I came here with co-workers for a working lunch. I absolutely loved the ambiance, the décor, and the waiter was extremely friendly. Being that I am vegetarian, I didn’t have many options to choose from because most dishes came with either lamb or chicken. I ordered the baba ganoush-I thought it was just okay. Their hummus was better, and I LOVED the pita bread that it came with. You must try their Moroccan mint tea. It was my favorite. It’s sweet with a hint of mint. The only downside was that there was only one server working that day. So you can imagine the wait for food and drink refills. I wasn’t in love with my meal so I can’t say that I would come back. However, I think my feelings towards the menu and food might be very different if I ate meat. There were PLENTY of options to choose from for meat eaters.

The best Moroccan restaurant in all of Dallas. This is as authentic as it gets outside of going to Morocco. I’ve been frequenting this place since it opened about 11 years ago or so. The service is good, the prices are great and the food is awesome. There are other Moroccan spots in Dallas but their food is not as good(and definitely not authentic), the portions are smaller and the prices are outrageous. $ 40 for a meal for 2 gets you the works, including THEBESTMINTTEA anywhere in the metroplex. You can’t beat that. It’s family owned and operated, and since they’re Moroccan and they’re heavily involved in the kitchen, it’s as Moroccan as it gets. The family is a great, down-to-earth family too. I will continue to go to this place even though it’s out of my way.

Family-friendly atmosphere. Reasonably price. Easy parking(lot parking in front), and delicious entrees!

Well… atmosphere is tired looking. Seems kinda run down in my book. Little dirty. Trash can overflowing outside of the front door next to the dead palm tree. If the food was outstanding, I wouldn’t care. We were there for lunch. The food that we ordered was incredibly meh. Wife ordered the lamb shank. I ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich. The lamb shank was a 6.7 on a 10 scale. Tender and cooked fine, it was very light on flavor. The shawarma was equally bland. A decent pita smeared with a little shawarma sauce, a couple tomato wedges, pickles and some very tired iceberg. The few chicken morsels tasted very average. It is next to a mosque and seemed to draw on that group pretty heavily so maybe we ordered the wrong thing. If you check in, you get a mint tea comped. It is like a hot, VERY sweet tea with mint flavor.

So I’m in a bit of a toss-up with Kasbah Grill. I’m accustomed to having good Moroccan food, and I know what the authentic flavors taste like because I’ve only been consuming Moroccan dishes like tagine and cous cous for the last 20 years, a courtesy family friends that are from Morocco. The bar was already set high when we arrived, and I was expecting some really good food. There were 7 of us at the table, a couple of the guys ordered cous cous, a couple ordered tagine, and one decided to go with the Bastella. I ordered a plate of hummus for the table, it was really good, very nicely done, garnished well. The chicken tagine was delicious! In an almost effortless fashion with the fork and knife, the chicken would separate from the bone. Very tender and seasoned beautifully. The bastella was also very nice. Plated wonderfully, and decorated fancifully. The sweet & savory aspects of the dish will make any person’s pallet dance with enjoyment. The cous cous was a different story. It didn’t live up to my expectations. The components of the dish were there — the meat and veggies, and the cous cous, but what the dish lacked was harmony and flavor. The aroma and flavor of the meat and vegetables should be fully incorporated with the cous cous, but it just wasn’t there. It seemed like they were cooked separately and then put together. The other thing that disappointed me was the service. I’m not one to demand attention for everything, but our cups of water were unattended for almost the entire duration of our stay. We had to flag down a staff member to get a refill. Overall, my experience was good, minus the lack of attentive service.

I really enjoyed the food, not to mention the mint tea! The service is fabulous and the atmosphere is striking. I took my there as a peace offering and she forgot about the disagreement we had earlier. Husbands, hint, hint..

Food is great I recommend the chicken kabob under the brochette section of the menu. I do not recommend the Bastella under the specials, over priced and not good. All of the other food is priced very well and delicious!

Food choices were fairly simple but tasted good. I really enjoyed the chicken tangine. Service was a little slow but not too bad. The atmosphere is laid back so I’m sure that’s why. Not too busy. Would visit again.

Once you step inside this restaurant you feel like you went to a different country I really like the atmosphere here. The service is super friendly and attentive. Food wise we order 3 dishes the Royal lamb couscous, lamb tagine, and the bastela. The royal couscous to me has nothing to rave about is pretty normal. The lamb tagine is awesome unique really like it. The bastela is very different it savory yet sweet pretty interesting. Of course last but not least the mint tea pretty refreshing. I really like this restaurant i will be back for sure.

The food was nothing great. The Hummus and Babaganoush was actually pretty good, but the Pita was dry and not heated. The Couscous was really flavorless and the veggies it was served with was severely limited. It was basically a huge plate of couscous served with 5 – 6 bits of veggies. The Lamb Tagine was also very flavorless and tasted more sweet than any other flavors. The meat itself was actually really tender, but needed a lot of salt/seasoning. Dessert was actually much better. The baklava and mint tea were on point. The only thing I was upset about was that they only had sugar but no substitutes(E.g Splenda, stevia, etc…) The service was terrible only because of language barrier, our waiter was a nice guy but just didn’t understand 80% of what we were saying.

Excellent food. The only thing is should have pics on menu so you understand little better. Found out I’m not a fan of cous cous, but that is more personal than the way it was cooked. The mixed grill was awesome. Pita bread was good but could’ve been better, seemed store bought.

Great food and great service! Mint tea is amazing! We ordered Kasbah Maza(appetizer sampler) & vegetable couscous. Both were exceptional! Definitely coming back here.

I have never had Moroccan food before so I really don’t have anything to compare to but in my recent trip to dallas, my gf was craving ethnic food so we Unilocaled and found this place near our hotel. From what I can tell the food tasted pretty good, not bad for being out in nowhere. The place is pretty small and the service can be slow at times but that’s really due to the fact that one guy is trying to be the host and waiter for the entire floor, which can be a lot for just one person. Overall it was a decent experience.

Kasbah Grill is a Middle Eastern/Mediterranean restaurant in Irving that serves authentic dishes from this region. You’ll find a variety of regional favorites like hummus, couscous, and skewered items. There is no fusion or «influenced» menu here. This is where you would go if you couldn’t afford a trip to Morocco. My Overall Rating — 4 Stars(Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere — Kasbah Grill is located in Irving in a standalone building. Inside you’ll find a mostly red interior. Tiled floor lined the dining room, and you’ll find examples of the clay pots used in their cooking. 1 Star. Service — Our servers were nice and efficient. Being my first time there, I would have liked more of an explanation of the menu. I like learning about food, so I think that was a missed opportunity for me. But they checked in several times, asked how we were doing, and out meal came out promptly once ordered. ½ Star. Food — Ok — I’m going to be upfront and tell you to order the mint tea. It’s good(not life changing), but it also will prevent you from drinking the tap water(or order a soda… just avoid Irving’s finest tap water). We started with pita & hummus, which was an excellent start because as a fellow Unilocaler pointed out, the pita was served warm. However, my main dish was a home run. I ordered the lamb tagine thinking I was going to get stewed lamb meat. But what I received was succulent, fall of the bone, savory shank that was marinated throughout. There was no «game flavor». The clay pot cooked lamb was not only beautiful, but it absorbed the Moroccan spices perfectly. It was paired with perfectly cooked rice, and when mixed all together it resulted in a perfect bite. I think I got lucky getting the entire shank, so thank Kasbah staff! 1 ½ Stars. Will I Return? — Yes. Although it will be hard to top this visit, there is still plenty on the menu to explore. Kasbah is a bit off the beaten path for me, but it was worth the visit & a return. The Shareef may not have liked it, but I was Rocked by Kasbah. 1 Stars. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.

I was really excited to try this place from the rating and it being Moroccan, a new territory for me. I took everyone’s advice and ordered the Royal couscous with lamb it was one of the best lambs I’ve had in a long time. Not only did the meat fall off the bone, but it had an incredible natural taste that wasn’t masked by a ton of seasoning. The juice from the lamb was then absorbed into the couscous, making it delicious by itself. The mint tea was also very satisfying, especially since it was a cold, wet day. I will have to try another dish to get a better feel for the place. A task that I’m looking forward to!
