Nice sports pub. Tons of TV’s and big screens. Great seating and layout. Sports-pub-ish décor but cleaner. Very friendly, smiling and welcoming staff. Totally a plus and gives that ‘we wanna come back here’ vibe. My husband and I popped in for a Sunday afternoon snack and to watch football. The place was empty when we first got there, but filled up quickly just before the game started. The staff were cool about putting the TV in front of us at the bar, to the game we wanted. The bench seats/booths all have their own TV’s.(I forgot to ask if they get NHL games…) Lots of pool tables on the left as soon as you walk in, great variety of seating from tall tables, to lower ones, benches and bar seating. Table hockey, driving, basketball and pin ball games make it a really fun place for groups. They even have Ms. Packman stand up video game! The beer was cold, there is a good variety of spirits to choose from. The menu was average as far as choices/variety. Your typical(and well-loved) choices of burgers, sandwiches, finger-foods and basic salads. My husband had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with fries, and I had the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus(with cuke slices and celery sticks). My husband was satisfied with his burger/sandwich but said it could’ve been a big more generous with the fries. My hummus was good, nothing special(from a container maybe?). I would have liked it to have more bite/flavour and maybe offer a more colorful choice of veg. As far as vegan eats, only the garden salad(omit cheese etc) or the hummus fit the bill.) I have to say that the veggies were VERY fresh in both meals and fun presentation. :) You can look at their menu on their website. Good dollar value for the food. Parking was okay. As I said, we got there and there were not many people. The lot is shared with other businesses so it could get busy. There is an outdoor area for smokers, but it seems smokers also congregate in front of the main doors. Bathrooms were totally in need of a good cleaning, specially the walls/doors, inside the stalls. The rest of the bar(our spot at the bar, the floors, the lights and main entrance) were nice and clean. In order for me to give this place more stars: More variety of food choices… maybe deserts and a «The Break Signature Item»? Also, cleaner bathrooms for sure, and maybe a live performer?

The Break is a nice, large, clean sports bar on James Island. My friends are obsessed with Buck Hunter. They were mind blown that I had only ever played Buck Hunter once or twice college. I was mind blown that they played so frequently and that Buck Hunter is no longer an arcade game but in fact a flat screen television. And this is exactly how I wound up at the Break. Of all of the random bars I’ve been taken to on James Island(and it’s a lot oddly a lot), the Break is the nicest and newest of them. They have pool, darts, Buck Hunter, Golden Tee, etc. and the place itself is huge. The bartender was super fun and spent the whole time talking to us, probably because we were the only whack jobs in there shooting deer on a Saturday afternoon. I killed a lot of cows, shot a few bucks, and still don’t really understand my friends’ undying love for Buck Hunter, but it was a really fun spot. Sports bars in general aren’t really my thing, but I really liked this place. If you’ve ever seen Eastbound and Down, then you will understand and appreciate this reference. This place totally reminds me of Shaboom Shabooms.

Great atmosphere, staff, and food! And the bar/beer selection is perfect for a casual drink after the beach or to meet up with friends for a game. Plus, if the game isn’t interesting there are plenty of fun arcade games for everyone to enjoy! We have always had a blast here! Plus park is super easy with the big lot. A must go!

Slow service. Bad menu(all fried). Empty bottles all over the bar. Had to ask for another beer every time. Had to ask for my tab multiple times. The kid at the door was nice.

A clean, sports bar offering decent wine, yummy food, skee ball, air hockey, electronic darts and pool… Yeah, I’m shocked it could come together so well. This space has been overhauled and cleaned up. The lights are up, revealing how clean the floors, bar and bathroom are. The menu has about 10 wines, red and white, stored, priced and poured properly. The food was great. I tasted a quesadilla and put down some chicken nachos. A little heavy on the salt(I usually don’t complain about this) but overall delicious. This will be my go to spot come NFL season…
