Cabana’s On the Chain

The service wasn’t bad, the steak that I got on the over hand was undercooked and gave me food poisoning.

Absolutely love Cabana’s. From their burgers to their wings to their fish fry and everything in-​between, the food is outstanding. The atmosphere inside is really nice, and love the outdoor deck and bar during the spring/​summer/​fall. Food and drink prices are very reasonable, especially for being right on Pistakee Lake. I’d also like to mention that the staff here is amazing! From the owner Gary down to the bartenders and servers such as Val and Kelly, and even the bus staff such as Randy and Nick are very friendly, outgoing and helpful. If you haven’t visited here yet for dinner and/​or drinks, I highly recommend it! They even have live acoustic music on Wednesday nights featuring Jim Seig.

I have never seen a restaurant care less. Bad food, bad service. It’s as if the people who work here have never experienced a good restaurant themselves. Even the water tastes like a handful of pocket change.

Nice little bar with a patio and outside bar right on the water!
I love this little bar. It feels like a neighborhood bar where everyone is welcome. The waitresses and bartenders are very friendly and it has an awesome outdoor patio and bar right on Pistakee Lake.
We went there last night for dinner. They had $ 2 beers and some really great dinner specials.
Last summer we were at Cababa’s and they had live music on the patio. Great place to hang out in the summer.
I would definitely recommend stopping in whether you are traveling by boat, car, or motorcycle… or I guess you could even walk if you live the neighborhood. Good food at great prices and usually some really great drink specials.

Ate here yesterday, very disappointed. Ordered the chicken strips dinner at $ 11, came with a decent wedge salad but had rancid bacon on top. The strips were heavily breaded and obviously were frozen packaged strips. 5 strips 3 inches long, basically a little bigger than chicken nuggets but for $ 11, the fries were cool and overcooked, possibly the worst I’ve had since elementary school cafeteria. Better choices close by. Avoid.
UPDATE:I increased my rating by a star because I was contacted by the owner of the restaurant and he is taking corrective action and seemed legitimately concerned about the quality of the product being served. I hope that in the future they will pay close attention to what is leaving the kitchen. Most times, you only get one chance to impress a customer!

Pulled pork sandwich special was tasty and went well with the awesome teriyaki chicken wings.

Super friendly staff, great atmosphere and great food! If you have the pleasure of having Mindy serve you at the bar, ask for the Cabana surprise!

Great specials every day including weekends! They have happy hour now too. The new kitchen staff has really improved the quality of the food since the first time I’ve been here, and the bartenders make strong drinks for a good price. I’ve become a semi regular this year.

Stopped in on a Monday during the day on the boat. The place was semi busy for being a weekday. The service at the bar was very good. Usually service at the other lake bars in the area are horrible at best. We had burgers and they were good, I think it was like $ 5 burger day or something. The drinks were made strong and priced right. The docks were sufficient. We will definitely be back. Ohh and the bathrooms were clean which is a rarity in the area…

Glad to have another fun place to stop at while on the boat! Bloody marys are exceptional, lots of snacks to eat while you are drinking. Food is just what you want when you have been drinking all day, and for me that’s something spicy so the wings are always a hit. Sad that summer is ending and I probably won’t head this way with regularity, but maybe I’ll check it out if I’m out snowmobiling. Not sure if the video poker is a pro or con, depends on if you win or not, but I’m always a sucker for a few pulls and enjoy the distraction.

Food was below average. They switched waitresses 5 minutes in. Service was absolutely horrible. 10 minutes to get drinks both times. Dinner took 45 minutes. Waitress kept telling us «2 seconds». They gave us half our food then 3 minutes later got the rest. Again, overall horrible. Manager and waitresses never apologized or did anything to fix it.

The food is still good. May not be the best place for young children. Noisy somewhat rough crowd.

Wow is all I can say. I’ve dined at all of the establishments up and down the Fox River, and I’ve finally found the spot.
We had the cheese curds, sweet chili wings and washed it all down with the best Bloody Mary (There was a brat in there!) I’ve had in a long time.
Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area and looking for a good time, a good meal and a good drink.

Delicious burger. SATURDAY CRAB LEGS… Enough said. Despite the long wait (easily over an hour for food to arrive, 80 minutes), we had a pleasant experience. The burger (fried onion straws, BBQ sauce), was flavorful, especially for a «lake burger». The crab legs arrived cool but were good none-​the-​less. The kids fries were delayed another 10 minutes from the time we received ours. We enjoyed dinner, but not the wait. We waited 15 – 20 minutes just to place (not even receive) a drink order. And we were confused with the chicken flatbread on the menu. Thinking it was more a chicken flatbread pizza, we were surprised to receive a «sandwich». We loved the friendless of our server, we just couldn’t find her. She apologized for being understaffed & for the wait. We really weren’t in a hurry, just found it difficult to occupy the kids & missed out on lake time. I really want to rate this restaurant 4 stars because the food was excellent, but the execution of service was lacking. Like I said, she was great, just overwhelmed. This easily should be rated higher than most of the other lake restaurants, but we do take our wait & service into consideration when rating the restaurant.

Best wings around!!! The burgers are awesome too. Everything I have eaten here is great. Friendly people, great atmosphere. Great staff, especially the hostess. Spending the day out on the chain? Cabana’s is easily accessible by boat, plenty of room to dock. A must try!!!

Love this place. Boater friendly too. Burgers are great, so are wings. Good drink specials. Monday is $ 5 burger night too. Attentive staff, Kristi the manager is great.

Great food! Great specials. Great outdoor seating. Service seems to be confusing for the waitstaff. Not sure if there’s a lack of organization but each time we come there seems to be confusion as to who is to wait each table.
AND Why oh why must the music be BLASTING outside?!? It’s difficult to even have a conversation! And it’s not even a bar atmosphere yet at 5pm. Just dinner guests. But blasting music. Ruins the relaxed atmosphere of being a water front restaurant.

Stopped for lunch on one of the first nice Saturday afternoons from the water. Floating docks are still a real hazard. No change from the prior owner. Deck and outside bar are very nicely redone. Menu has some good change of pace items for the Chain, like peel-​n-​eat shrimp and calamari. Drinks are pricey. Wait service was slooow and immature. Couldn’t multitask bringing items. Didn’t write items down, so had to come back to verify. Young bartender couldn’t answer questions about their launch, even though the sign direct you to talk to the bartender.
Shows some real promise, but needs to get the service kinks worked out soon. The crush of boating customers is coming!

I’ve been here for food twice. I like the food and service.
My friend lives out there and goes frequently after work.
