Charming pagan shop. I’ve been frequenting here for over 20 years. A true local treasure. It wouldn’t feel like Jim Thorpe without it. Signs of caution are posted for reasons, plenty of narrow walking spaces packed with everything from antique lamps, to gargoyles, incense, and brass Buddhas. It is absolutely worth venturing through, albeit delicately. Don’t be a sourpuss because of a few signs, explore the magic.

Love this store. I frequent it many times during a year and always see something different. The store is divided up by themes. Day of the Dead, wildlife sculptures, dragons, Egyptian, Ireland… you name it. Although it is a challenge to navigate through the small shop, it is totally worth your time.

I adore this place. I don’t even know where to begin describing it, but I highly recommend that anyone in the area check it out. They have everything from man-candles(including scents of «bacon, fart, and golf course») to Wiccan charms and spell books to Tibetan humming meditation bowls. They also have a solid selection of vintage toys(aptly placed out of the reach of children as a precaution against the small breakable pieces and lead paint of the old days). It’s kind of expensive, which is why I left empty-handed but it’s a sight to see in and of itself.

There are a few«charmed» places in the retail world, and this is one of them. The owners have a real genius for finding the unusual, the beautiful, and the relatively rare – everything from the Witches’ Almanac to exquisite lithophanes and gorgeous Tiffany style lamps. It is a flagship store for Jim Thorpe, and it never disappoints. A real favorite!

A local favorite, 20+ year young magickal shop(Yes, with a «k») that carries everything from playful to serious; Tarot cards, incense, jewelry, statues, books, CD’s, clothing and more. It contains countless Wiccan and Faerie delights, as well as those for other faiths, along with many Victorian style items. A charming little treasure trove of Pagan treats, all placed carefully and almost magically, in such a small space with narrow pathways to weave through what once was an old Victorian movie theater. For those whose knowledge lies outside of the realm of this shop, let’s say it’s befitting a Hogwarts student, though this place has been around since before J.K. Rowling put Harry Potter’s name down on paper. It is indeed sprinkled with many informative SIGNS, some about the history of the shop, famous visitors, and a few warnings of caution(since many tourists seem to simply forget MANNERS). But don’t let a few lines of READING take away from a delightful experience. There may be quite a few shops selling similar wares in the US, newer and trendy, but combined with the beauty of Jim Thorpe you’ll be hard pressed to find such a unique experience as the Emporium of Curious Goods.

«DON’T TOUCH!» «You Break, YOUBUY!» ‚ «Ladies, WATCHYOURBIGSHOULDERBAGS!» «NOPHOTOS!!» «ASKUSBEFOREYOUMOVEANYTHINGONTHESHELVES!» …And those were just the first five signs we encountered. There were more to be found no doubt. An emporium of bric-à-brac; possibly fun and shop-worthy if the owner wasn’t in love with beige construction paper and a heavy black Sharpie. No thanks.

I really enjoy this store tucked away in the cute town of Jim Thorpe. It houses all things wiccan and commercially witchy including costumes and wands. There’s also a good supply of vintage style Halloween items. Just a fun place to look around or pick up a unique gift.
