Avoid if you can. Spend the extra money on a different place or just get something to go. Sat at the bar because I was at the airport a few hours before my international flight. Service was excruciatingly slow. Bartender was closing up the bill of the people next to me, but failed to give me a menu or anything for a while. Had to ask for one. Order the chicken tenders because there was literally nothing else that looked appetizing. Regrets for picking this place.

$ 60 for 4 drinks from a shitty bartender. Sammy, I don’t know who you are but I hope you rot in hell.

After passing on Bonfire by Todd English, decided to try this spot before our trip across the pond. Sat at the bar. There was one elderly looking bartender standing on the other side of the circular bar fiddling with bottles, trying to avoid eye contact with us. After 10 minutes of this nonsense(was it a shift change or something?), we left to spend our money elsewhere…

Had lunch here while waiting for my connection on October 16⁄2014. Ended up with food poisoning(Campylobacter jejuni) after eating their chicken quesadilla. Tests confirm above diagnosis which affects poultry. Beware!

Dirty and with ny attitude. The place is a dump which matches terminal 7 well. The waitress at the bar had an attitude as if she owned the place. Did I mention dirty?

I’ll give this place 4 stars because although the food might not totally warrant 4 stars, this is as good as it gets for a place to eat in the airport terminal. Pork sandwich was surprisingly really good. The pork was plentiful and it tasted great. Sandwich was served on a brioche bun which should be done by all places that serve burgers or sandiwches of this sort. Only thing I would have wished for more of would have been a little more sauce. Potato chips that were served with it were good although I am a french fry person myself. Service was good a little pricey but its in an airport so whatever.

Too price for the quality and freshness of the food. Everything was cold even the chicken.

Zero stars actually. Wanted some lunch before a long flight to London. Sat down checked out menu, made my choice. Only 1 other patron in the place. The server saw us sitting there and never came up to serve us. After 15 minutes got up and left. Sammy’s loss was mcdonalds gain. ohh well I am sure that there will be wine and food on the international flight

As far as airport restaurants go, this place is really good. Service prompt. Food surprisingly fresh tasting and delicious. Shrimp beach salad, nachos and a couple of draft IPAs did not disappoint. Gates 3, 4, 5, and 6 are visible from the restaurant.

If you’re stuck in JFK with time to kill before your flight, this isn’t a bad place to get a drink, or two, or four depending on how long your delay turns out to be. There’s nothing special or noteworthy about the bar with the exception of the bartender I had the pleasure of meeting last night. Dan made a horrible, horrible delay in JFK bearable. He chatted and joked with us when things got slow, made sure our drinks were full, and helped keep a smile on our faces the whole time we were there. He was a true bright spot in our trip! If he’s there, make sure you say hi!

This place is the typical Airport restaurant bar– no surprises. It’s a place to get a drink while your flight is delayed. However we got stuck in JFK for 6 hours yesterday and without Dan behind the bar it would have been a nightmare. So this review is not about some cheesy Chevy’s-like with an over the hill never-been on the nameplate. This review is about Dan. We were at the end of the worst trip ever flight delays coming(5 hours in Chicago), family emergencies in the middle and flight delays(6 hours at JFK) as we were trying to leave. Basically the only thing that kept us sane was how nice and friendly Dan was. So– if you’re stuck in JFK terminal 7– head over to the bar at Sammy Hasbeen’s and ask for Dan. Dan is the man.

It is your typical airport bar & grill. Love seeing the Sammy Hagar and Chicken Foot memorabilia.

My flight was delayed at JFK and I came here. Just your average bar. I got a Stella Artois and the chicken tenders. It tastes exactly like what you think it would taste, which is acceptable. Pretty good for airport food, but my bill came out to $ 24 after tax. My beer ended up costing more than my entrée for some strange reason.

Stopped by prior to boarding the plane. Had the chicken fingers, wings, chips and guacamole. Chicken fingers were on the colder side when served to us. Wings are just like any other. Guacamole was just mashed avocados with nothing mixed into it. Great and quick service!

the beach salad was tex-mex-ish with corn salsa, avocado and a lime dressing. the chicken tortilla soup had good flavor without being too salty. a good find for airport food. i’ll eat there again when i’m in terminal 7.

This place is actually not that bad for an airport. Wanting to get something full and hearty before boarding our plane and not wanting to spend much, we just happened to find this place. I am a Sammy Fan to begin with so, it was a good start with me :) We were greeted by a very friendly server and seated promptly. They have a nice basic selection of american/mexican cuisine, with a little edge to it that all seemed to be reasonably priced. I ordered the foot long hot dog and a bowl of there chili. My babe ordered a plate of chips and guacamole. It arrived with in a reasonable amount of time, presented pretty tasty looking. My hot dog was good(did not eat the bun) but the dog was good. It came with these fried chips that were extremely tasty, which I had to stop my self at one point from eating all of them :) My chili was tasty however, a little too much on the greasy side. I also did try a few chips and guacamole that my bf ordered and certainly was not crazy about the guacamole, tasted just a little too cheap and processed for me. Overall, the atmosphere was nice and spacious, the service we received was extremely attentive and friendly and the food was decent enough to pay a visit again while at the airport

Sammy Hagar themed grill at JFK. I don’t get it. Great service at the bar. Friendly and efficient staff. The tables near the bar, service not so good. Sat at a table for about 10 minutes, never had a server come up. Moved over to the bar, it was all good from there. Decent quick bites between flights.

In Terminal 7 at JFK, it’s the more moderate priced sit-down restaurant rather than take out. The lime chili chicken tenders came on a bed of lettuce with some cole slaw and homemade chips. The chicken was extremely moist and tender, not heavily fried. The sauce though, there was something in the mix of lime and chili that I couldn’t put my finger on but it was off. Not horrible but I guess a mixture I am not used to. It is the«medium» sauce in ranking of hotness. The iced tea is fountain. Blah. The margaritas are normal from a heavy mix even though they contain Cabo Wabo tequila. Service was fine but it wasn’t overly crowded. Some Sammy Hagar memorabilia hanging on the walls and they played nonstop Sammy original songs for half the time I was there. The bar is large, there are sit down tables, and large screen TVs against the wall to watch the games while you’re waiting for your flight.

I was stranded in NJ over the holidays( ) and my Newark to SFO flight was rescheduled to JFK to LAX to San Jose a couple days later. Once at JFK I found that my 747 had a flat tire and United was«borrowing» one from British Airways so it was going to be a couple hour delay. Great. That’s when I spotted Sammy’s. I didn’t put two and two together until I saw the signs pushing Cabo Wabo tequila that«Sammy» = Sammy Hagar. «Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill serves American fare with an island twist featuring a menu that is the result of recipes and advice that Hagar has received from some of his favorite friends and celebrated chefs across America.» Wings & other apps, salads, nachos, sandos, burgers. With the recent blizzard I was told they hadn’t received regular deliveries in a few days so much of the menu wasn’t available except a few sandwiches and a fruit plate. Cuban sandwich? Sign me up. Oh, and Fat Tire on draft? Extra large size please! The sandwich came out on a plate with corn chips( ). It wasn’t pressed like a traditional Cuban and looked like it had been oven toasted and then re-opened for pickle insertion. Taste was OK with the roast pork a little dry and pretty heavy on the mustard. I was expecting the baguette to be a bit stale from their comment on supply delivery, but it tasted pretty good. I guess I should have been thankful to get anything decent with the 3 – 4 ft snow drifts we drove by getting to the airport. 3 stars for the food. Good people watching too. Hagar donates the profits from his restaurants to local charities(isn’t it nice being rich?). Bonus star for that.
