Court Grill Diner

New operators have made big strides in improving the food over the prior, but what appears to be a conscious decision to staff just one waitress is going to limit their success.

Came here while on a break from jury duty (less than 1 block from the courthouse) AND because I was in the mood for grilled cheese. Diner is small so it felt crowded during lunch hour, but the service did not suffer. The waitress could have been a bit friendlier but she was prompt… Grilled cheese with tomato and French fries was probably one of the BEST I’ve ever had! I wish there was a small counter with stools; I felt a bit awkward sitting at a large table all by myself!

They are under construction. No heat whatsoever today, had to eat with winter coat, hat and gloves still on!!! There weren’t many people there and yet service was painfully disorganized not as friendly as I would have liked.
The food is cheap in price and judging from the cheeseburger off the regular menu, so was my food. If the patty was ¹⁄₁₆^th of an inch thick I would be shocked. It was overlooked, dry and sat on an oversized grilled bun. Thank goodness for the bacon and cheese, I actually got some protein.
The fries were unremarkable and not uniformly heated or seasoned.
The ice machine was broken. The bathroom is ongoing major face lift as was the rest of the joint. Tables and chair covers seemed new and the air was clean and the room was bright– that’s a welcomed change from the old smoked filled restaurant of the past.
Forget about parking! It doesn’t exist. The coffee was hot and not too bad. I will check back in to see how the renovation is progressing. Hopefully they will have it more together.

I came in because of Jury duty. If you’re serving your duty stop in. Service is fast, food is just what you expect from a diner. I enjoyed my break there.

Worst delivery service ever. They took an hour and twenty minutes to deliver me cold, tossed-​around food, complete with cold, spilled coffee and no syrup or butter for my pancakes. To make things better, they agreed to deliver me more coffee and some syrup and then never did. I never complain and I made a Unilocal account just to review this place. Awful.

Their food is pretty standard diner food which is great. Nothing I can’t get at any other diner in JC. What I CAN get at other diners, is good customer service. The first time I dealt with Tanya, she was yelling at me on the phone because the wrong address was on the delivery sheet and it took her 5 minutes to find the building next door. The second time I dealt with Tanya was this morning when I ordered breakfast, at 11am, and received a call telling me I had to contact
myself and cancel my order because they were too busy. They stop making breakfast during lunch, then start back up later on apparently. So from now on I’ll order from somewhere I won’t get disciplined over the phone. Bye Court Grill Diner, you were mediocre at best.

Their souvlaki is delicious!
I also recommend the curry chicken. Mmmmm Court Grill if awesome!

Great food! Especially now that they serve Caribbean (Trinidadian) food. The chicken roti is terrific! Service is great as well, and everything I’ve had was always fresh and delicious! :)

Good cheap food. I love their egg salad sandwich. It’s so good!
