Guess I might have set my expectations a little high but in the end I was disappointed. The wings were cooked perfect but the dry rub flavor just wasn’t there. And though the staff was friendly it took almost an hour for our wings and a sandwich. Just wish I had the experience that all my family and friends had talked about.

I moved from Dallas to Joplin, MO for a few years and hacketts still remains #1 on my list for wing places! The Caribbean jerk is my All time favorite! From wings from Kansas City, to all over north Texas. My hear was broken having to move back to Dallas because these were the best wings ever in life! I really wish they would expand! We came on Christmas Eve. The waitress was very nice but not very knowledgable about the menu. We waited about an hour for our food to come out. At the end the Internet service went down and they could not take our card. One person that came to the table was very rude. The food was good but not good enough to make me want to try it again. Joplin’s downtown area is really nice. I’m glad there are other amazing restaurants to chose from. Saw Mill BBQ is one of them

Great wings! I had the bone-in traditional wings with the hot sauce. It was just right – spicy but not so hot it covered the great flavor. The wings were crispy and delicious. Very friendly folks and I’m not surprised they’ve won so many awards.

Good food, got the Hot-Honey chicken chunks. I would have liked if they had more breading, but I love crispy wings. They were the right amount of spicy with sweet. Food took awhile to get to out table but that is understandable since it’s made fresh. Guy at the counter was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Good place! Will visit again.

I came to Joplin to visit my sister, niece, and brother-in-law. We chose to eat out for only one meal and they had given me several options to choose from and I am VERY happy that I chose Hacketts I had been craving wings for a while and was really looking forward to it! We walked in and I loved the feel of the place. It was definitely small town and the employees at the walk up counter were helpful and kind. We sat down and waited for our food, not too long of a wait. We ordered fried okra, French fries, hot and honey wings and then the greek wings. The food came out and OHMYGOODNESS it was amazing. I am not a huge fan of dry rub wings but these were absolutely amazing. The hot and honey were spicy enough and the seasoning on the fries was to die for! I cannot wait to take my next trip and go back!

I’m not really a chicken wing person, but I think thats probably because no one else makes it as good as Hacketts. I need to come through Joplin for business on occasion, and this is easily the highlight of my trip, every time. Cajun or Jerk dry rubs are amazing.(!!!)

Come here for an amazing collection of both dry rub and sauce based wings. I have had a lot of wings a lot of places, and this is one of my all-time favorites. I first stopped by here on a trip heading back to Oklahoma from St. Louis, and earlier this summer our family went back again when we were on another trip. Absolutely amazing, some of the best wings! If you can, definitely come here and enjoy the wings!

This has turned into my absolute FAVORITE wing place. I’m from STL so I don’t get a chance to make it out that much but every time I travel through it is a MUST! They’re dry rub wings are insanely amazing(can’t go wrong with a flavor). Try the fried Dill Pickles with some ranch.

By far my favorite wing place! Homemade sauces cannot be beat and the wings and fried okra always keep me coming back. I recommend the Hot & Honey sauce(with a little ranch on the side if you’re a spice wimp like me)! Call ahead for pick up or eat in but be prepared to wait, especially in peak dinner hours. Everything is made fresh so it takes a little time but definitely worth the wait!

Great wings from Rude People Wings are very good but the African American girl that works the front counter does not care how customers feel while in the restaurant. She should be fired but unfortunately… She is the owner. My experience started by me walking up to the counter and having her pull her oatmeal bowl she left on the counter saying«I was all in her oatmeal». REALLY? Eating oatmeal at the counter??? Nice way to be greeted… She had«The People’s Court» on the TV turned up wayyy loud. I asked if she could turn it down or off and she said«no». I then went to go up to go upstairs as I didn’t want to listen to the people’s court and she says«upstairs is closed… Can’t you see the light is off». Rude comment again… I would have turned around and left then but my coworker wanted to eat there. About 5 minutes later, she turned the TV down. I go to restaurants and pay happily and expect to be treated with respect. This gal is truly lacking that quality and it shows. Wings are good… Server/order taker has a lot to be improved upon

Oh Hackett Hot wings, how I love thee so! I’m not even a big fan of chicken wings in general, but oh my gosh these wings are amazing! I prefer the dry rubs myself. The skin is just so crispy and delicious. I recommend trying the Jerk chicken(one of the dry rubs), it is by far my favorite. Very flavorful and kind of sweet as well. Greek is also another dry rub that is really good. If you prefer the wet saucy wings then try the honey, or if you want a little spice the hot and honey are good too. Season fries are yummy and the sweet tea is great(VERY sweet). They also have some other interesting sides that I want to try soon, like fried green beans. The atmosphere is awesome and I absolutely love the exposed brick and all the neat character that this place has! I HIGHLY recommend Hackett’s to anyone and everyone. You wont be sorry you tried them!

While the other people at my table had very choice things to say about our dinner here, I very much enjoyed it. We were not even planning on coming here, and I think my fiances grandmother thought this was Buffalo Wild Wings when we started talking about it, but when we pulled in all comparisons were laid to rest. Instead of being bombarded by crazy jersey wearing men with beer breath(and farts), we were greeted with gas lanterns, exposed brick, and quiet seating. The menu is very simple(think Chicken), the options are easy to understand, and the prices seem very reasonable. We each got something different, and after ordering we went down and found a booth next to the windows to enjoy some conversation. A short(for me at least) while later they started bringing the food out to our table. At this point we noticed that there were roughly 20 people in line waiting for take out, to order, etc. We had no idea that this place was so popular until we dug in. The wings are AMAZING. They are perfectly seared on the outside and cooked just right, sauced with just the right amount, and are served up with your choice of veggies and ranch/bleu to dip. After cramming 10 of the biggest wings I’ve ever had in, I seriously could not eat anymore… I was in absolute wing heaven and will have to find a way to ship some of that Sweet/Hot Sauce back to Minnesota! Next time we are in Joplin we are absolutely coming back here!

When I visit Joplin it is always difficult to fulfill my foodie fantasies(except you Mom… you are the best chef in town!). So I was pleasantly surprised by Hackett’s. I remember the old location when I lived in town but never made it there. The new downtown location has a nice vibe. Although I am not keen on the ordering system. It’s such a narrow space that people are dodging one another to get to the counter to order food, pick up food, refill drinks. As for the wings… yum!!! These are not the wings that barely have any meat on them. They are juicy. They are drenched in sauce! We had a honey and a mild. Deeeee-lish! I am excited to make a return trip and have a dry rub on the wings instead. I keep hearing you won’t go back to the wet. We shall see! Thanks, Hackett’s, for providing me with a place that isn’t a chain restaurant!

Owners are on site which helps ensure high quality service and food. She helped guide us through the menu and suggestions were right on. They make their own sauces and dry rubs so you are in for a unique taste experience. Really liked the Jerk and Hot & Honey. The dry wings were a favorite. Seemed like wings were on the small side or we were really hungry because we ripped through 50 like nothing. I noticed that the locals usually ordered about 15 for their meals sooooo, guess we brought our Texas appetites with us. High quality, family run business. A real stand out in the area.
