I have been wanting to try this place since I moved here. I had been told that this location was the best and I went out of my way to go to lunch there.
I was completely disappointed in the place. It’s like a terrible version of Moe’s or Chipotle’s. The service is extremely slow but I was looking past that as it was the lunch rush. Upon ordering, I was asked what I wanted but none of them listened as they kept putting ingredients into my burrito that I told them I didn’t want. That happened three times while trying to make my food. Again, mistakes happen but three times?
The food burrito was extremely salty and the chips were no better. I did try two of the salsas and was very disappointed. One tasted like tomato and onions chopped up with nothing else. The green salsa tasted like pureed cilantro with nothing else added.
Needless to say, I won’t be going back. It’s such a shame that I had been looking forward to going there for a couple of months.

This place has occasionally had issues with a smell and the salsa station, but I’ve only encountered it once. It has some great service, I’ve been known to go here every week and a few of the workers can actually remember my order whenever I go there. It is definitely the best place to get lunch around ETSU!

Much improved! Things seem to be going much better at the campus location now. They have moved some seasoned staff over from the North Johnson City location. Food is awesome now! Still wish I had more light and better seating but I now hit this place up all the time.

How this place has 5 stars at the other location, I don’t know! Of course, that’s only with 5 reviews. If any of those people had ever had Chipotle, they’d be taking most of those stars away!
They advertise fresh ingredients, yet the chicken I had on my burrito was pre-​cooked, and thrown on the grill when I ordered it to heat it up. It was dry and chewy… not good at all. It basically tasted like heated canned chicken. The only thing I can say was good was the salsa, but that’s certainly not enough to make me come back. Johnson City really needs a Chipotle. I can get more food, much better food, for less money than here! Luckily I’m not in town for long, and I’ll have my Chipotle again soon!

Barberitos is a smaller chain restaurant featuring burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and really great chips and salsa. It’s set up like a Subway but for Mexican food. You pick what kind of food you want, then choose as you go what you want in it. There’s a great selection of vegetables, and all the toppings are fresh.
Barberitos’ fresh, warm cheese dip is great with their homemade chips, and the salsas are fantastic, all with varying spice levels. There’s something for everyone, no matter what kind of Mexican food you prefer. There was a steady stream of people for lunch, and it seems like a popular place for many.
