I’ve been going to this place for 40 years. It is a normal stop when going to see family. They have some of the best pork sandwiches with pimento cheese and they can make it as spicy as you like. This is where all the locals go for lunch and dinner.

I really don’t get this place and why people go line up to eat there. Basically 2 things on the menu: grilled Cheese sandwich or what they call a BBQ sandwich which is nothing but about 1oz of meat(maybe not even that much) between 2 pieces of toast. Oh I forgot you can get pimento cheese on it. That’s it

This is a must visit while in Jackson if you like a good unique pork sandwich. Our son always gets two outside combos with fries and the whole family has something.

In 2010, I moved to this area from Kansas City. So, my advice when considering Wib’s Drive In, and acknowledging that they use the word«Bar b que» in their advertising, is that you put away all notions of racks of ribs, stacks of brisket meat, piles of pulled pork or bowls brimming with pit beans(like one would find in KC)… Okay… Are you there? Are you open for another definition of barbecue? Good. Because this place is different — and it is good. What Wib’s features is «toasted barbecue» sandwiches in several iterations. My favorite is an «Outside Combination — Hot.» That means that the sandwich is assembled with outside or «bark» meat from a smoked pork shoulder, placed on white bread spread with a bot barbecue sauce, homemade pimento cheese on top of that, then topped with another piece of bread — and then pressed /toasted into warm, smokey, cheesy, spicy greatness. Their fries are very good, but the side that’s the best is their homemade vinegar /sugar slaw. Some of the best you’ll ever have. The service is excellent. This place is a local favorite and a slice of local flavor. So do yourself a favor, and enjoy Wib’s today for what it is: unique and very good.

Very unique. Actually went here based on Unilocal reviews. Staff was super friendly. Food was good. I expected a little more meat on the combination sandwich, but it was good.

First I want to say I love this place. I grew up eating it and it remains my favorite place in SEMO. Best sauce ever! That said, they are kind of tight with the meat for the price you pay per sandwich. The meat itself lacks any smoke flavor. To me though the sauce more than makes up for it. I wish you could buy the sauce! I also wish they’d open a location in Cape as well so I could get my fix more often.

My husband and son always have to stop at Wibs whenever we are in town. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays to that sometimes becomes an issue. They generally like the«minced» which is like a smoked pork salad sandwich, the combination which is homemade pimento cheese with barbeque pork and the«hots» which are thinly sliced smoked pork with hot barbeque sauce. I like the«regulars» which are the same as the«hots’ just with regular barbeque sauce. My guys like to order a sack full of sandwiches when we go, they are the size of a standard piece of white bread, nice and toasty, thin, not heaping with meat. This place always seems to be crowded, it’s a local institution in Jackson. You can dine inside or get take out, they offer sides but we usually don’t order them. I got the fries last time and they were plentiful, I was able to share my order with our group of 4.

I grew up visiting my grandparents and relatives in Jackson every summer. My mom also grew up in Jackson and retired there a number of years ago. So Wib’s is a place that is kinda in my blood. My grandfather was a vet and had his business directly next door for many years(now gone). There’s not much here I don’t like… maybe the ‘relish’ sandwich. But everything else is outstanding. It’s really an institution in Jackson and the surrounding area. When I go with my mom or uncle we almost always run into someone they know. It’s a simple concept… white bread sandwiches with BBQ pork shoulder from either the ‘inside’ or ‘outside’ meat. Option of a homeade pimento cheese spread — which you would think would never work but OHHHH it does!!! Fries are amazing as well. When I visit I usually find a way to eat here every day(sometimes I have to sneak out so my wife won’t lecture me on overdoing it). When my mom visits us in California I make here bring me some on the airplane. If you’re ever in southeast MO make sure you go out of your way to get here!

The BBQ is unique & wonderful. The fries are the best ever. The sweet tea is great, too. A long-time Jackson hot spot. Great service, too.

Awesome local BBQ joint… Unique toasted BBQ sandwiches… Add homemade pimento cheese for a great tasting combo. Long-time owners are family friends. People from long distances away make sure they stop off I55 for a Wibs(fix) when possible! :)
