Popped in here on my way to the train station, I normally avoid any of these crap stores in that crap area. But I was hungry and wanted a slice, but was really surprised who good the pizza was. Great crust, good sauce and not salty like some of these places could be. This is some good pizza.

I posted a review back in November but it was deleted by Unilocal when they removed Georges as a «closed» restaurant. I returned in March 2013 and it is still not closed and I questioned the employee who says it is definitely George’s Pizzeria and waas never closed… but who knows how accurate that is because he doesn’t know who George is… so here goes the repost. When I ate here today, November 28, 2012 the place was definitely open and not closed as reported on Unilocal when I searched. The same name is on the sign above the restaurant but who knows, maybe it was closed and then reopened. Anyway, my favorite thing about this place is the location near the Long Island Railroad Jamaica station. I eat here before going to the airport. The guy behind the counter has been pretty consistent, meaning it’s the same good service and same guy every time I’ve been here. There are a variety of premade pizzas which you can order by the slice. I had the«white» pizza today and the regular no topping pizza. Two slices and a can of coke cost $ 6.50. There was plenty of cheese on the white pizza. I’ll post a picture along with this review.

Wow. Who knew great pizza could be found on Sutphin? Ask for the slice well done in order to experience greatness. Does it supplant PizzaTown in Elmwood Park, NJ? No. But it does compare well to Angelo’s in Maywood, NJ. There is no restroom for customers so hopefully you washed your hands before coming here. If not, then make sure you throw away the part of the crust that you touched. DONOT use a knife a fork-you may get thrown out for that. They offer several slices aside from the plain. I noticed a ricotta slice, a veggie slice, a chicken parm slice, and a meatball and sausage slice. But whenever I visit a new pizzeria, I only order a plain slice. They also sell sicilian slices, but they didn’t look very good; which I found odd at 1pm. Aside from the pizza, they also offer calzones and some fried goodies. As far as drinks go, you can choose from canned soda and Snapple beverages. Whenever I’m coming from or going to JFK via the AirTrain-Georges will be a regular stop. Yes, they’re open…
