Every time I pass by I have to grap a falafel from the person giving samples. I find their Falafel to be tasty and not overwhelmingly spicy as most places tend to make it. their green salad and Hummus are good as well but not exceptional. I always stick to the Authentic Falafel dish or sandwich. Can’t stand people eating Falafel with Rice ! That’s wrong. only issue I have with this place, They’re so stingy with their Falafel. only four in the sandwich

A front row seat for the wonderful ethnic chaos that is Jersey City. Chipotle falafel nachos. Bubble tea. Mango Lassi. Chicken Tikka. Hummus. Fluffy fresh pita. This is unassuming fusion — unironic, unpretentious, and damned good. The falafel has Nigella seed and turmeric in it. The mango Lassi works with the cucumber salad. It all fits together… Mostly. That makes this place so representative of Jersey City. The food is great, and it’s no wonder: it’s a combination of the best fast food from around the world. There are great little Italian family restaurants around Jersey City that tell the story of immigration in JC. And then there’s Crisp, which tells the story of right now. Service was slow and slightly disorganized. But that just makes this place even MORE Jersey City. When people ask me what Jersey City is like, I just tell them that here in flavortown, I can get Chipotle falafel nachos and bubble tea from the same place.

I used to be a big fan of this place previously but over the period of time i have seen food getting more expensive. the quality has deteriorated and the portion sizes have shrunk. I had recently ordered for tikka over rice and was surprised at the quantity… At 7 $ all it had was 4 really small pieces of tikka and not more than 10 spoons of rice. I wished they could have continued with the quality and quantity of food they initially started with.

Also, their catering component is top notch. What had the possibilty of being a very dreary working lunch was brought to life via Crisp’s falafel balls and a variety of salads and sides!

Best place for vegetarians. Convenient location. Falafel over rice and waffle fries are the best.

Baja hummus, Tikka over rice & Taro bubble tea are some the best dishes served here! Don’t miss any of these & also do try other dishes!

I love going to this place. Most recommended dish here is tikka over rice along with baja hummus salad. Their taro bubble tea, mango lassi and hazelnut chocolate moose is really amazing. Staff is very friendly. In short must go place.

I had the Israeli Hummus Salad. The hummus is really good. Portions are large and sides of pita and falafel are very generous. Very clean counter. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Great Service. Some baked options would make this place a 5 star.

I stayed away because the falafel fusion premise scared me. Does the word really need Mexican falafel? As happens too often, I was in the Newport mall since I didn’t wake up early enough to find more glamorous food, and I’ve been to most of the other places too many times(in some cases one is too many). So this was the time for Crisp. I got the«authentic» falafel platter. It wasn’t an across-the-board smash. The sesame quotient in the hummus was too high. The falafel balls were effective in both taste and texture. But the killer app here is the sauce. There’s a hot green sauce. And another green sauce, not so hot. They work very well, alone or combined. Roadfood has a metric about how many miles you should travel to visit a particular restaurant. I wouldn’t suggest out-of-towners make a special trip here but if you’re already in the mall to buy some candles or socks, I’d recommend Crisp.

I had the Europa Salad, and it was pretty good… I’d eat here the next time I’m in the mall!

Probably the best food i’ve ever had in a food court, especially in Newport. The food is a bit pricy, but it’s slightly better food for you than say Panda Express. I had the Baja Hummus Salad. It came with five falafel balls and wheat pita. They also have San Pellegrino, my favorite! All of this for about $ 11, which is about the same as a meal at Panera. I was very satisfied with the food, the taste, and the quality. I will be back.

If they were a little cheaper I’d eat there more often. They are mostly about hummus and falafels but I am actually a fan of their veggie burgers. I love the backyard burger. The falafel sandwiches and the salads are good. Because they give you pita bread and the falafels with the salads, you can make your own falafel sandwich. They say offer fruit juices too. Will try it one day.

Unfortunately things have changed here since my first review. For one the prices have increased. Not dramatically but enough that it is definitely noticed. Also the falafel are half the size they used to be and the toppings are minuscule. This is inexcusable especially considering the price increase. Lastly they no longer seem to have the container the sandwiches usually come in so all the filling comes out when trying to travel with it. I usually get the CRISP Mexican falafel sandwich and these changes have made it not worth it to even make the 3 min walk from my office to this place. I’ll just have to be content with the one in NYC instead. Sad.

The good: Unique vegetarian falafel-based offerings, a box that turns into a sandwich holder. The bad: high prices($ 8.95 for a falafel seems high, even if that sandwich — I got the Africa vversion — is loaded with yummy items like a fresh corn salad a really good spicy peanut sauce and a falafel that seemed pressed from a mold and not hand-formed, I didn’t know there was a difference until I tasted this company’s falafel offerings. The verdict: I would eat here again.

I’ve been here a few times since my first review and unfortunately, I have to dock a star. The quality of preparation and freshness of the actual falafel is entirely dependent on the workers on duty on a given day. I don’t think one should have to gamble on the quality of a $ 10 sandwich/salad. I think I’ll just stick to the CRISP in midtown.

OMG! nom nom nom!!! As the name suggests, the falafel is hot and crisp! I got the classic salad to go with these yummy crunchy nuggets. Deee-lish! Warning: A little bit on the pricey side for lunch :)

I was looking forward to the opening of Crisp at this location, as I love the Crisp truck on 50th St &6th Ave in Midtown, but not the line that comes with it at lunchtime. I stopped here for a tasty healthy bite to take home with me for dinner. Though it was late, the salads looked pretty good and tasted even better. I had some freshly made falafels and my tummy was so very happy. And my mom enjoyed hers as well. The servers were friendly and accomodating, serving up extra olives in my salad upon request.

It blows my mind that people are touting this as healthy food. In relation to a BK Whopper, maybe, but that doesn’t mean this place is «healthy.» I watched in horror as the worker dumped about ½ a cup’s worth of oils over the top of my «salad.» But let me back up. I ordered the Acropolis Hummus Salad: a bowl with hummus on the bottom, then a layer of greens, and finally a layer of chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese, and black olives. They give you the falafel in a separate little baggy(I assume so they don’t get soggy if you’re not eating it immediately), as well as a side of thick pita bread. The hummus at the bottom of the bowl is more than anyone could eat in one sitting. In fact, I’m certain I will be snacking on that for the next week. It was probably the equivalent of an entire tub from Trader Joe’s. Luckily, it’s GOOD hummus, so I’m not complaining. I was disappointed that the«greens» were just romaine lettuce. I would have liked to see something closer to spring mix or spinach. Also, the ratio of lettuce to hummus was truly pathetic. It’s like half a handful of lettuce on top a pound of hummus. Really? The Greek salad mixture was lovely. I’m a huge fan of the classic Greek salad components, so I really enjoyed this part. It was refreshing and flavorful. The falafel was slamming. They actually make it for you when you order it, so it’s hella fresh(and piping hot!). My «salad» came with five of these beauties, if I remember correctly. Back to the horror story… I watched him assemble my salad(the counter is set up ala Subway, where the worker just puts everything together in front of you). After piling in the pound of hummus, he slowly swirled in at LEAST ¼ cup of olive oil on top. Then, after layering in the lettuce, he drizzled an oil-based vinaigrette over the greens. After putting in the Greek salad(which is already coated in the aforementioned vinaigrette), he drizzled MORE olive oil over the entire thing. And let us not forget that the falafel is deep fried, and the hummus already contains oil within it. Healthy? I think not. But fresh and tasty nonetheless. Service was friendly and charming. The worker who helped me could not speak English very clearly, but he innocently asked if I were European because I «looked like a model,» so that was cool. :)

Super excited to see that Crisp opened up a location in my backyard at the Newport Centre Mall in Jersey City! I’ve been a customer of the Crisp food truck in Manhattan for several months now, and I really enjoy the chance to grab lunch when the truck is parked near my office. While walking through the mall food court today, I did a double-take when I saw a gleaming, brand new Crisp location. Fully staffed with a beautifully-designed space, this Crisp location has everything I’ve come to expect: falafel in pita, salad bowls, and really good hummus. I had the«Crisp Authentic,» which is falafel in a pita with hummus, israeli salad and tahini. Delicious as always! It felt really weird to be able to sit and eat in the mall versus running back into my office from the truck and eating at my desk! But I guess I’ll get used to it! Four stars for this new location. Minus one star for the somewhat confused employees who are probably still learning the ropes, but could definitely do with some more training as the weeks go on.
