I love this place! I have never been disappointed in the food or the service! Their vegetarian options help close a major gap in availability for the area. I’m really happy to have them in my neighborhood and will be spreading the word!

Here’s the deal. The best Chinese food in Jackson Heights, although the pickings are pretty slim. I order from here frequently because I’m vegetarian and they have good vegetarian options. The downside? They almost ALWAYS screw up my order. Like always.

Over priced and the food lacks meat along with flavor. It’s a little healthier but less proportion. Most of the time if you order something with meat they give you more veggies or rice.

I can tell they use fresh meat and vegetables. It’s so good to finally find a place that caters to healthier alternatives. The flavor is authentic and the portions on point. Not too much i feel like a pig, but not too little i can’t save for the next day on a light night. The fact that I’m willing to save instead of throwing the leftover out should tell you how good this place is. I’m very picky and I can’t find one thing to complain about.

I haven’t really had a bad experience here. It’s by far the best tasting take out I ever had. I usually get General Taos here and I noticed when I ask for it extra crispy its get to me a bit dry(via takeout). Yesterday I asked for it the same just a bit more sauce and I was super pleased. Never a bad bite of chicken either it was super crispy and sauce was on point. This place is less greasy than the others as well and the l pork fried rice is really good. You CANNOT go wrong here. This has officially become my go to take out place. Oh and the fried wontons are the bomb!!! Ima order them again today lol

Just moved to the neighborhood and decided to try the takeout food as it has descent Unilocal ratings. To be gracious with my review, all I have to say I will not be a repeat customer. Plus menu selection is limited compare to other Chinese take out places.

I had to update and upgrade my review to 5 stars. Their service and the ability to customize to your taste is perfect! I highly recommend this place!

I had a long day at work and didn’t feel like cooking, so I wanted takeout while watching Narcos, okay? My friend had told me to check out Saw Shack a while ago when I moved to the area, so I figured, why not. The DNAInfo article I’d read months ago also helped; I like when businesses have a certain story. I ordered the broccoli with garlic sauce(quart) to go; the food was priced reasonably. It was nice to hear the order barked into the kitchen in Cantonese. As I was glancing through the menu, I saw a lot of vegetarian specials(you know, beyond vegetables). I read that the owner’s father had worked at Zen Palate and Gobo in the past, so the next time I stop by, I’ll be sure to try more. Food was great. Service was very warm. I’ll be back!

Best Chinese food in the neighborhood. The people are friendly and the delivery is fast. The food is very good. The fried chicken wings are great. I tried many dishes garlic shrimp, jambo shrimp and chicken with fried rice, etc. All tasted great. Also the food is inexpensive, definetly worth the money.

Super super impressed from my first encounter with this place! Small order of shrimp and broccoli for $ 7 could not be any better! Omg! Did u see the size of those shrimps??? Huge! I’m in love and so glad the owner here takes constructive criticism and uses it as a tool to improve their quality and do better! Definitely going back and perhaps the best Chinese take out in the neighborhood!

It’s our first time trying this place and it was really disappointing. First, we ordered takeout and it took over an hour for them to deliver the food when we are only 2 blocks down. I was that hungry and it’s Thanksgiving eve, so I understand(I guess). However, the food was really not good. We ordered a pepper steak with onions — which was mostly onions and maybe like 3 – 4 pieces of steak. We also ordered General Tso chicken and it was really dry with zero sauce and it was burnt red. I’ve ordered General Tso chicken from many different Chinese takeout places in the past and this is by far the worst one ever. We just ate the pork fried rice only which was a waste of money. Chee– it was the same night I posted this comment.

Fried Chicken Wings = BOMB. My co worker had the Beef and Broccoli lunch combo — Great Flavor without the sauce residue on the bottom. Fried rice was pretty good too. We ordered the Fiery Wings as well, kind of too saucy for me, but wasn’t bad. We opted to take out as it was on the colder side to eat in. Kind of Smokey in there as well. This is a great example of the 2nd Gen influence on Mom and Pop businesses. Its hard to find Take out food like this with good service. I will be back!

This was my neighborhood Chinese Food Take Out Spot. It was a hole in the wall but clean and EXACTLY what you would expect from your local Chinese Food Place. This past year they got a beautiful facelift. However, the food, it just was not the same. In the past, there was this older guy that always made my food, and he made the best sweet & sour soup I have ever tasted. I ordered it at countless places in Flushing and Manhattan. I also tried a couple of other places in this neighborhood and still fell short. Do not get me wrong, the food is still decent and fast but, say bye-bye to the bigger portions and your free can of soda. Oh and no more hot mustard sauce? What is that?

Undoubtedly the best Chinese take-out for miles. Definitely the best hot and sour soup, egg roll, and fried rice I’ve ever had. The soup is full of flavor and the egg roll is huge and crispy and not greasy at all. They have unique menu items such as saw fiery wings(AWESOME), beijing beef, basil beef, and pork chop with peking sauce. The décor is also unique as it’s hip and cutely decorated with beautiful plants and adorable chalkboard art. Their daily complimentary fruit infused water is really dope and nice to sip on when waiting for your order. Service is fantastic! Everyone is unbelievably friendly and delivery is always much faster than they say. Oh, and they accepts credit cards. That convenience is so crucial and not a common practice in the chinese take-out world. I love that this place is in the hood and as I am ever so proud of being from Jackson Heights/Elmhurst, I love that the owners are a local family! Thanks for representing, Saw family! I dig yall’s swag.

Per suggestion of a fellow Unilocaler, i got the Fried Chicken Wings(4) with Pork Fried Rice and it was the bomb! I feel Saw Shack has a lot of potential but certain dishes are hit or miss. The Chicken and Broccoli just needed something more, and the Orange Chicken tasted strange. But the Fried Chicken Wings hit the nail in the head, thus 3 stars. An additionak star for very nice atmosphere, complimentary candy and delicious fruit fusion water. I look forward to trying other recommended dishes.

Best general Tso’s chicken I’ve had by far. Had it with brown rice. Would categorize it more under gourmet Chinese food. Really good. The restaurant itself has a modern vibe to it. They have a huge chalk board with their specials on it in different color chalk. They also have a pretty cool logo. First Chinese takeout restaurant that I see the people having a «uniform» which is a shirt with the logo on it. Bottom line: food is great, will def. come back again Sick atmosphere, and still gives you that takeout vibe which is great.

This Chinese food joint looks better than the rest of those crowded and dirty Chinese restaurants in all NYC. This place once a small crowded restaurant, don’t know the original name. Now they turning it into a cool Chinese restaurant, with a chalkboard on the walls. There food is A ok, not too greasy and not too salty.

New age Chinese take out. The inside looks like a revamped and modern Chinese take out. The menu does offer a respectable amount of vegetarian options and they do offer brown rice which is a nice healthier option. The menu is a few bucks more than the average Chinese take out, it is a tad pricey for what it is. Beef and broccoli and an order of wings came out to $ 13. I ordered take out. The food: Saw Fiery Wings– the chickens wing are coated in a sauce that is similar to General Tso’s sauce. I thought the wings were good, they were juicy and had nice flavor. When ordering I asked if the wings were spicy, I said I like spicy food and the spicy level was adjusted. Beef with Broccoli– I thought the portion was rather small, the flavors were good but very run of the mill, I did think the beef and broccoli was oily though. The beef was somewhat tough but the broccoli was cooked nicely.

Overall pretty good but definitely see potential for greatness. Looks like a lot of thought was put into how to make this modern and appeal to the younger crowd, but the only thing that might be keeping it from really moving forward is the menu. Honestly, the food kind of tasted similar to regular Chinese takeout. While marinade it really well to be tender, my beef and broccoli had some beef with a lot of fat. My friends Mongolian beef dish also didn’t have much beef but a lot of onions. I enjoy the wings, they almost tasted like Korean fried wings. Rather than the big bulky eggroll that’s normally served at regular Chinese restaurants this one had a smaller one that seemed like it was homemade. Not bad. Service was great, the cashier was really nice and I can definitely see the entrepreneurial spirit within him. In an area where Chinese takeout is adequate, would be nice to see more Malaysian dishes. I’ve been in this neighborhood all my life, and would love to see more savory, exciting, spiced up Asian cuisine. Overall, good experience, and good establishment. But I think it could be great. And would love to see this family take it there.
