On Tuesday nights our building hosts different food trucks. This food truck came by our apartment complex and my curiosity got the better of me, I ordered the«Carne Guisada» which is this hearty beef stew, the meat was falling apart tender and with the PIQUE and MONEY sauce on top it tasted even more amazing. I wanted to try the Empanadas, but they were sold out. Yellow rice was also unique, they definitely added more flavors and spices in it, don’t know what, but it’s not your typical spanish or mexican style rice. Definitely give it a try if you see this truck! I am craving the MONEY sauce like crazy, don’t know what it is, but it’s like an avocado based loose sauce with a real kick. But like, ten times better than guacamole.

All of the 5 star reviews are absolutely true. The Me Casa food truck introduced me to the beauty of mofongo. It does take a while to make but it’s so worth it. The guy fries the plaintains about ¾ths of the way, then mashes it into a ball with a mortar and pestle before putting it back into the fryer. The result is a wonderfully crispy ball of plaintains that promptly soaks up whatever meats and sauces you throw at it. Needless to say, I promptly ate up my mofongo with roast pork, which was wonderfully tender and juicy, along with the pigeon peas and rice slathered in spicy cilantro money sauce. The portion was huge but was able to tough it out, thanks to the 10 – 15 minute wait in sub-freezing temperatures(yes it was worth it.) The guy was friendly, the food was delicious, and the truck location is super convenient; what more can you ask for?

Mo.fon.go! Like, go right now if you can. This food truck is probably the best I’ve ever been to. You basically get a full meal at food truck prices($ 8 – 10 for the entrees). I always get the mofongo, which is roast pork(or your choice of meat) over fried mashed plantains and covered in stew. Don’t forget to get the money sauce, which is a delicious garlicky green concoction that I would put on just about anything if I could. He’s also got great empanadas and other great eats, always served up with a smile.

Honestly, all I have to say is YES. Mofongo out of a food truck? Hell yes. And let me just say that I’m almost 100% certain I make the best mofongo and am usually disappointed anywhere else. But this was bangin’ juicy with the right amount of crisp. Also that hulk sauce is everything! Pour it all over a shrimp empanada if you’re just looking for a snack! Find it and eat there. You will not be disappointed!

As a Puerto Rican, I’m really picky about eating Puerto Rican food outside my home. I went to the JCEats yesterday(7⁄18) for lunch and my best friend wanted to try this truck. I noticed a line, so figured it had to be decent right? RIGHT. I had an empanada de pollo and an alcapurria for $ 6. NOREGRETS. The empanada was crispy on the outside and the pollo was really seasoned to perfection. The alcapurria was my favorite though. Normally I like them to be made of yuca and not masa, but man it was good. Crunchy exterior and melt in your mouth on the inside. My bff had the vegetales guisado y arroz con gandules, it was really, really, REALLY good. Both the guys on the truck were really kind and had smiles despite it being 1000 degrees in there. Hopefully the restaurant is just as good! Going to make a trip with Mami y Papi next week :)

We’ve been wanting to try Me Casa for a while now, but never made it to the restaurant… however, with food truck Friday’s, they managed to bring the food to us here in the Heights. All of the food is incredibly flavorful not to mention plenty. The mofongo is what I remember from PR, the pernil and carne asada is tender and the flavor just burst on your tongue. Sauces for the empanadas are terrific. Chef Eddie is there to greet with a smile and great service. So, amazing flavorful food from a truck, great service, what else can you ask for? I’ll definitely be a regular at the truck…

this truck comes to my brother’s place every thursday and i was lucky to try it out while i am here! i got their pulled pork with the yellow rice and for $ 8, this is one solid plate of food! their money sauce is indeed money and had i known how money it was, i would’ve asked for an extra side of it! i really don’t know too much about puerto rican cuisine but this truck has pretty awesome food and the guy serving it is friendly and generous! try it, you won’t regret it!

Besides the awesome fact that this truck comes to our apt building like twice a week, the food is delicious and the owner is just so nice! I have tried the pulled pork, rotisserie chicken, chicken stew, and they were all very yummy at very reasonable prices. My favorite sides here are the yellow rice and of course sweet plantain which was fried to perfection. Puerto Rican food in Jersey City? Go to Me Casa!

The Me Casa food truck started to park in my apartment complex recently so I stopped by today, and I am so glad I did! The owner is super nice and even gave me a taster of the beef and chicken stew to help me decide! I got the chicken stew, with white rice and beans, and oh my god it was nice and spicy and so so good. Totally hit the spot on a cold rainy night. Probably the best food truck meal I’ve ever had. Great portion size too — I shared it with my friend and still felt satisfied! Looking forward to the next time the Me Casa food truck rolls up :)

This truck’s food is AMAZING! My sister and I went there to grab a quick empanada and while it was being prepared, they offered us free samples that blew us away. We will definitely be returning to try some of their other dishes. The guys that run it are super friendly as well. It was freezing and started to rain while we were waiting for the food and they kindly offered to let us stand in the truck while we waited. Definitely worth a try! FYI: I found them parked on Washington near the corner of Morgan St.

I don’t know how I missed the Me Casa Express food truck since it hit the streets in June, but I was glad I found it. This is an extension of the Me Casa Puerto Rican restuarant, on the corner of Varick and Christopher Columbus. I have had a great meal there, and my stop at their new food truck was equally delicious. I ordered the Roast Pork Topped w/Money Sauce and a side of yellow rice with pigeon peas. It was very, very tasty and the portion was generous. One of the best food truck meals I have ever had. I look forward to returning to Me Casa Express again.
