I called United Restoration & Construction on the weekend of Mother’s Day. I explained the urgency of our project and John Abajian came out SAME DAY — talk about great customer service! He came out to our office, measured the space and also explained in layman terms what would be required and done. After 8 bids from other licensed contractors, my company, Rok Hardware, ended up hiring United Restoration.
They were the friendliest, most professional and best bid by far! We received an estimate quickly and all the documentation/​insurances that our commercial business leasing office required. The best part, the job was done professionally, completed within 3 days and the project costed exactly what we were quoted, not a penny more!
They knocked down some walls in our office/​warehouse building, created a couple of openings to join rooms, fixed the celling to match the new open layout, and added all the finishing touches (re-​textured/​painted and drywalled all raw areas). I look forward to having them do a project for my home this summer. If they are good enough for PS Business Parks, they are good enough for your next project! I highly recommend them.

United Restoration and Construction is a family operated company that has been in business for over 15 years. They have done 3 major jobs for me, each one to perfection and each one always with several little extras thrown in at no charge. My wife is very demanding and they have managed to meet her high expectations completely. They will not leave until you are totally satisfied with the work. The cost for the complete upgrade of our two bathrooms was very reasonable, much to my relief.
The reason for the excellence of this company is largely due to the presence of the owner John who oversees the work meticulously. You really know that John is where the buck stops. He will not relax until you tell him that you are unreservedly pleased by the work. His is a labor of love; it’s obvious he relishes his work. This is what you get from a family-​run enterprise rather than a corporate chain.
Another feature I liked was the reliability of this company. If they say «we will be there at 9» they mean it.

Found water damage in a closet from a leaking air conditioner. The carpet underneath was wet as was the ceiling and the insulation. They came in, provided a professional estimate, then conducted the work quickly and with no fuss. The closet carpet, ceiling, and attic look great like nothing happened. Their communication and professional approach made the whole episode pleasant when it could have been so much worse.

I just moved back into my aunts house in Tustin this past August and we have noticed a musty odor that started upon entering the home. I found United Restoration and spoke to one of Johns sons Andre. He was over within an hour or 2 and performed some tests with his moisture meter and took some air test samples. The next day he determined that we in fact we had a major mold issue which infested the cabinetry below our kitchen sink from a faucet that was improperly sealed to the countertop. Obtained a quote from serv-​pro (nationwide franchise I guess) which was 1200 dollars higher and decided to contract with United to take care of the mold removal and repairs to the cabinetry. It was about a 1 week ordeal but I’m happy to know that my family and friends will not be affected.

What a joke. I made an appt on July 7 for July 8 at 1pm. I drove all the way down to San Juan Capistrano from Los Angeles to make the appt.
It’s 1pm now, been waiting since I got to SJC early, and now he says he can’t make it. He told me I should have called him one hour in advance. He didn’t even remember me after only one day. Really? It’s my job to remind you?
As far as being professional, you (John) and United Restoration are a joke!
I guess I can give my $ 50k business to someone else that will take care of their customer.

These guys are awesome. Their bid was under my other contractor quotes and the end product was done extremely well. My favorite aspect of their work was how quickly they got my family back in our home. I felt like I was at the top of the priority list which is refreshing. After considerable water damage, we were back in our home quickly. We we’re able to have them do some upgrades because they saved us some money. Top notch company.

Needed a quote this past October, and was referred to these guys by a friend.
They were professional over the phone, and came in that weekend to check out the mold issue I had. Their quote seemed reasonable, and I cared more that I had a great first impression. I mean, how do you go about choosing any sort of contracting work other than shop around for low quotes (which would make the quality of work suspect)?
Job was done last weekend, as I was out of town, and I’m content. They’ve been in business for a while, and I’ll recommend you give them yours.

I hate to give John Abajian a 1-​star among all these 5’s, but I would not recommend this company at all. John lied to me and showed a lack of moral character.
I hired United for the simple reason that John told me he would be able to arrive on Saturday morning at 8:45 and finish most of the work Saturday.
At 9:15 Saturday morning, John arrived half an hour late (which I could’ve used to catch up on sleep) to have me sign a contract, but he said his worker would not be able to come until about 12. I was VERY unsettled upon hearing this news. When John left at about 10, I called the workman, Ruben, who told me he would be here by 12 or 1… to call him at 12:00 to check his status. I wasn’t happy about the delay; why had John led me to believe he was available Saturday morning and gotten me out of my bed (in the hotel) early on my day off for nothing?
The icing on the cake was when I found out at 1:30 that Ruben still needed to go buy the supplies! I started looking for another contractor immediately, and made arrangements for Robert of Kala Restoration to come, since Robert said he could start immediately.
I switched companies on principle – not because I was trying to make life complicated for myself. I wanted to send a message to John that – in business – one should keep one’s word and not show a lack of regard for one’s customers and their busy lives.
While Robert from Kala was here, John’s guy, Ruben, showed up (at 2:23 p.m.) Almost six hours had been wasted! If John had been honest and told me he had another job before mine on Saturday, I would have found Kala much sooner!
Also, I found John to be very… arrogant… and not at all apologetic for inconveniencing me. He tried to turn it around and make it seem like I was wrong for being upset.

Was selling my house when the home inspector said there was mold in some areas. I called my insurance which was no help, then I looked on Unilocal and found United Restorations. They came out quickly gave me a better quote than another company and was able to start right away and finished when promised. House looked as good or better than before they started. I was very pleased with all they did and the ease with dealing with them. Thank you John and Andre for helping us out in a time of need.

Not an overstatement to say that John and his crew did a wonderful job on mold remediation and re-​construction of our kitchen island. From John’s initial visit to view the damage and provide a bid to the finishing touches, we couldn’t expect more. The cherry on top was that URC’s bid was among the most competitive of six proposals we received. My wife and I have very high expectations, especially when it comes to contractors and other service providers. URC met and exceeded those expectations. In a nutshell, we are so happy with the quality and results of URC’s work that we have passed on their contact information to our friend, who is a real estate broker and is constantly seeking high-​caliber contractors to refer to her clients. Well done, URC!

Ever since My friend told me about United Restoration and Construction to take care of mold problem at home, I Always call John,(the owner) to come to my house to take care of any other problems, because they have done such a great job always and in a timely manner, very professional and he takes pride in his work, I appreciate that he goes the extra mile to make the customer satisfied. Shopped around for a company that could do Mold Remediation. United Res. did Quality work, very nice to deal with I was very pleased will def. be back.
