Marian J Mohr Library

I have a toddler and am always looking for places to work outside of the house. Several times I have secured childcare, driven to this library, settled into a quiet room, and then found myself kicked out minutes later because it was reserved or someone else needed it. The rest of the library can be quite busy, which makes it hard to work if you don’t get a room. I won’t be returning.

On Tuesdays they had a story time for younger children. My daughter is 16 months and this is perfect for her. I’m not sure if it run year round but if it does I will be there every Tuesday at 10:30am. The children’s librarians are wonderful and very helpful. The children’s area is nice. They have a great selection only books and a train table and Legos for them to play with .
I haven’t used the other areas of the library but I’ve talked to the lady at the reference desk and she was helpful. And the ladies at the main desk helped me get a library card and we very helpful and kind. They make you feel welcomed at this library.

The Marian J. Mohr Library is a spanking new and impressive place. Just opened in 2011, it replaced the smaller previous library that has now become the courthouse.
The library is on a small hill and does indeed look new and nice from the outside. Huge windows in the front let in lots of natural light and the inside is still all clean and even still smells new.
The library has several nice displays including one of old, local postcards and a very cool exhibition of zillions of brightly colored toy soldiers. Nice when libraries are decorated and turned into more than just places to store books, magazines and computers.
The bottom floor has a very nice children’s area for young delinquents to run and around and have fun, and lectures and programs so they just possible might learn something.
Not a historical or aesthetically overwhelmingly impressive library but a very pleasant, functional, useful and friendly library that is a nice place to relax with a book, do some research or just meet some new friends.
