New Jin Nails

The new owner, Jane, is super sweet. All the workers are also super nice. Always loved this place because it’s very clean. Also the décor is cute, and the place is not dingy like all the other local nail salons. They’re always do great work, they really get in there and clean under your nails and cuticle. They also have a good selection of gel colors and Essie nail polishes. I usually come in for a gel mani and have had no issues with it not last or peeling off quickly.

***UPDATED REVIEW*** New Jin nails is under new management… Came back in because my current salon was swamped. The new owner Jenny (she was previously just a worker) is an absolute doll and a perfectionist. this was a great surprise! Keep up the Good work!

Absolutely love this place… the owner Kim maybe a bit rough around the edges but I have been coming here for years and will continue to come here.
The salon is very clean, the workers are very attentive to your requests and the prices are pretty reasonable.

My first few times going I loved it. The service was great, fast and well done but I’ve hit my limit. The past two times I’ve left seriously pissed because the nail tech was sooo lazy! She took FOREVER with mani pedis and her work was crap. The absolute last time was there, I asked for the file and clippers and re did my nails because I was over it! I’m paying my hard earned money for this? And you expect a tip? I let her put on the polish, I paid and left leaving NO tip.
BTW in regards to other peoples comments about Kimmy being rude to customers I TOTALLY agree. I’ve witnessed it many times and it’s disgusting. If that place is still open next year I will be stunned. Worst nail salon experience.

I was looking for some where new and after reading a few great reviews, I decided to try Kims. I’ve got to say, after my first try they quickly became my go to nail salon. They do an ok mani and padi, Grace who I believe was the best is no longer there. I decided to try the UV gel that Kim advice being that I had put a few rhinestones on my nails, this was a horrible idea. There was way too much gel on my nail and the entire thing became extremely thick and ran onto my cuticles, Kim saw that my nails were a hot mess but still charged me full price AND extra for the gel. I was leaving for a trip the next day and I was very disappointed. I decided to give them another try and this time I was getting tips, I told Kim several times I’d like them to be thin/​natural looking, she paid little to no mind to my request and just rushed my nails to quickly get to the next customer, my nails were thick and nasty looking, they lasted less than a week. I will NOT be giving them a third try.

I hate that I even have to do this. I have been coming here every two weeks for the past 7 years. Annie is the woman who has been doing my nails and does a wonderful job. Today was my last time. Kim, the owner is very friendly and welcoming. For some unknown reason, she doesn’t like my sister. When I brought her in the first time, she was fine with her. The second time around she didn’t even acknowledge her. Long story short, even though my sister felt uncomfortable because of the way Kim treated her, she still came with me. I would walk in and get a warm welcome. Once Kim saw my sister right behind me, she would turn away and disregard my sisters greeting. The past visit, my sister went with her husband to get manicures and pedicures. Kim skips right over them and allows two people that had just walked in to be taken care of even though my sister and her husband had been waiting first. Kim says the two people had an appointment but when one of the women heard her say that, she said «no I didn’t it’s okay, Ill wait» but Kim «shhh» her and sat her down. My sister walked out. Today similar situation. We both went in and I was taken in. My sister had to wait. Fine. It’s an hour now and a technician became available. My sister is next in line but Kim jumps right over her and picks someone else. I asked her right away why and she said because «she can wait the other technician is almost done» but the girl wasn’t even halfway done! And regardless it was my sisters turn.
My sister and I are hefty tippers. For a manicure and pedicure which is $ 15 mon-​thurs we give a $ 10 tip each. We understand it’s a discounted price so we still take care of the technician. There is no excuse as to why Kim should be disrespectful. We arent loud or rude. Every two weeks for 7yrs. She can give two craps. She didn’t offer any apology and simply shrugged her shoulders. My only regret is not getting Annie’s number. She does one hell of a job.

Great nail salon and very inexpensive. You get greeted as soon as you walk in and everyone is extremely nice and friendly they take care of you right away unless they are busy, and even when they are they still make sure you don’t wait for long. Kim, the owner is great she is funny and really nice she helps you decide on what you need. They do regular mani for $ 7 and pedi for $ 12… they also do a nice lacquer which lasts 2 weeks without you having to do anything and like a month putting a top coat every 2 weeks and depending on how quickly your nails grow they can last even longer. This lacquer makes your nails look natural and really shiny without making them thick for only $ 25! I live in NY and I used to get calgel downtown but it ranged from $ 40 up to whatever it cost for everything you decided to get. With Kim I save a ton of money and my nails look great specially when taking a vacation I don’t have to worry about them at all :-) I really recommend this place the massage for your pedi and mani are great and while your nails dry you get a nice back massage which is always welcomed :-)

Super serious french manicure. Don’t be shy and not tip, cause when they remember you gave them a hefty tip. Somehow you get royal treatment. Now, the first encounter with the staff was warming and inviting. I felt like my sister was doing my nails. So Comf. I like to pronounce the value of a good nail job. Constantly looking at my hands.
I usual get a nice cold beer before I visit this place. Try it out

I have been going here for years and continue to go when I want a very warm and friendly place. They greet you like your the president as soon as you come in unless they are seriously busy. The owner has a huge purse fetish and if she likes your bag will ask if she can see your purse and touch it… lol!She is a pure doll and will always know who you are even if you haven’t been there in a while. Very personable place with customers baby pics on the wall. Also, After a speedy and pretty job with your nails you are treated to a ten minute back massage while getting your nails dried! I havent gotten anything else but a mani and pedi but i know alot of people come in for their wax services as well. I know they use to run specials mon-​thurs for 15.99 mani-pedi.Not sure if they still do but a mani will run you 7 and i think a pedi under 14 bux, the combo around 20. Anyway Love New jin nails!
