SunstoneFIT – Las Colinas Village

I really enjoy Sunstone LC! The instructors are great and I always love how I feel after a class! I love the wristbands, because it helps me set goals and keeps me motivated. They have a variety of classes and a varying schedule to help meet everyone’s needs.

I first came to sunstone with a friend, and was really impressed by the quiet in the rooms and how phones/​keys/​etc aren’t allowed… completely different from my previous yoga experiences that are social and usually park-​based. I also haven’t pulled the trigger and invested in a nice mat/​towel yet so with the mat/​towel service being included in their membership, I’m saving a big chunk of change. They also provide towels for showers, so as long as I remember to keep stretchy clothes with me it’s so easy to just drop in without needing to pack an entire bag. At first the $ 90/​mo kind of freaked me out, but there are many other studios charging more, $ 90 is kind of par for the course in DFW and again I feel like it’s a big value with the towel/​mat service and the fact that I can attend an unlimited number of classes. Once you attend so many classes your membership price drops, so if you attend regularly it keeps dropping in $ 10 increments. I also think it is a nice facility, I like that there are two rooms and that helps keep their class schedule varied and accessible, and I also really like the group of instructors. They work hard to get to know all of our names and make frequent adjustments that have helped me so much already in my practice. I’m a big fan of all they do and am very happy to be a member!

Love it here! Friendly environment with great instructor’s. The studio is warm and inviting. There’s no rush, you can go at your own pace. The «hot yoga» is was it is HOT, so make sure you’re prepared to sweat. And don’t forget the water.

Why yoga? Better balance, breathing and flexibility.
Why Sunstone? The variety of classes, the number of locations and class times.
Why LCV? The talented teachers, the friendly atmosphere and the best individual hands-​on attention.
Almost three years since joining: 800+ classes, a stronger core, increased aerobic capacity, improved flexibility, decreased stress and a whole lot of fun along the way. Sunstone has improved by swimming, cycling, running and even sex! What can I say? Thanks Sunstone! Thanks Sunstone LCV! Thank you Liz and the incomparable team of teachers and staff at Sunstone LCV. Love being there. There is nowhere better.

The only reason I’m rating it even 2 stars is because of the hot rooms being offered. I’ve only been to 2 classes and the teachers always seemed rushed or show up late. I am cancelling my membership after this month. All they care about is your money. After your «first free class» they hustle you by saying you will have to pay an extra $ 80 next time you come if you don’t sign up today. Very stupid. It’s not that great of a class even if I’m paying for a cheaper plan. would rather stick at my gym and workout there or go to the yoga classes there. WHICH IM ONLY PAYING $ 30 a month instead of $ 70 for ONLY 6 classes. So stupid again. They’re limiting your classes and it’s sooo expensive. Not worth it.

Breath deep, stretch out, and start sweating a whole lot. Sunstone Yoga is hawt and it’s awesome. After class, I’m energized and ready to tackle the day.

This is a nicely staffed Sunstone location. The ladies are friendly and helpful, the rooms are kept warm. I love the feeling I get after sweating so much in one of their classes. The facility is kept clean. My only complaint would be the size of the rooms. I really feel like they could use a little more space. Overall, great class times and I love the diversity.

I’ve been looking for a Yoga studio to join for a while now. My friend invited me out to SunstoneFIT — Las Colinas to try hers. I live in North Dallas and new it was a drive, but wanted to try a new studio and do yoga with my friend. Traffic was terrible and the 20 minute drive took 45 minutes instead. My friend said it wasn’t a problem, that she has signed me in, talked with the women at the front desk as well as the instructor. However, after spending 45 minutes in traffic, driving around the parking lot looking for spaces I finally arrived at the studio at 6:06 for the 6 pm class. Yes I understand I was late. Yes I understand you don’t want to interrupt the atmosphere, but the other 2 women at the front desk were happy to allow me in. One handed be a towel, while the other said she would show me back, but then a rude Asian lady quickly halted everyone and told me that I could not be let in because I was too late. Why if the instructor was ok with me coming in late, the other to front desk assistants were ok with it, was she in such a foul mood she wouldn’t let me in. She said it was because I would disrupt the ambiance of the class. Well, seeing as the instructor was ok with it, she kept asking my friend where I was and if I was ok throughout the class. My friend stopped halfway through the class, left the room to check her phone, and then came back to tell the instructor you wouldn’t let me in. Which was more of a disruption? Needless to say, I WONT be joining Sunstone and will not be giving anyone a good referral to this place!

They are very nice but the classes are so crowded you can’t even execute the moves properly. I wouldn’t suggest this location.

The studio was tiny, smelled funny/​musty, and it was so over crowded. I felt like I couldn’t breathe. I liked the teacher for spark and it was a decent class but some of the other teachers look out of shape. I am sorry if that’s mean, but I’m not going to take yoga from someone who is not in good shape themselves. It was mostly old people in the class. Just telling it like it is. If you don’t sign up with a membership with them the first day they charge you an 80 dollar start up fee. I don’t trust that. I would rather do something cool like pole dance or aerial yoga for that amount of money! This lame yoga and sub par studio is not worth it.

They are greedy. I had an injury that required emergency surgery and they didn’t care. My credit card was declined on the 25^th because I forgot to change it when the bank sent me a new one. Sunstone emailed me on the 28^th asking for a new credit card and then proceeded to charge me for the entire month that I can’t attend because I didn’t give them notice by the 25^th of the month. I didn’t know I would have the surgery until the 28^th (which is the day they asked me for a new credit card on file) Sunstone took payment for the entire next month and refused to suspend my account until 25^th of the following month. They have no compassion for a situation that was completely out of my control. They asked for the money, knowing they had no intention of suspending my account for medical reasons. They just wanted my money and didn’t care if I would be returning or not. I would not recommend going unless you have unlimited funds.

I travel a lot for work and really just wanted to drop in and do a class on the road. Well, affordable it isn’t, you’re looking at about 30 – 35 bucks for a single drop in class. The people that work there are super nice. My yoga instructor was great, really friendly. They didn’t really try to sell me because they knew I was just visiting.
It’s more just about the types of classes they offer. I don’t know if I did Earth, Fire or whatever, but it’s not a Vinyasa flow type yoga. It’s way more like Bikram, and I’m not a fan of that. It’s not spiritual or relaxing by any means. For sure it would probably tone you up if you did it all the time but I think Yoga is supposed to be more than just something to make you sweat. There are other yoga studios around that I enjoyed a lot more

After a few months it became harder and harder to get to the studio. I ended up canceling my membership (you have to call, but not a hard process). It’s been a stress reliever not worrying about how much money I was wasting by not canceling and thinking «I’ll go next week!»
I did enjoy the teachers and staff, they were all great. And I learned a ton! But I do enjoy a quieter practice at home now.

I went to the 6 am class with my yoga mat, my first visit to this location. I said I want to do the $ 49 as advertised on the website. Dina said if I didn’t pay the $ 20 I couldn’t attend the class and the only way I was allowed to get the $ 49 discount as advertised on their website, was if I attend an intro course at 7 pm at night. I explained I’ve been doing yoga for years, I don’t like to exercise so late, and I just moved here. She didn’t seem to have any customer service skills or know what to do. I will never go back. What kind of business doesn’t honor their own specials listed on their own website? I’ve found another yoga studio with great customer service.

I’m disappointed in the changes with adding Pilates. As a Pilates instructor who trained extensively to become a teacher, I have a hard time believing that the instructors trained properly to teach Pilates. The class structure is NOT how Pilates is supposed to be taught. I’m sure they would be disappointed if another type of trainer took a weekend continuing ed course to start teaching yoga. A reputable Pilates studio would not hire a teacher without proper training/​certification. I understand that the studio is trying to appeal to fitness enthusiasts and not just yoga practitioners, and businesses do what they believe is best for them. It is just my opinion that they are losing something unique that they previously had with the yoga community.
Having said that I do still really enjoy the Fire, Earth, and Water classes. I do miss the 90 minute classes at some of the locations, as well as the 84 Asanas class. I hope that they go back to the colored grid class schedule on their website before the first of the year – it is currently a list. I would imagine a business would want to make it very easy to read the schedule so that customers attend.

This yoga studio more focused on sales than on creating an inviting, relaxing atmosphere. I have practiced at several yoga studios over the past several years and I have never had to sit through a 30 minute long orientation where they push the most expensive membership packages and recite a long list of studio rules. I understand that it is a business and that studios expect yogis to abide by certain etiquette, but my overall impression is that Sunstone is focused more on the dollar. Not very namaste in my book.
Also — the studio felt damp, smelled musty and the clean yoga mats looked very worn.
