Compare Food

This is a pretty fantastic supermarket. They always have great specials/​deals, fresh produce, great meat selection, tons of seasonings and aisles upon aisles of EVERYTHING you could ever want in a supermarket.
They even have lots of «ethnic» items that are not available at other supermarkets in this area. The staff and cashiers here are friendly, knowledgeable and I always leave here with a smile on my face.
Compare Foods also closes pretty late. I had to run here at 10:20pm one night because I had an «emergency» and didn’t have enough eggs for something I was making the next day (lol) and there they were, open and happy to help.
This is most definitely my favorite supermarket in the area :).

My regular grocery store –this place was pretty standard before all the renovations took place — now the aisles are 18 inches skinnier but there is a ton of food here — they have an ENTIRE AISLE (one side) devoted to organic foods, soups, dressings, ingredients, etc, and another HUGE section of veggie frozen foods. It’s awesome. Their soymilk is also cheaper than JH natural foods on 37^th and their soy cream cheese, etc. The produce is also good and they always have a cart of just-​past-​its-​prime produce for $ 1.00 that is always just fine. besides that it is a pretty typical jackson heights grocery store — every brand of malta & every flavor of jarritos, frozen mamas empanadas & an entire goya aisle. they close at 11:30pm
