there and the price is unbeatable. And with the Mongolian grill included, I’d say best bang for your buck too. The inside is clean, the service was nice. I’ll be back fore sure!

Very good. Buffet has a number of unique selections. Everything we had off the buffet was very good. Also have a Mongolian grill that comes with the buffet that was excellent. If we lived here this would definitely be our Asia restaurant of choice.

AWESOME! The price is right at this place for adults and children! The buffet is sure to appeal to anyone eating here, even our picky son. The Mongolian grill is the best. The noodles, beef and mushrooms all come out cooked tender and delicious! Dessert is ice cream only. The salad bar is fresh. Some food you can get on the buffet includes general tso’s chicken, teriyaki chicken, jalapeño chicken, chicken w/​mushrooms, crystal shrimp, noodles, chow mei fun, crab rangoon, spring rolls, egg rolls, fried and baked fish, potatoes, beef and broccoli, frog legs, spare ribs, fried okra and soups. $ 8.45 for adults, .99 for children 2 – 3, $ 1.85 per drink. They also have a sushi bar and full drink bar, if you’re into that. Nice big parking lot, friendly wait staff-​chef is too-​clean bathrooms and utensils w/​cloth napkins (paper napkins upon request). They also have a drive-​thru for take-​out. Good for large groups or a nice romantic evening out. You can dress casual, but this place is so nice, it’s better if you dress up a little. Enjoyable experience every time we’ve been here! We’ll come here more often!

The food here is pretty good. I enjoyed the ribs and spicy frog legs. For the price of $ 9, you can’t beat it. I would go back if I lived here.
