Been going to Market Bistro for over 2 years. Always packed. Food is always fresh and everything on the menu is always excellent. Best Burgers anywhere. The staff is beyond good. Very little turnover in staff. That is the mark of a good place. Always busy. Great Bar. Excellent bar tenders. They make everyone feel like they belong, and that they are regulars. Adam(owner) is always there making sure that all goes smoothly. He really cares about his customers. That is why everyone comes back. There is no way anyone can write something negative about this place.

Rude bartenders… Open tables in dining room, yet while finishing our wine, tells us we need to leave because people waiting for our stools. Mind you, no one cared when we waited patiently for 20 mins for seats to open, when dining room was full. Over-rated and priced food, but it’s the«douche bag» service that makes me rate this spot one star. Management: if you want to keep patrons, train your staff to value your paying customers and emphasize customer service to elderly staff, who are clearly too old to tend bar and conduct of themselves in a friendly and engaging manner. Two Thumbs down on this venue.

This is quite simply the worst place!!! A very limited menu but quite convenient as my husband and I live in the neighborhood. We were regulars, that the owner acknowledged us and said hello. One evening my husband and I walked in and sat at the bar for a light bite. We were informed by the bartender that those seats were RESERVED! At the bar! I didn’t want to get up and asked to speak to the owner. I was informed that, yes, I must get up, those seats were saved for customers that were not even there! YES! BARSEATS! Not table seats which of course are held for reservations. The owner offered no other accommodations! There were several tables available around us as well as in the dining room. Didn’t even say to please wait while he gets us another seat! All this back and forth and still no bar customers! I even said that I am leaving, AND I WILLNEVERCOMEBACK! To which he replied! Ok!!! I’m glad that he is so sure of his business that he doesn’t need neighborhood customers! I have since told all my friends they were horrified and I will never return!!! The food at this restaurant is fair at best, no one is certainly traveling from afar for this dining experience and the customer service ISATROCIOUS!!! Your money will be better spent elsewhere where customers are appreciated!

Still love this place! Everytime I come back I continue to get the flight of beer– they have such good choices it’s hard not to get a sample of everything. The most recent menu item I ordered is the butternut squash ravioli oh my god amazing! I don’t know what exactly was in it but all I know was I ate every last bite!(who needs leftovers when it’s that good?). The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was so delicious. It was listed under the«small plates» section but they were nice enough to let me order it as an entrée-size. I recommend this if you’re a fan of pasta since a lot of the entrees are meats/fish(lamb, burger, pork, salmon etc). My fiancé and his family love the lamb chops here as well. I definitely recommend making a reservation — they were SO busy both times we were there recently but luckily the service was still great!

Pretty good food, uppity people in there waitress told my wife as she ordered appetizers that we had to order all of our food right away because they had reservations. Don’t rush us out of the restaurant if your gonna seat us thats ignorant. Not a bad place but not as special as they think they are

This place is great for both lunch and dinner. The food is excellent and the wait staff is very polite and accommodating. It’s one of my new favorite restaurants in the area definitely worth checking out!

I do actually like this place. Not as much for the restaurant as the bar. Ample white Carrara marble, very decent music and attentive bar tenders make for a great place to throw back a few. The décor and lighting create a up to date atmosphere and the menu, wine and beer as well. I’m sipping a Cigar City Invasion Pale Ale and I also see a blue Chimay Grand Reserve on tap… A definite plus for the mid Nassau bar scene.

One of my all time favorite restaurants! I love that the menu and the bar selection is always changing. Manager /owner Adam is an unbelievable person, and has top notch hospitality service and experience. Have never once had a bad meal here, & we go often. Great vibe, beautiful bar, and even better food. Great selection of wine, craft beers, and seasonal cocktails. Adam is also super knowledgeable and the restaurant is run flawlessly. I love this place!!!

Stopped here one afternoon with my toddlers to get some french onion soup and brownie for lunch. The hostess greeted us with«can I help you?» with a look on her face like we had no business being there(how about a simple«Hi! Table for 3?»). Gave us attitude the whole time. Never going back. Not everyone comes in to spend $ 100+ on a lunch. I would never treat customers the way she and the other staff treated us. (Written in response to Adam, the owner) Thank you for the response, Adam. We stopped in on Veterans Day afternoon. It was 30 minutes before you guys were closing, according to Unilocal.Once the hostess asked us if she could help me, I just wanted to turn back. But it didn’t look crowded, and my kids needed to eat something, so I changed my mind and told her that I just wanted to order soup and a dessert and asked her if that was ok. She said it was, and seated us on the round table next to the door. We sat for a good while before our order was taken. I asked for french onion soup and the brownie, and both came at the same time, quickly. I also asked for some bread which was given to us even if it was with attitude. I have to correct myself — not everyone was that way — the guy that filled our water glasses was very nice to us, said hi to my kids, made sure they were ok with the tall glasses, and gave us water with no ice, with a nice attitude. But the hostess and the guy server that brought our food didn’t seem to care about us or our being there. We were brought our check, no «thanks» or «have a nice night» or anything. I left minimal tip and left without anyone caring to say anything. I wanted to convince myself and think that maybe it was because they were getting ready to close, and just busy — but they weren’t busy at all and I clearly saw and heard — the other people that were dinning there with nicer bags and jackets and no kids, were treated with more care and respect by the same people that seemed to not care and disrespect me and my kids. I paid for our food, and we ate quietly without any incidents — does it make a difference whether we look important or not? I hate that.

Sat — 10÷31÷15 — Dinner to celebrate a book release — One person on PALEO diet, and no problems!!! A great meal, wonderful service — be sure and try the blue cheese stuffed dates. We had brought our own cake and it was served with a wonderful presentation. Folks at the next table asked if they could order it LOL! But we did send them over a piece as we had extra… Thank you Market Bistro!

I’ve gone here twice. The food has been consistent. The pumpkin fritters were delicious as well as the chicken! Nice place, good for couples as well as friends. They have a good beer collection as well as wine list. Menu changes with the season. I would definitely reccomend!

The place is actually quite cool, great atmosphere. We got the corn fritters, they were a little dark and greasy for my taste but the other guests at our table enjoy them. I also got the black bean and avocado dip that was wonderful. I ordered the house salad with lemon vinaigrette dressing it was great very refreshing very fresh and crisp. I’ve been ordered as an entrée the vegetable ravioli that was absolutely outstanding. Other guests in my party got the short ribs and the lamb chops everyone was very pleased with their meals and could not stop complimenting how good everything was.

Five star review… This establishment has made my 5 Star list solely based on their beer selection. From India Pale Ales to Double Rich Russian Stouts. They also have local favorites like Brooklyn Summer Ale and their food isn’t bad either wow…

Have had some great dining experiences at Market Bistro! First off, kudos to them for having a following considering the location. It’s in the back corner of a shopping center that is in no way visible from the road. Walking in you get the total gastropub/wine bar feel; lots of wood and beer taps, wine barrels on the wall, a shared table and the specials on a chalk board on the wall. Perfecto. My last visit included… market pickles, market greens(mesclun greens, shaved baby vegetable, lemon vinaigrette), meatballs(garlic toast/house preserved tomato sauce/pecorino), organic chicken(skillet roasted/jarnidere vegetables/spaetzle/herb pan jus) and a Chimay Tripel(or two). Everything was great and the service was on point. I’ll be back!

Complete waste of time. If I could leave no stars I would. The customer service and wait staff(including the pompous owner) will lead to the failure of this establishment. It’s a shame because this place SHOULD have great potential based on its farm to table ideology however it is evident that it is simply a matter of time that this place will be another failing restaurant in the area. Food may be arguably decent but the consistent lack of customer service and rude staff leaves a bitter taste in your mouth sour enough to ruin the entire experience. It is such a shame that the owner can write feedback to all these reviews all day but fails to step up to the plate in person.

Always good food, music and atmosphere ! Love the Tuna tartare delicious. Beet ravioli sounds weird but it’s not. Scallops were plump juicy and fresh. Great neighborhood resturant.

After reading the reviews here, I came here for dinner with a friend. When we went inside, the host was busy talking on the phone. I wasn’t too sure whether there was another area to go or if I had to wait for the host to finish talking on the phone… I had to to wait for the host. I wasn’t amused. We sat down, I ordered grits & cheddar tots, mb caesar salad and dry rubbed murray’s wings. Food is excellent. The wings, my goodness, absolutely try the wings. Crisp and juicy. Service was alright. Not to be picky, but the couple next to me dropped a plate and I saw a waiter practically running away so he won’t it clean up. Okay, brushing something up is not that difficult but the fact that a waiter/waitress had to be called to get help… really? Good place though.

Update. Minus 1 star. Market Bistro has lost its charisma. I reviewed this restaurant on 10/24/2013. My rating was 3 out of 5 stars. I have returned a few times since then with my husband, my daughter and friends. Not one of them want to return, and truth be told, nor do I. Why, do you ask? Attitude. Example — 1705 on a Friday night. Hello bartender! How are you this evening? We’re having a staff meeting, what can I get you? Oh, I’m sorry, the door was open, are you closed? No. What can I get you? Do you have any Happy Hour specials? We’re not that kind of place. Rewind. We’re not that kind of place. WTF was that? Was it even necessary? How about the bartender try this: We don’t have any Happy Hour price specials but we do have Dogfish Head 120 on tap! How awesome is that! And, I make a great martini too! No, she tried this — I’m getting back to the meeting. If you know what you want, fine. Otherwise, I’ll be back in 15. Attitude. My friend just wanted to walk out. We probably should have. However we stayed. We ordered marinated olives for an appetizer, friend had steak and I had a braised meat dish. We looked over at the other tables and everyone had a bread basket. Friend asked Why didn’t we get a bread basket? Reply — Because you didn’t ask for one. Attitude. We didn’t stay for desert. There are so many other choices on Long Island. I choose to go someplace where my patronage is well received.
