1-star is probably too generous. Only buy non-perishable items as the place is filthy The floors and shelves are very dirty Very disorganized unpacked boxes in every aisle Majority of items do not have price tags Luckily there is a beautiful, new natural food store in Jackson Heights!

I’ve never liked this supermarket. I’ve passed by this store hundreds of times and have probably stopped in twice? The produce and meats don’t look fresh. The prices are just okay. There’s never anything worth the time and effort to carry back home and they don’t carry anything interesting. No fresh produce or meats = nothing to buy.

I thought it was improving because the produce seemed to be getting more attention and turnover, but I now see how wrong I was in thinking that. While there this morning, a NYC subway sized rat, simply STROLLED from the door leading back behind the meat department… over to a 5in panel gap in the base of the long wall of produce; where it entered and did god only knows what. I’m officially done shopping at this store.

I’m so fired up right now that if I was able to give this place negative stars I happily would! I’ve been coming here for over 2years now and though their service has always lacked and been careless, I never bothered to really write about it or complain to the manager, but after my visit today I can say that I WILLNEVERBERETURNINGHERE! I rather walk 10 blocks down to another supermarket. This place is by far the worst customer service I have ever received, ever!!! So this is what happened. I went grocery shopping here earlier today and saw that they had a sell on Canola Oil, but I couldn’t find the item on the shelf. I went to the manager and asked him for help and this was our convo: Manager: Go check aisle 5. Me: I did, but I can’t locate the item. Manager: That’s all we have *walks away*… Me: A bit confused, but decided to walk back and purchase a different brand of oil I go to the cashier: Cashier: Rings up the oil at $ 11 something… Me: I thought that the oil was on sale for $ 6.99? Cashier#2 Across the register: IT’S ONLYWITH A $ 30PURCHASE Me: Ok, well I don’t want it and I’m go to pick up another one Cashier#2 Across the register: GOPUTTHEOILBACK *Mind you, she’s standing there laughing and talking with her other co-worker with no customers* Me: Your quite rude and I thought that was your job? *Anyways, I proceed to go get another oil and come back* Cashier: *Manager comes in to void the past item transaction* Me: You know your staff here are very rude, and your customer service is horrible! Manager: Looks at me, completes transaction and walks away while staff continue to chit chat, laugh and eat… Now I understand. When management itself is so bad, how can the staff be productive and provide«good customer service?» I vow to never return back to this HORRIBLESUPERMARKET! EPITOMEOFBADCUSTOMERSERVICE. Do yourselves the favor and AVOID!!!

Seafood«selection» if I can even use that word was terrible. Basically cod, salmon, tilapia, the end. There was a sign saying more fish in the freezer case, but all I could find there was some prepackaged seafood mix that frankly looked neither fresh nor appetizing. This is basically a Hispanic supermarket, which is fine if that’s what you market yourself as, but not if you are marketing yourself as a general market.

Excellent Manager and staff, all are helpful and friendly. The store is well stocked if you can’t find it here, you won’t find it anywhere. And someone is always there if you can’t reach an item.

The worst place to shop in queens. you can find fresher fruit at king Tut’s tomb in Egypt, the cashiers are rude and the meat is discolored. When I was shopping there I saw two cars being towed away one of them the lady was inside the store, this place has predatory towing, spoiled food and rude staff. STAYAWAY

1. Decent Prices 2. Friendly and Helpful Employees 3. Nice Music 4. Short Lines 5. Very Clean All the cashiers are very nice, but Ingrid is the nicest one of all. She does her work quietly and is always kind and amiable with the customers. :)

Fair prices and selection on most everyday things. Produce section is to be avoided at all costs, if you have any sense of decency(try Met, Mi Tierra, or Trade Fair instead). Not the best supermarket, but it’s very, very close to our house. The lines can be kinda long depending on when you go. I like that they let you buy singles(beer) here, as many supermarkets don’t like when you do that. C-Town definitely wins in a contest of most inscrutable store name, though, as I’ve no idea what the«C» stands for, and it simply sounds crazy(but in my estimation, this is a good thing!). My wife says someone who worked at another location told her it stands for«cheap» as in «cheap town» but I think this is just as insane.

perhaps not the best organized supermarket — but pretty clean and with decent prices — this is a welcome find in Jackson Heights. being only two blocks away from my friends’ apartment means I often swing by here to pick up beer and snacks before I stop by. anywho — the beer selection here tends to be fairly standard, but they also have Woodchuck cider in at least two varieties. a rare, but pleasant find. also, a great selection of cookies. seriously, what the crap Pepperidge Farm… why must you make so many delicious options…

1 word: «Clean» the other grocery stores around here arent kept up as nicely as this C-town. when i first moved here and checked out the Bravo food on roosevelt i was terrified id moved into a bad neighborhood as it always smells like kitty littler and rotten meat in the back i was thrilled when i came across this place, its clean well kept and very close to home. now its not the best grocery store in the world by any means, but it has all the basic items you would need for day to day cooking/eating. my only complaint is the lack of organic/vegetarian produce.

Grocery shopping in New York City leaves a LOT to be desired. I didn’t grow up here, so every time I grocery shop in the city, I just feel so depressed. I miss HEB. In any case, C-Town is my closest grocery store. The breakdown: Pluses: + decent prices + carries Mexican products(queso fresco, tortillas, etc) + has a cheaply priced store brand + good sales + close to home + carries vegetable bouillon, which I have a hard time finding elsewhere + roomy Minuses: — horrible produce; looks ok, tastes horrible — surly service(this is everywhere in the city though) — am I supposed to tip the baggers? — nothing organic is sold here ATALL Overall it’s fine. It gets the job done, and I can always grab other stuff at Met Foods or Patel Bros. EDITEDTOADD: They now carry a very limited supply of vegetarian products(about 3 each of Boca, Morningstar, Gardenburger)
