As it turned out, this was a seamless transaction. *
Due to the fact that another investment company is going bye bye at the end of the year. I had to search for another brokerage house. The prior company has managed my IRA for well over twenty years. I confess I really do not like change. Especially when it involves managing my money.
It unfolded like this.
Not wanting to go into Manhattan I found ScottTrade. I placed a call and spoke to the branch manager, Jackson Tam. All I had to do was bring my most recent statement and fill out the paperwork. It really wasn’t very long, maybe ten to fifteen minutes to finish the paperwork. Not as bad as I thought it would be.
Once that was completed all I had to do was wait. Seven business days later the money was transferred to ScottTrade. He even offered a few suggestions for my cash account which I am currently watching.
Certainly not a bad option if you are looking for someone to manage your money.
