So classy and elegant place, food are so good! My favorite was mix sea food(Jalea) and the chicken. Me and my family visited this many times, can’t remember how many. All I know is… their the best restaurant ever!

Parking is a b*&^(. But this place is definitely a great place to take a date. The décor is very modern yet cultural with low lights to accentuate the our sense of taste and smell. The place is very spacious with the new expansion so you will probably have no trouble walking in at anytime. I got the Matador’s special as I always do at both Pio Pios. The chicken was a bit over-seasoned. The breasts were overcooked to about 175F-the meat was quite stringy and dry. The french fries and tostones were on point! The green sauce and rice and beans were amazing as always. Even though the chicken was overcooked the green sauce and seasoning makes up for all the mistakes in cooking execution! The food is still amazingly good and always worth the visit!

I’ve never enjoyed and absolutely HATED a dining experience at the same time but thanks to Pio Pio, I now know what that feels like. I had dinner with relatives last Wednesday and like always, some of us shared a Matador which was of course, delicious. Simple but hits the spot. Everything else that we ordered: soups and ceviches were either inedible or average at best. And the prices, $ 28 for an ehhh Lomo Salteado at a generic Latin food spot? Nope. But the absolute worst was the deafening noise. They had a live band playing at top volume and it was impossible to have a conversation with even the person sitting next to you… much less anyone else at the table. We all left with migraines and we could not get out of there fast enough. That made the ½ hour our server took to bring back our cards even more painful. I, for one or anybody else from that party of 10, will never be dining at Pio Pio ever again. Not that they’ll miss us. Clearly they have their market so I wasn’t even going to bother with a review but then I thought it might help someone not ruin their night who doesn’t know how things work there. Thank goodness for Uncle Peter’s nearby. Quality food and service. No need to ever go back to Pio Pio. A once great restaurant that ruined itself by switching locations to fit in more people and make more money… even it it was just across the street.

I have been to the location on 10th Ave in Hells Kitchen and absolutely love it, but recently moved to Queens and decided to give the one in Jackson Heights a try. The clientele is not the same as the one on the city, but that’s not a bad thing. The ambience at the Northern Blvd spot has more of an open airy feel, and the food is equally as good to the other location. The service is ok, and as for the food, everything I’ve tried at both locations is delicious, and you’ll definitely want to order the canchitas(Peruvian corn) to accompany your meal.

Where do I start… this place is Amazing and the ambient is unique. Kind of loud becuause of the high ceiling, but the food makes up for the noise. Came here with two friends and order the paellla. The portions are family size and the flavors are BOMB. Must order a pitch of RED sangria.

If you’re craving chicken at a restarant that has plenty of seats(except expect a bit of a wait if you have a large group) then come here! I’ve been to the Pio Pio in Manhattan, which is tiny compared to this giant warehouse. The food is fresh and the chicken is good. Lots of food for a good price.

I came here with a friend who never visited Jackson Heights and there was so much food that it felt like Thanksgiving… and at a great place! It’s always impressive to say that you are in a neighborhood with some of the most diverse food in the city, but once you can say you have a Peruvian spot near you? #winning The chicken is tender with just the right amount of saltiness and the fries with mini wieners, totally cool and quite different! The really great thing about this place is its large space and dark lighting. I went mid week at around 6pm and not only did the food come quick, I felt comfortable waiting! The music was nice and you definitely feel like you stepped into a world, or a country away from NYC. Muy Bien.

The rotisserie chicken is exceptionally juicy and tender. Salad with big pieces of avocado and tomato, excellent with the slightly curry taste of green sauce. The calarmari is crispy and tasty that keeps me picking on the plate. The restaurant seating is really comfy and pleasant with high ceiling. Light is a bit too dim though for me. Just feel the waiter is not really friendly, perhaps because we did not order any drinks.

Okay there is a very good reason why I am giving this restaurant a 4 star rating. Just keep up with me for a few. I am Peruvian and I know I am not an expert in Peruvian culinary but I have a pretty good idea of what Peruvian food should taste like. I’ll be completely honest and say the only good thing Pio Pio has to offer is their chicken aka Pollo a la Brasa. I’ve been coming to Pio Pio for YEARS! And every single time I come here and the people I come with, we all order the chicken combo. Don’t get me wrong I HAVE tried other of Pio Pio’s dishes before like ceviche, lomo, Jalea, etc… But it just does not taste that good. Their specialty is Chicken and that’s the only thing they’re good at. The sangria is not that good and not that bad. Depends on who is serving you and how they’re feeling that day. I know that sounds silly but I’ve had the sangria on two occasions and once it was good and the next time it was terrible. The Pisco Sour is OK. I’ve had it only once and it was nothing to get crazy about. It’s a beautiful restaurant and it gets crowded easily on weekends especially at night. But the waiting time is barely ever to none. Every time I’ve went there the customer service was good. I’m telling you, if you come to Pio Pio try the chicken. It has a great flavor to it. It’s very tasty and has a great savory seasoned texture to it. I suggest getting it with salchipapa(hot dog with fries) and avocado salad. That is one of the combos. Besides that I recommend you not to get any other dish at Pio Pio.

Pio Pio has a fantastic selection of Latin American cuisine. The food is generally served family style and there is always more than enough. The price is especially fair for the portion size and the quality. The atmosphere is not too loud but it is definitely active, I’ve never seen the place less than full. Although the wait has never been long either. Would definitely recommend to friends. The seafood paella and the roasted chicken are especially delicious.

First and last time to visit this place the service was horrible. I ask for a manager and a waiter Name Geraldo came to the table. He doesn’t have any management material. It is sad that my wife was looking forward to try out this location.

I have visited this place several times and even had a birthday dinner setup for my boyfriend there. The staff is the best very courteous and knowledgeable on menu, ingredients and honest with recommendations. The prices are very reasonable and portions are huge! The ambiance is trendy but you can be casual and feel comfortable. The place is huge with a beautiful outdoor sitting area. I have visited in afternoons and in evenings and had quick and very polite service. The lomo soltiado is really good my boyfriend loves it. The chicken is very tasty and the wine and drink selection are great. The avocado appetizer I absolutely love love and recommend. Parking in the area wasn’t that bad either it is certainly worth going to Pio Pio. Lastly my girlfriends both have toddlers and the staff was so amazing and accommodating with the kids. It’s just such a friendly place it’s refreshing to see genuine smiles. :)

Last night I re-visited this place against my will because I didn’t like it the first time I tried years ago but I figured okay maybe its changed lets give it a go. We ordered the the«famous» sangria. Horrible. Super sweet. I asked the waiter if they added extra sugar. He said yes. There was a moment of silence. I thought he’d say okay give it back to me and I’ll fix it. He remained silent like a deer in headlights. So I said can you fix it? He answers I can add seltzer water or ginger ale. I was like what?! No. That wouldn’t fix it that would dilute it! How horrible. Then we had the empanadas. Mediocre. The green sauce saved it. Finally I figured the Arroz con Mariscos would save the night. No. It didn’t. It was horrible. The rice was dry. The calamari was rubber-like. It was a total disaster of a night. Not to mention the horror show in the bathroom. Totally gross. Definitely a waste of time and money. I really feel like people who enjoy Pio Pio have no clue about a truly amazing gastronomical experience and lack a refined palate.

Matador Combo + Sangria Pitcher ^that’s all you need to know! sometimes if you’re going on an empty stomach and the sangria gets you woozy, you might want to order another dish which only costs about 9 – 14 $ each! They didn’t have the loud mexican band playing so I was super excited about that. I believe they are there to play live every wednesday night! Staff was super attentive and continued to circle around to make sure we were enjoying a good dinner. They have street parking and it’s right on northern blvd with a bunch of other restaurants so it’s hard to get the metered parking right in front. You’ve got to go to the residentials but there’s a fire pistol canon on every block it’s so annoying. kekeke FIREINTHEHOLEEEE

We got the matador combo, which offers a full meal enough to feed a family for only $ 38! With it, you get: 1 whole rotisserie chicken, salcipapa(hot dogs on top of french fries), avocado salad, rice and beans and tostones! It’s served alongside their famous green sauce, which is delicious and so addictive. Just pour it over your entire plate and you’re all set! The food is good, although the chicken was a bit dry. Service was so slow, which is understandable if it was busy but crazy for being one of four tables(–1 stars for this) FYI– We replaced the tostones with the maduros for free. Def recommended

Found the outside wrapper of a hand sanitizer wipe in my salad around 8:30pm on 12⁄21. It was in the middle of my salad, not on top. I chewed on it for a bit before I realized a foreign object was in my mouth. I come here often maybe 8 times a year. Today we came here for my brothers 20th birthday. Truly disappointed that this happened as it ruined my dining experience. I’ve always loved the Metador Combo as well as all the other options here. Now I’m just turned off and wondering how clean the kitchen really is. Waiters and bus boys and service in general are always nice. However, I cannot overlook a half a hand sanitizer wrapper in my food/mouth. It’s over for us, Pio Pio. Adiós.

For $ 51(before tax and tip) we got 1 avocado salad, 1 entrée(lomo saltado), 1 side of maduros, 1 dessert(piononos) and 1 beverage(sprite). The salad was not dressed so I would not order that again. We didn’t like the piononos so again, wouldn’t order again. We did like the lomo and the maduros.

Meh. Nothing spectacular about this place. Myself and 5 friends made a reservation for a Friday night at 8PM. The place wasn’t packed to capacity but maybe half. The service was lacking from the moment we sat down. We found ourselves looking for our server plenty of times. The food itself is OK. The calamari was just OK. We also shared a shrimp and avocado appetizer which was the best plate ordered all night. I had the garlic shrimp dish which came in second place. We had tons of drinks so we enjoyed ourselves, but I don’t think I will be coming back.

We like Pio Pio. This is the first time we ever been to this location. It’s huge! Much much more bigger than the Woodhaven location. We were here with our friends for dinner on a Friday night. We were seated immediately. The staff here were really polite & friendly. Great service! We ordered the matador combo, the chicken empanadas, & the mozzarella pio. The matador combo comes with a whole chicken, yellow rice n’ beans, tostones, salchipapa, & salad. The portion is definitely good enough for the 4 of us. We were definitely satisfied with our meal. The food were all pretty good as usual, just like other Pio Pio location. Love that green sauce! Perfect dipping sauce for the chicken & the salchipapa. The décor is nice. Great for a date. It’s also very spacious. Great for a big group. It can be somewhat noisy inside but it wasn’t too bad when we were there. We didn’t have to shout when we were having a conversation with our friends. We’ll definitely go back!

What happened Pio? You moved across the street and got fancy on Brie? The live band is cool if you’re into screaming your orders at the waiter and texting your party the entire time because it’s too damn loud to hear. When I sit down to dinner I like to enjoy the food and my company while partaking in good conversation as we break bread. The entire night the band sung, «Happy Birthday». Occasionally they broke out in dance when they switched it up for a minute to play a different Latin tune. It’s incredible that everyone was celebrating a birthday. Please insert sarcasm here and proceed to the next sentence. That sh*t got old fast. I ended up having a headache. We ordered the Calamares Fritos and Sangria to start. I thought we were served onion rings because of the cut of the squid. The rings were cut way too thick. After awhile it became too chewy and slimy. The sangria tasted like cheap wine. Halfway through the sangria I had to remove my straw because the fruit was getting stuck. For shame, Pio! We shared the Matador Combo which consisted of mama Juanita’s rotisserie chicken, yellow rice, beans, tostones, salchipapa, and avocado salad. We were served maduros instead of tostones which we didn’t ask for. I requested the fried yucca instead of the salchipapa. Everything was amazing and we were beyond full. The fried yucca needs works. It was overcooked. The green sauce complimented everything in such a way I felt a mini orgasm take place in my mouth.

This was fantastic, totally unexpected. Ambience, décor, live music made for a great experience. The green sauce with the empanadas and whole Juanita chicken was delicious. We also ordered a side of fries and it was more than enough for 2 people. But I have to say the best part was the Tres Leches dessert! It was so so moist and just the right amount of sweet. To top it all off, the service was so fast. We ordered and our food was out in 2 – 4 minutes. Yes, seriously. Servers kept coming back to check on us and were very friendly. We asked for take out boxes and the famous green sauce to go and he actually gave us little plastic containers of it! Perfect for leftovers.

Great huge open layout space crammed with tables but offers a lively atmosphere. The menu options are surprisingly limited but each dish packs a mean punch… to your wallet that is. Although, they’re pretty pricey the portions(say that three times fast) are generous and usually made to share. Our table of 5 dined on the matador combo and lomo saltado. Both dishes were delish, but I enjoyed the lomo and the avocado salad the best. No one touched the salchipapa(diced hot dogs over fries) because c’mon are we in elementary school? Great sangria and good service!

This restaurant is HUGEEE. I’ve never had to wait when I go so that is definitely a bonus from the start! I always get the Matador Combos which comes with 4 pieces of rotisserie chicken, a plate of rice and beans, a plate of hot dogs and fries, a salad that comes with avocados, and a choice between soft or fried plantains. GETTHESOFTONES. On the side you get this green sauce that you will end up putting on EVERYTHING. I honestly have no idea what it is but I don’t question it because it tastes AMAZING. I am a ketchup lover but I don’t even touch the ketchup they give me when I am there because all I need is the green sauce. I always ask for more green sauce that is given cause it is just that good! The Matador combo will feed 4 people and is $ 36 The sangria there is reallllyyyy good! You have the option of white or red sangria. Both are super good and you can try a sample before you decide which one you want to get. I think a pitcher of the sangria is $ 32 or close to that! Kinda pricey for the amount you get but I always get it cause its soo good. The food comes out pretty quick so another bonus! The downside is that on some nights they have a live band play and it gets annoying cause you end up eating dinner in silence and just waiting for the music to stop so maybe you can speak to your friends, just MAYBE…

This is my 2nd time going to Pio Pio. My first time was at a location in midtown. I believe there are several Pio Pios around the city but since all of us are nearby the neighborhood; We decided to eat there instead. The 4 of us came here on Saturday night. And we knew we had to wait longer than usual to be seated. That night the line stretched from the back of the restaurant to the front of the entrance. Surprisingly, it moved quickly and we only waited 15 minutes. The minute we sat down our starvation mode kicked in. We were ready to order in less than 3 minutes. We got a pitcher of sangria(red), Peruvian combo, and a Jalea(Peruvian fried rice mixed with seafood). The sangria was way too sweet and it was strong. After 2 glasses I left the place feeling slightly buzzed. The Peruvian combo was delicious like always. And as for the jalea, it tasted okay.

I went to Pio Pio recently for a friend’s birthday dinner. We shared appetizers: Calamari(tasted okay, but I prefer my calamari crispier) and the hot dogs with french fries which was delicious. The appetizers actually filled me up so when my main course of Peruvian chicken fried rice(I added shrimp a well) came, I could barely eat any of it. The fried rice was very tasty though… Full of flavor! I also tried some of the tres leches cake and it was wonderful! Just the right texture and consistency, with plenty of sauce to soak the light, fluffy, tender cake.
