Would be nice if they actually kept knitting needles in stock.

I have always wanted to learn to knit but I never seemed to find the right place to learn. Other yarn stores I encountered were never really inviting and my schedule never seemed to match up with the big corporate craft stores. Being new to the Jacksonville area, I thought for sure there had to be a place around. After jumping on Unilocal,I came across KnitWitz. I not only checked their store out here but I also reviewed them on Facebook and Instagram as well. I happened to come across a tv interview they had done and the owner seemed super friendly and down to earth so I thought I’d give it a try. I scheduled a beginner class for my Mom and I and we had a blast. Not only was the owner patient and extremely knowledgeable but the other knitters were just as nice and friendly. I have now been back several times and no matter what the owner may be busy with, she always stops to help me out with what I need. They not only have a good selection of yarn but also have lots of literature and patterns to choose from. Needless to say, I’m glad I have not only found a great new hobby but also a great spot to support this new hobby.

This is a great little store, and the owner is wonderful. They carry Rowan yarns(woohoo!) and have a decent assortment overall, but it seems like they have more of the fingering /lace /dk /sport weight than worsted weight. They have some bulky as well. A nice assortment of needles, but if you want longer circulars you probably have to order. The location is not ideal — I much preferred their other location on Old St Augustine. Still a good yarn store, especially if you’re new to knitting or knit with lighter yarn!

Great local yarn store. They have a pretty good selection of natural fiber yarns. I thought prices were very good for the high quality brands. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful, but also gave me room to browse and pet skeins. I would definitely recommend, especially for higher quality soft wools like merino.
