Service King Collision Repair of East Irving

I had an accident in my work truck last year about October 23^rd 2015. My insurance company instructed me to have the vehicle taken to Service King to have repaired. Service King promised to have the vehicle repaired and drivable in 8 to 10 days. 26 days later and after many outright lies and many trips to Irving which is 40 miles from my home they presented the vehicle as repaired. I had to pay them before I could take possession. The vehicle was not drivable and a danger to the driver and to others. My son drove the vehicle home for me and stated that is was jumping all over the road. I communicated immediately via text message to Service Adviser Juan Carlos Hermand that the vehicle was not repaired correctly and what should I do? He did not respond which was not out of the ordinary for I had to travel to Irving 4 times to talk to him because he seldom returned the text message or called. I had the vehicle towed to a reputable mechanic. He located the problems immediately and showed me the bent steering bars and that the front end had not been aligned even though I have texted messages from Service King stating that Service King would drive the vehicle and check the alignment before they gave it back to me. All communication except face to face was in text because I am hearing impaired. I paid $ 500 of the cost to repair (deductible). It cost over $ 600 for the second company to finish the repairs. I felt like Service King had lied to me, did not provide the service for which I paid them (repair to safe and drivable condition). I filed a complaint with the BBB as well and I disputed the Visa charge of $ 500 and presented all my documentation for review. After 4 months Visa agreed that Service King failed to provide the service as agreed. I was still out over $ 1,357 for rental car, over and above, what I would have paid if they had gotten the job done correctly in the time promised. About 8 days after I received a refund on my Visa card, Friday March 4^th 2016 I went outside to get in my work van and start my day and the vehicle was gone. After checking with my children to see if they borrowed it we called the insurance company to report it stolen and then the police. The police informed me that Service King had the vehicle repossessed at 3:29 AM that morning. I tried to tell the police that there was no liens of any kind on the vehicle but they kept saying it wasn’t stolen. I explained that there is over $ 35,000.00 in inventory and equipment in the van and that would be stolen as well. I have full coverage on the van and additional policy on the contents of $ 35,000.00. I called and asked to come to get my possessions out of the van and was told that I was not allowed in the yard and that someone would have to carry the items in to the building but she was only 5 foot 2 inches and was not able to do it and she did not know when anyone could do it. She told me to call back later and she might make me an appointment for Monday. She gave me the address so I went to Garland which is one hour and fifteen minutes from my home in west Fort Worth. I tried to file a stolen property report in Garland but the police said it was stolen in Fort Worth and Garland police could not do that but they came with me to the site and there was no one there. This was approximately 1:00 PM. I could see my vehicle but the police wouldn’t do anything. This place is in a shady part of town and I explained to them that there was large amount of money at stake as well as they had robbed me of my livelihood. I have photo of it and the building I took while the police were there. I have retained an attorney and I’m sure my insurance company will get involved also. I just hit the high spots of their criminal behaviors. They put my family in danger by allowing us to take the vehicle believing it was safe to drive. As for me the shock and stress of finding my business stolen from me has caused my cardiac condition to flare up. I had been symptom free for over a year.

My car was being held here until the insurance adjuster had a chance to look at it. My car had been rear ended and I was previously unable to get anything out of the trunk. They determined the car was totaled, so I went up there today to get my stuff out. The lady at the front, said they had pried my trunk open so the adjuster could better summarize the damage. Unfortunately my tools and floor jack were gone. After a big run around with their «I don’t care» attitude, I realized they got me. Even stole the change from the console. — If you take your vehicle here, make sure you take all your stuff out. They are only responsible for the vehicle, and obviously have thieves on staff.

Wow, another 10 plus minutes on hold with no answer. That makes 5!!! Calls to the poor receptionist with messages left with her and on voice mail (10 plus times)!

These guys did work on my car after a rear end collision. The work was decent but a lot had to be done after the fact. They gave me the car and I was not satisfied so I had to come back and get it altered and during the first fix they even managed to accidentally sand my back windshield. They informed me they will replace it and bring the car to my apartment. When the guy arrived (Tony) the latch to pop my trunk was not working and a tool from my spare tire kit was found in my trunk. These guys are super sloppy in their work, but offer a guarantee, so will fix any issues you have. That, however, doesn’t give me back all the days I didn’t have my car and all the time I’ve spent dealing with these guys. Tony is the only really informative and nice guy at this place, so if your insurance company recommends them, and you have no choice, make sure you talk to Tony.
