I was at the DMV early this morning, and then looking for a quick breakfast. Nothing too involved. Nothing too sweet or too healthy. Based on the Unilocal review, I tried Papa Donuts and(despite the fact that there were no donuts in evidence), I was glad I did. This is indeed an old-fashioned, no-frills luncheonette kind of diner. It looked a little dingy when I first walked in, but I decided to sit at the counter(empty when I sat down, but well populated when I left — I guess I started a trend) and have breakfast. Scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries, coffee. Everything was good, fresh, simple. The coffee was better than I expected. And it has a good vibe. The people are nice, and seem genuinely pleased to be working there. Nothing fancy, mind you, but I would definitely go back if I were in the neighborhood.

Delicious, honest, pleasant mom n pops diner. Good prices and remarkable customer service. Family friendly with a calm atmosphere. You don’t feel cramped or hurried. Belly up to the counter or enjoy your meal at a table. Either way, you’ll satisfy your breakfast/brunch/lunch hunger.
