Outdated equipment, and very overpriced. $ 300 for a mediocre cleaning and x-rays, and then Dr. Fey did not have«enough time» do actually look at my teeth, and wanted me to pay for another consulation. No thanks.

I went to Dr Fey three times. I liked him very much. He is smart and funny, did what I needed done. His staff were helpful. My daughter ENJOYED going and their staff. All around pleasant experience.

Pros: 1.) Smart, modern, clean practice(very open and airy inside) 2.) Parking OK 3.) Cleanings good 4.) Staff friendly/pleasant 5.) Do thorough work Cons: 1.) Repeatedly failed to get through on the telephone as a prospective new patient, even when calling during their office hours. My initial voicemail was not returned. 2.) Not cheap… Conclusion: Recommend for the well-healed…(or the well-heeled :)

I had a root canal and crown done by James Fey a few years ago. A year later, I was having the same toothache I’d been having before the root canal, and went to a different dentist. She referred me to a root canal specialist, who said that the tooth was irreparably damaged and had to be pulled, and that I had wasted $ 1000 on the root canal and crown. If I had gone to a specialist from the start, that wouldn’t have happened. Dr. Fey is not a root canal specialist, and should not be performing them. Also, while performing the root canal, James Fey stretched my small mouth open further than it could go, and THESKININTHECORNERSOFMYMOUTHRIPPED open. I did not know such a thing was possible, but sadly, friends, it turns out to be quite possible. And yes, it is as horrible as you might imagine. Eating and talking were painful for several weeks afterward, because every time I opened my mouth, the scabs would crack and tear apart. I’m a really shy, sweet and non-confrontational person, and rarely complain about anything — but I felt so upset by this that I told him what had happened when I went back for my followup visit, hoping for some consolation or explanation or apology. Instead, he actually laughed in my face. Unbelieveable. He’s not just incompetent — he’s an asshole! Update: Some other folks have reported good experiences — perhaps he’ll do good work if you’re a local who he knows will be back for repeat business. But evidently he has no incentive to do good work on transient college students like myself.

My family and I have been going to Dr. Fey for over 20 years — we have had only positive experiences. Dr. Fey and his entire staff — from receptionists to hygienists — have, without fail, been caring, compassionate and professional. Dr. Fey, an extremely skilled dentist, also devotes his time to volunteering his services to children whose families cannot afford dental care.
