Great bakery to have access to in the neighborhood. We always end up buying cakes, weekend morning coffee and biscottis from here. Customer service is super friendly! con– cash only. For items that look unpopular, make sure it’s fresh. Once I got a sugar free cookie and it was stale. But note, only one time.

Eh, I’m always skeptical of Italian bakeries around here, and apparently for good reason. Skip.

I’ve been coming to this bakery for YEARS !! I remember an elderly lady used to work here. than a man who looked like he was in his 20’s. Now just 2 girls work here. Pastries are great. Croissants are my favorite, also their bagels with c. c(when they do use their toaster)

I’ve been coming here every sat and sun for about 10 months. I love their coffee; the girl makes it exactly how I take it: skim milk + one sugar. Sometimes, you don’t get what you ask for these days when all you have is a simple request such as that! Good to know there’s still small simple places like this left out there. Also recommended: el pan de bono. Yum. This bakery has been around FOREVER and will continue to do so I’m guessing. :-)

This is not the most grandiose of bakeries but they have a variety(lol) of cookies, cakes, and breads. I go mostly for coffee, a croissant, a roll, danish, some random ham and cheese danish thing and a Snapple. It is simple, the workers are super friendly and work quickly. Don’t go there expecting some fancy place. It is a neighborhood Bakery that has been around for ages.

I live nearby and have only been here a few times because I did not like anything I tried. The butter cookies taste like they are made with shortening and just don’t taste buttery — for Italian butter cookies in JH you are better off at Carrolo on 37th Ave between 76⁄77. For Italian cookies in general you are better off in Astoria on Terrizzi Pastry shop 351430th Ave where all the Italian cookies are out of this world. I didn’t find the bread at Variety to be any different than the Italian bread distributed to delis or grocery stores.
