Key Food

First of all this is one of the grimiest super markets in Jackson heights. The food taste like the employees bad attitude. Everything I buy from here mysteriously is missing expiration dates, which leads me to believe they scratch them off. Many of the healthier products are so overpriced, I don’t know who is buying them. The cashiers always give you a hassle when you let them know an item is ringing up at the wrong price. And the prices! They have the prices printed on little square pieces of paper taped above the items and they are sparse. So if you can actually find the price of the item you’re buying usually it’s not the same price when you check out. Unfortunately this is the closest 24hr supermarket to my apartment, so I find myself in here buying essential items at night on several occasions. I wish they would open a new supermarket nearby. I always leave this place kicking myself for spending money here.

This used to be Compare Supermarket now it’s Key Food. Same owners just different name. Dominicans. All the best Latin products for Latin taste. Great Dominican hot food at the deli and all the best cold cuts. Low prices. Caters to the neighborhood and does a good job at getting you in and out in a hurry. Like any Latin supermarket packed to the rafters but you’ll find what you need.
