Nice portions. Monday– Monday was Pasta Night at Gino’s and all things considered it’s a rather nice deal. Good food however, I am quite pleased I didn’t pay full price for the meal. The roughly $ 14 meal consists of any pasta dish on the menu, a glass of wine or soft drink, and dessert(your choice of a cannoli, cheesecake or a third most likely, equally crappy dessert) We will start from the end, working our way backwards, to the nice basket of bread. –The cheesecake was awful, actually only vaguely resembling anything close to a cheesecake; I think they just took a sponge from the back and covered it in a pastry shell; The cannoli was indeed a step above that but, not the greatest. Now the meal, served piping hot, with my tasty raspberry Iced tea,(wasn’t in the mood to take them up on the free glass of wine) was quite tasty, and at a price already a couple bucks above the pasta night special, well worth the cost. It all started with some nice hot bread and butter, and with oil on the table, we enjoyed it better than other places we had been too at an even lower price. Not amazing, but a good, cheap meal on Monday night. …and Tuesday afternoon with the left overs you will surely have.

We would go to Gino’s on a somewhat regular basis and never had a problem, so my bf and I went tonight and found out it was closed… what upsets me is I went there a week ago and bought a gift card for a neighbor that was having surgery, if they knew they were closing in a few days they should have never sold us the gift card or at the very least tell us they were closing, so it was a waste of money… classy move Gino’s …if they open back up we won’t be going back

I booked a communion party six months before the date and got a call 3 weeks before the party from the owner saying they are being closed down due to code violations and can’t host party. I was understanding and ready to book party in their other place 20 miles away in Bellmore thinking they’d bend over backwards to accommodate me and they tried to charge me more for a party I had to move bc they are being shut down! Finally, guy offered to give me same price I already contracted for and to throw in some apps. I was like let me get this straight 3 weeks before my party you cancel on me then try to hose me? I’d rather burn the $ 2500 I was going to spend than let them see a dime of it. If they were professionals to begin with they wouldn’t be in code violation and being shut down!

My kids and I love coming to Gino’s to grab a slice and sit at the window bench and people watch. I grab a slice of the marinara pie every time… it is amazing. Best pizza around!

This place is a regular favorite of mine, and t It is a gift that I work so close. Their pizza is superb, especially the buffalo chicken slice, but I’ve also tried the grandma and found it wondrous. It has an ideal consistency of crunchy and soft. The tortellini soup and pasta fagioli are excellent, well seasoned soups. The Paninis are worth waiting for, even if they are a bit pricey. My personal favorite is the spicy buffalo, but the Luigi has proven delicious as well. They usually have plenty of seating for lunch, and willingly let take out customers sit in the dining room.

Ugh! Ordered a chicken parm hero, hacked up small pieces of chicken, almost a baked ziti like consistency, scooped into a hero! Unacceptable! This is Long Island, we know you can do it better!

The food is usually pretty good, we have a couple dishes that we get regularly for take out. However, last night we wound up taking my parents there(only because mulberry street was an hour wait) and the experience was horrendous. There is a heavy set waitress with a doughy face, maybe in her 40s, that is the worst waitress i have ever had. Cant tell if she was new or extremely stupid. She didn’t know what we were ordering, and after a few minutes came back twice to ask two of us confirmations on our orders. Pretty much everything we asked her to do she did wrong. She was also unaware how much time to give people to look at menus. She was hovering over us and talking rudely. She was the worst. I could go on. I’m not eating there again.

I have not dined in, yet, but they deliver. We tried it, and we LOVED it! «The Little Gino» panini is delicious. The delivery service has been excellent, from the person answering the phone to the person delivering the food. We are so glad that this gem delivers. Can’t wait to dine in the restaurant!

Hubby had the Bolognese and I had the Emilio. The pasta was perfect, very tasty & a lot of food for the price(I’ll have lunch for work tomorrow)! Our server was nice and attentive as well. Definitely coming back!

I visited Gino’s for the first time on Friday Aug.17th around 5:30pm. We were a party of 12. I had the chicken stack and the experience of a bug in my food. Our waiter took care of the problem. I’m sorry to say that the service was horrible. We didn’t get out of there until 9:30. We kept looking for our waiter dyeing of thirst. Having to ask for everything whenever he came back to the table which was maybe every 15 minutes. We didn’t see many waiters or waitresses and no bus boys. Anyway food was good but because the service being so bad i wouldn’t recommend your establishment to others

This was my first visit here, and I sure do regret that decision. My pasta dish(Rustica rigatoni) was swimming in a pool of liquid that tasted nothing like the sauce it was supposed to come with. Our waiter who was very friendly only came over to take our order and hand us our check. No one came over to ask how our meal was or if we needed anything. Even after trying to grab his, or any servers attention for a refill on our beverages.

I always immediately regret my decision to go here. There was once a legacy in Islip of Andy’s Pizzeria. During my high school years, this place transitioned from from Andy’s to Gino’s and a steep decline that would bring them from 5 stars back then to 1 star present day. I walked in to the same cast of characters who were once customer service oriented and pleasant to the staff arguing with one another, a half-full pizza display, and an overcrowded dining room that was loud. They’ve sacrificed quality for quantity, and alienated locals in the process who want to believe that there is more than just money being made here. Take a trip up to Angela’s on Moffitt Blvd and Route 111 for a real slice of pizza.

I mean… there are soooo many pizza places on long island… it is hard to rate or compare them all. However just as the two star count sayd — Meh. I’ve experienced better. My buffalo pizza was dry as my elbows… and my grandma slice tasted stale. not gonna go back.

I don’t think I could give it 0 stars and have it count. Horrendous service as always. Ordered a dish I usually have and they made this normal pasta dish spicy. I sent it back for replacement and the replacement was good but I only ate ¼ of it as I was now eating alone since the wife finished her dinner. I sent it to have it packed and they threw it out instead. The help were too busy flirting/bs-ing with the teenage girls that sat next to us as I noticed other table orders were also incorrect. Gino’s had service problems since the day they opened and probably will forever which stinks because the food is good when they get it right.

One of our go-to favorite places. consistently good food. no problem customizing, kid and larger party friendly, love the cocktails(hey a Moms gotta do what a Moms gotta do!) and the children adore the pasta and dessert! The staff is especially friendly and competent — one night a server went all the way to a supermarket because they had run out of half & half for our coffee(we didn’t ask — they just did this!) they go out of their way for regulars and newcomers… we love to eat here!

worst of the Ginos franchise. I wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t affiliated. For a Ginos pie just go down the road to the bay shore one. now thats a Gino’s!!! Its not even on this website so only true pizza eaters know what I’m talking about.

Went here yesterday for a bite to eat. This place gets 2 stars because the food was OK and the service was ghastly. Our waitress was either a super bitch or super shy. Either way in the hospitality industry, you can be neither. She was annoyed by our very presence. Our party was large and had to be split into two tables, she brought bread to only one table. When we asked for more bread, 10 minutes into sitting(that’s when she came back after taking our order to bring our drinks) she said sure but never brought more for the second table. After delivering our drinks, we didnt see her again until it was time to ask for the bill. I asked for a refill from a food runner and 15 minutes later my cup is still empty. The food wasn’t bad but not great. The bread that comes before the meal was fantastic. I ordered a small bowl of minestrone soup and that was really good. It had an incredible homemade flavor to it and it was so filling. I split an order of buffalo wings with my sis, I had been craving them. When they brought the«buffalo» wings they were dry, no sauce on them, just fried wings. I asked the food runner if they had buffalo wings with buffalo sauce on them, I got deer in the headlights look. Then she says«umm we have like a buffalo hot sauce?» And I said could I get a side of that? I was curious as to what it might look like. She brought it out and lo and behold, its buffalo sauce! Nice and spicy but just not on the wing. I had to awkwardly dip the wing in the sauce which was actually pretty decent. I will not be making a return to this place, even if I end up in Islip again!

Went here on a Thursday night around 7. Great atmosphere, food and friendly waitstaff. The booth next to us was 4 kids around 14 years old with no parents or guardians present. They were having a great time. I reminded me of when I was that age. Anyway, the food was very good. We started off with salad and bread along with a glass of wine and a beer. Decent selection to choose from. Dinner was great. I had the pan fried chicken cutlets on mixed salad greens, cherry tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella with a lite balsamic drizzle. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the medley of flavors tickled my tongue. Cait ordered the chicken with spirals which was also very tasty. Filling with so much pasta but nice to have leftovers. Dessert looked delicious but there was no room left. Total bill was about $ 50 with tip. I would recommend to anyone.
