Kwok’s Great Wall

This place seems to be pretty hit or miss. I’ve ordered several times on Seamless for myself in the past year and gotten my food in about the right time frame. I’m a sucker for good orange peel beef, and theirs is the only one that has gotten the crunch right as far as I’m concerned!
The reason for the two fewer stars was our most recent experience in which they took nearly 2 hours to deliver the food, and when they did had spilled half of the order inside the bag. They then took nearly 40 minutes to get the replacement soup delivered. Unfortunately, the quality of the food that day wasn’t up to par — slimy and cold from the long delivery time. A disappointing experience, but (other than that experience) I haven’t really found any better Chinese delivery.

If i could give this place ZERO stars I would. The service here is TERRIBLE! I ordered on seamless and it took them over 2 hours to deliver. I called multiple times and they rudely said its on its way over and over again. I live in hoboken… not that far that for 2 hours its on its way. Finally after 3 – 4 phone calls my order arrives. I open the bag and not only is my order wrong but the soup they delivered spilled all over the bag and dripped up to my apartment.
When I called back I didn’t even get an apology. They just said oh we’ll send you a new soup. So after 2 hours of waiting for some terrible chinese food I had to wait another half an hour for replacement food.
The quality of the food was awful as well. Some of the worst chinese food I’ve ever had AND service was awful. DO NOT waste your $$ ordering from here. Totally not worth it at all.

Solid spot to get Chinese food in Jersey City. Family-​owned and friendly, I’m really not sure where all the previous complaints are coming from. I’ve waited 8 minutes at most for take out, and the prices and portions are very fair. I’ve already been here a few times so would also like to note that I’ve yet gotten ill from the food.

Their food was awful. We stopped by as it was very late at night and we were hungry. We ordered some soup noodles for a very quick supper.
The noodle looked terrible so that already made us regret to come in the restaurant. The taste was disgusting. I was not able to eat at all.
It was only 5 dollars or so but it was completely waste of money.
I don’t like the instant noodles which you can get at supermarkets but those are definitely way better than their food!
The staff can’t speak English at all.

Food was good, despite the long wait. I would recommend to pick it up if you can (I would have but someone blocked my driveway…). Delivery man was very nice, very stressed, and was really trying to be on time and make up time. Seems it was a busy night and he was the only one delivering.
I was very very very hungry tonight, so probably wasn’t the nicest person on the phone. Apologies, but I was in pain, and hungry!

Ordered from Kwoks on Saturday night and my boyfriend and I thought it was some of the best chinese food we have ever had! Reading through the reviews below, I am now wondering if maybe there is new management or owners because everything we ordered was great. We ordered wonton soup, egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken, veggie lo mein and the sliced pork szechuan style combo platter. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. We were given a time frame of 45 mins to an hour and they were right on time. They even included plastic silverware which was awesome because we had moved earlier that day and did not have silverware or plates yet! Kwoks will probably be our go to for when we are in the mood for some chinese food.

I ordered online and waited 40 minutes past the hour estimated time. When the food arrived, there was a sizable dead bug in the wonton soup. I didn’t dare eat any of it.

I wouldn’t even recommend this shit to my worst enemy. Simply dreadful, they couldn’t even hit the BASICS.

The food is great!!! I like how they make their food, not too oily like other restaurants. They give big portions for low prices, it can’t get better than that. I heard it was highly recommended, I love it here!!!

If there was something less than one star I would give it. Their food is so bad I threw it up. Don’t ever go there! It will make you sick!

It’s kind of hard to mess up Chinese food (unless it gives you serious food poisoning). You pay them money, they give you food — end of transaction. Occasionally, the food will be good, which is an added bonus. I can’t say that I order Chinese food very often, but Kwok’s Great Wall delivers (no pun intended). The food is, on average, pretty good. Definitely try the boneless spare ribs — juicy and tasty!

The prices (and proximity) are what brought me in here, but I can’t say I was pleased with my meal. I got the shrimp and broccoli lunch special with pork fried rice. The shrimp was clean which was a pleasant surprise. That and the broccoli were pretty good. The rice was awful – really awful. The meat was fatty which is an immediate turn off for me. My egg roll was also SWIMMING in oil. I know egg rolls are oily to begin with, but a pool of oil shouldn’t come dripping out of the bag. My days here are certainly done.

i am so high on this place because it does one thing so extremely well: crispy chicken! always crispy chicken is unbelievable. the wings are similarly awesome but it is the bits of chicken in the entrees that make this place awesome.

This place has two things going well for it… it’s quick, and it’s astoundingly cheap. You’ll get a big portion for a couple dollars. It’s not impressive otherwise, but if you’re hungry and short on cash, it’s perfect.

The food itself is hot and piping, and the staff is curt, but swift with taking your order. Actually making it can take a while, though.
There’s a lack of vegetables in the mushroom chicken which had too much corn starch, and the mushrooms come out of the can, but the pork fried rice isn’t bad. Hot & sour soup isn’t hot or sour, and not too much stuff in the soup, but it’s hot. The egg roll is decent, but greasy.
The chicken wings are great, though.
