UNITS Moving & Portable Storage

my buddy said do not use! unless you want mold and your stuff ruined. leaks! water ruined everything. bought insurance and still haven’t been paid. scam!!!

If you need moving and storage you would be wise to skip these people. We moved from NC to Charleston and used two of their units for the move and storage. When the driver picked up my unit after we unloaded it he ran over my mailbox. He did come tell me about it and said they would take care of it. Here’s where the customer service went away. After several calls and promises of a return call the guy tells me that the driver no longer works for them and I will need to track him down and get the money ($ 35) from him to pay for my mailbox. SAY WHAT? I asked to speak to someone in charge and was referred to the «VP» Mark Smith. This guy is apparently the owner and doesn’t care about anything after he gets his money. He has been avoiding me and will not return my calls. I have yet to speak directly to him, just keep leaving messages that are not returned.
I have written off the $ 35 but thought I should warn folks about this shady company. In addition to the mailbox, our stuff was infested with bugs (roaches and stink bugs) when the unit was delivered. After unloading the first one we bought a 3 pack of foggers and fumigated the second unit before we unloaded it. There are plenty of other companies out there that provide this service– PODS, Pack-​Rat, ABF U-​PACK to name a few.
I suggest using ANYONE BESIDES UNITS OF JOHNS ISLAND.
