When this restaurant was marialindas I used to go every once in a while, but I haven’t been since it was taken over. I like to give new restaurants a few months to «iron out the kinks» so to speak. Well it’s a Friday night at rush hour so in a pinch I figure I’ll grab a pizza for the family. It’s been a long week and I don’t feel like cooking. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much. If anyone’s read my other reviews you’ll know I’m a big coal fired pizza fan. But I was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was quite good. Thin crispy crust, not too much sauce, generous with the toppings. Sausage and onion, my favourite. I have found in the past that these small pizzerias tend to be overly generous with the cheese, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but if you put a lot of cheese on the pizza then the oven had better be hot to crisp up the crust or you end up with a soggy mess from all of the oil in the cheese. Luckily this pizzeria didn’t make that mistake. The right amount of cheese and the oven hot enough to crisp up that crust nicely. Quite good. I think I’ll try this place again in another couple of weeks to see how they do with a cheesesteak. I try my best to give 5 star reviews if they’re deserved, especially for small businesses, but I took off one star for 2 reasons. It was HOT in there, very sticky. I was only picking up but I wouldn’t be able to sit down and have a meal with it that hot. While the wait staff weren’t rude or bad in any way, it doesn’t take much to smile. We all have bad days but a smile goes a long way. When you don’t smile it makes customers feel as if we are bothering you by coming in and ordering. Granted I wouldn’t be happy working in a place that was 100 degrees, but I’m a genuinely nice guy and I always smile and am always nice, return the favour.
