Love this place! It’s our neighborhood hangout. Great staff, really good bar food and an awesome volleyball atmosphere in the summers! Decent bands on the weekends and bowling in the winter. If you haven’t checked it out, you need to.

Food was good, not great. Fun atmosphere, a ton or TVs and plenty of drink options. Our server was fun and friendly, but there seemed to be issues getting drinks from the bartender at the bar.

My family and I go here multiple times a week to bowl, and for almost any big sporting event on TV. I personally love the atmosphere and the food. The management is also fantastic!

The bar itself is great. But the bartenders are always so rude. It’s funny because I’m a server/bartender myself and know how wrong it is to act like that. They could get a great tip but now they get a tip they deserve. After looking at the reviews this is clearly common. No body likes rude bitches.

Saturday night we were there to see a band. $ 6.50 for a Kettle and soda. I had two of the lightest pours I’ve ever had in a bar. Trust me when I say I’m not looking to get drunk off a single drink but I don’t want to pay $ 6.50 for a glass of soda water either. They need to have a pour test each night to make sure they’re not over or under pouring in the future. There were three girls behind the bar that were very nice but not real bartenders. No clue how to pour a drink or a shot and the three of us felt the drinks were a waste. The three of them were also having trouble keeping up and the place was not that busy. The waitress and bus kept taking drinks still half full off the tables and the pizza was pure cardboard about half of ours was left. No one would eat it. The table next to us agreed and left more than half their pizza on the table. I’ve been there to see bands outside which was much better. I’ll be back in the summer. These are all management issue. I hope they can work on them. We like the place.

Still only a three star review had dinner here again and again the food was not good. Felt sick all night after eating here, a patty melt is suppose to have melted cheese hence the name, this cheese was laid on the cold bread and the burger put on top of it right before it was sent out, plus it tasted strange only ate half of it, I don’t think il be eating here anytime soon. I would rate the food a one star if I could. But I still the the place as a place to have a couple drinks during the summer time.

I just stopped in here for a beer with a coworker. Normally bars have Blue Moon on tap. I like ShockTop more. This place had ShockTop Lemon on tap. That was unusual and good. I took pictures inside, but only took a peek outside. There was another bar outside and in the distance I could see sand volley ball courts. This place is HUGE! I image on the weekend or during a concert it would be a fun place to be. Next time I’m in the area, I plan to stop in again.

Their food is mostly terrible now. Still a nice place to bowl but I strongly recommend eating elsewhere.

I have been going to Sideouts for several years with primary reason being for the weekly volleyball. Overall, the food is descent but nothing special. There are very few waitresses at Sideouts who do not have an attitude; most of the upper level management is the same way. If it were not for the volleyball and good live music, I would go to another bar that has better service and more appetizing food.

We love sideouts! They have great wings and two wing nights every week! Try their sweet heat or sriracha they are so good! We’ve also had burgers a few appetizers and everything has been great! They have awesome drink specials and even they’re craft beers are affordable I would def come again :)

Sideouts is one of the greatest bars in the burbs. Awesome bands all the time, good food and great drink specials. Great beers on tap and a great bottle selection. The waitstaff and Bartenders are awesome! Grab some friends and stop in for a great time. In the winter they have an Ice Skating rink set up «Bring your own skates though» The outdoor patio is amazing in the summer!

Only been here a couple times but eh it was alright. They checked my I. D twice before I could even order a single beer, which I thought was strange. If I could get into the door and pass then what’s the need to check my I. D a minute later when I sit down? Also wasn’t very comfortable with the one older security staff member(?) blatantly staring at me for ten minutes after checking my I. D when i sat down. Not sure if there was an issue or it’s that I looked young for but I didn’t appreciate it. Also there was a 5 dollar cover charge because some band was playing who I wasn’t even there to see. Lame. A good thing is that summer nights are fun. They have a huge outdoor area and a bar outback with volleyball and bags. If I happen to go back to sideouts I will have to try some food and go bowling. Not sure how it is. Island Lake is a bit of a hike for me so i don’t head out there too often.

Sideouts amazes me every time I go there. I just started going there in the summer, and there is not a better place to be during the warm season. Outdoor beach volleyball, beautiful outdoor areas. It is the perfect place to chill or come alive. It’s always completely packed in the summer. So if you like being around a lot of people, this is the place for you. I have not been there in the winter. However, I was there last month, and as usual, it was packed. When I go out, I like to be social, so I appreciate that Sideouts is a popular destination for many. The bar is completely stocked, the food is good, and the staff is friendly. I know I have only explored a small portion of what Sideouts offers. I like this place!

This is a place I thoroughly have enjoyed on many occasions. There a few bartenders definitely worth visiting who always make for fun repertoire. When I say a few, I really do mean only a few because if it wasnt for these few the service is not very good. The food is hit or miss and you will wait an extended period of time. This being said it is still a fun place to visit and it didnt keep me from going there. Unfortunately, the lack of professionalism on managements level takes precedent over all else and I will be venturing to new bars in the area to spend my time and hard earned dollars for a good time. I can not respect an establishment that makes personal digs towards another business owner publicly on their printed, and socially networked flyers.

Just saw my first major outdoor summer concert here this weekend. They staffed it like old pros — service was quick, adequate, polite — excellent considering the large crowd this place drew in. They did not run out of anything — this is usually the case when I’m at a bar/restaurant and a large event goes on, but Sideouts had got this under control. Thumbs up! Also update from my last review: the service has definately been upgraded and they although the food was always great, they’ve actually improved it since my last visit. Another bonus was that you could order from their menu or direct from their outdoor bbq. They also had a few games of baggo set up to play.

Went for the bears game. It was somewhat crowded, but the service was really slow. Our server sat down at her tables to take orders for 10 minutes. The wings were subpar and our table rapper beer was flat and warm. The waitress offered us a round of shots to make up for if, but I would’ve rather not paid for the beer. The extra star is for the cheap prices and clean bathroom. Won’t be coming back here again soon.

Volleyballers paradise! Truly the best volleyball bar in Illinois! Nothing beats this place for being summer fun. Location is a Lil bit of a hike but when u get here it’s almost like vacation. The food is good bar food w/daily cheap specials. Fried cheese curds are super yummy! The atmosphere is very laid back n enjoyable. Plenty of summer games to play. Bags, horseshoes, giant jenga, just to name a few. They always have local bands on the weekends and if you havent heard em yet, Modern Day Romeos is always fun here. Besides that they just added a nice fire pit for night time dwellers n also have a cool tiki hut type setup as well. In total they have 5 Vball courts, it’s mostly always league play but u can always find a court to mess around on.

The boys and I did some bowling at the 3d lanes and had a snack at the«eatery» part. We got a flyer for«$ 1.49 a game» bowling, which sounded like a good deal. The kids bowled two games while I watched and they charged us $ 10. Huh? The food was so-so. There were some waffle fries that had almost no flavor to them(weren’t they just fried? How could they be cold already?) and a $ 5 burger special that just tasted… off. Like a strange meatloaf taste more than a burger taste. And $ 2 for a small plastic cup of Sprite? Dood, come on! The AC was cranked up so high you could almost see your breath in the room. The kids did not want to stay that long because they had on shorts and t-shirts and they were freezing after a while. The bowling was fun though I don’t think I will be heading back anytime too soon.
