Ok. Just ok. The food isn’t that great. They place isn’t that nice and the staff isn’t friendly. I won’t be back to visit this place.

Very good Thai lunches. I was surprised by the ingredients they are using for lunch specials especially shrimps. Will visit again if I’m craving for a Thai food in Irvine area.

BADATTITUDE, very rude. Food was fine. We didn’t like the way they behaved. They were not nice. Waitress was mean. Negative energy in that restaurant. I won’t recommend. I never go back again.

Food is not bad, but service is horrible. If you want good Thai food and good service, go to Thai Kitchen. If you just want some Thai food, this place will do. We were waiting in line to be seated. Hostess didn’t look like she knew what she was doing. She grabbed a random party who wasn’t next in line to be seated. Then went off to the back counter with three other parties waiting to put be seated or at least put their names down somewhere. We grabbed her attention and asked if we could be seated, seeing that there were three 4 person tables open. She didn’t think to seat whoever came in first and just grabbed a piece of paper and pen and put it on the counter for people to sign… seriously?

The food with exception of uncooked brown rice was good. Really tasty. The service was awful. So unfriendly, specially the ladies there. It was such an unhappy place. The atmosphere was negative. They were like robots who did not know any polite, kind words. One could say they were rude, but that wasn’t it. They were not rude. They just didn’t care that you are there to have a good time. I don’t think they realize their bad attitude effects other people’s mode.

I came here for lunch today and I had the tom kha kai soup which was delicious and I got it with the shrimp option. It was fresh and the broth was addicting. I will say however that the service wasn’t anything special as it took quite some time to have a waiter take our order despite the few people who were present at the time. Additionally, the overall environment was very simplistic and I really appreciate beautiful aesthetics when I select restaurants. However, since the soup was so delicious, I will come back again just to have that and perhaps try other dishes as they seemed rather authentic. Also, don’t forget that parking is a total bitch during lunch hour in this shopping plaza!

This place has pretty decent food. It’s standard compared to all Thai restaurants in near by vicinity. The reason why I don’t like this place is that they charge you $ 1.25 for rice. As a fellow Asian, it’s a shame. I ordered curry which is around $ 12 dollars and it does NOT come with rice! Are you kidding me? How are you supposed to eat curry without rice? That is NOTCOOL. You’re basically forced into buying rice because curry of all things should come with complimentary rice. The curry was good but I would not say that it is better than other restaurants. It’s just not worth for money. If you want Thai food but doesn’t really mind driving. I highly recommend Bangkok-Taste in Orange, CA. Hope this was helpful for those Thai curry lovers. Thank you.

Love Thai Café! I particularly like the Green Curry with chicken, Tom Yum Noodle Soup, and the Pad Thai. Don’t forget to order the Mango Sticky Rice for dessert! SOGOOD. Great food, great service. I only wish the Green Curry came with rice.

Long wait times for food and service, longer wait times for take out, and crappy attitude from the servers. This restaurant deserves less than 1 star

The staff are really impolite and they don’t know how to manage a restaurant, and we had to wait for 35 minutes till they bring the food to our table, not worth it…

Came here for dinner at 740pm and ordered iced Thai tea, crying tiger, and beef pad see iw. Crying tiger came out 15 mins later with no Thai iced tea. We had to remind our waiter that we ordered it. Fast forward 30 minutes and there is still no pad see iw. Asked the waiter and he definitely FORGOT about it and told us 5 more minutes. I was outraged. He left us unattended for 30 minutes and we had to ask where the pad see iw was. The place was not even crowded. They didn’t even say sorry or anything, we just got the check and left. WORSTEXPERIENCEEVER. I will never come here again. There are far better Thai food places than here. To top it off, people that came after us got their food before we did! We left and went to AJ restaurant. At least they get their food out in a timely manner and are attentive to their tables. Tip: don’t order with the male waiter, he’ll forget your order

They have a lunch menu and it comes with spicy vegetable soup that’s too spicy for me. I’ve ordered their pad thai, ladna and fried rice. All are yummy. :)

This is the closest Thai restaurant to where I live and I really wish it wasn’t! Although, most of food is decent(except the Pad Thai, bland IMP) they are a little over priced and the portions are extremely small. You don’t even get a side of rice when you order a main dish like yellow curry. I mean what type of Asian restaurant doesn’t serve rice with their meals? They do have brown rice though at an additional charge. When I do order from there it’s always a «to go» order and the servers always seem to have a chip on their shoulder. From the time you order on the phone to the time you pick it up, it seems as though someone ate their last cookie! I couldn’t even imagine eating there and having to deal with them. Overall, this is a place of convenience for me. Nothing special.

This would have been a 4-star rating but the waiting brought it down to a 3-star dining experience. Yes, that’s how ridiculous the wait was for the food! Rant: when we arrived, there was maybe a table or two that had just arrived. After we were seated 3 – 4 more parties arrived. I thought we beat the crowd and would get our orders out fast(as I’ve been warned by other Unilocalers)! Nope, we still waited 30 minutes for our food after we ordered! It was not just our table but also other tables surrounding us! Customers waiving servers down multiple times to check on their food! Maybe we’ll call ahead of time to place our«dine in» orders next time??? That’s a thought! Food: this has to be the best Thai food in town! Pretty authentic I must add. They serve boat noodle soup which many Thai restaurants don’t serve. The soup was very flavorful and spicy although it was«mild.» The pad see eew was deeeelish! Curry was good too! Price: pretty pricey for a Thai restaurant. Each dish was at least $ 9 each. If you want rice add another $ 2 per serving! I’d come back for maybe just take outs or if I had eaten a meal prior to coming here! Kekeke! Jk! Maybe not!

It’s about time I update my review for this place after 7 years! I tried this place back in ’09 and hated it. I tried it again last year and have visited pretty often since. This is the closest and yummiest Thai restaurant from my house. Here’s what I usually order: –Pad Thai: I love Thai Café’s pad thai. It’s really flavorful and not dry/boring like others I’ve tried. One time the chef made it too ketchup-y though. Most of the time it’s good. –Panang Curry & Green Curry: YUM. Both are so tasty and smooth. Only issue is it can get pretty spicy even if you ask them for mild. I wish it came with rice. –Tom Yum Soup: This might be an acquired taste, but I love it. Sooooo tasty. makes my mouth drool. The chicken in it is super tender too. –Spicy Chicken Fried Rice: Sounds boring and usually wouldn’t pick this off the menu, but my friend ordered it once and now we can’t stop ordering it. IT’S SOGOOD. and spicy. Trust me, it’s not normal fried rice. Service can really be a hit or miss. The staff gets stressed out when it’s «busy» so the food can sometimes take really long to come out. I put quotes around«busy» because Thai café pretty much never has a wait, compared to other restaurants in the neighboring plazas.

Yummy food but super slow :(But I’ll definitely come back. My uncle and I went HAM here for lunch and got the Green Curry, Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, and Thai Omelette. I don’t think I spelled some of these the same way they spelled it on the menu but I’ll do my best with descriptions: Green Curry Beef: Got this medium spicy and it was just spicy enough for that kick. But it was SO good because the sweetness from the coconut balanced it out :) I could definitely eat the whole thing if it wasn’t for the other dishes taking up stomach space. Pad See Ew Beef: This is that sweet rice noodle dish everyone loves. It’s the first one in the noodle section I believe. In my opinion, I’ve had better versions of this dish but I definitely didn’t mind eating an extra bite of this one. Pad Thai: Comes with shrimp, chicken, and tofu. Their pad thai is more watery than other’s but I liked it better! Very flavorful and not dry at all. Didn’t even need to mix in the peanuts and veggies! Thai Omelette: My uncle really liked this one and it had LOTS of egg and meat in it. It comes with a slightly spicy sauce. Despite being an appetizer, it came out last! I also got a standard Thai Iced Tea to help with the oily dishes and spice. Overall great meal, great service!

5 stars for being the best Thai food in Irvine. If I drive to Thai town in LA its better, if I go to ghetto ass Rowland Heights its cheaper, yeah thanks for your feedback morons. This is the most authentic Thai in Irvine by far. The waitresses are Thai! i went for my birthday lunch for the first time(Finally!) yesterday. We had the Papaya salad which is like gettng beans and rice at a Mexican restaurant. if the beans and rice suck its not real Mexican food. Their papaya salad was perfectly authentic, I loved it 4 ½ stars. Crying tiger was really excellent, I ate it with the papaya salad and stickey rice mmmmmm 4 stars. Beef panang curry was 4 stars, i would def get this again. Squid and shrimp with mixed basil was a 3 ½, good but not great. Overall its the next day and I could totally eat this exact meal again, actually I am craving it. this is a good sign.

My boss took us out to lunch during our ISO Audit and chose Thai Café. I contemplated a curry or a noodle dish since it was so hot out. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao with chicken(extra spicy) and a Thai iced tea. They brought out a complimentary soup starter. It was a vegetable soup with a sour, clear broth base. It was tasty and unexpected in the depth of flavors. My entrée came out relatively fast. My coworker’s beef salad came out last. The pad kee mao is made with flat rice noodles, chicken, chopped jalapenos, onions, Thai basil, bell peppers, fish sauce and soy sauce. First of all, it is legit spicy so kudos to them for keeping it real. I really enjoyed all the textures of my meal in between sipping Thai iced tea to cool down my taste buds. Prices are reasonable and the food is good. 3.5 stars rounded up.

My husband and I love a Thai food fix once in a while and since our favorite Sutha Thai Kitchen has changed ownership, we have been trying to find our next favorite Thai restaurant and so far Thai Café is right on top of our list. We tried to venture outside of our usual panang, pad Kee Mao and pad see ew realm and tried their spicy garlic lime steamed trout(whole fish) and their apple trout(fillet) on separate occasions. When they mean spicy garlic lime, they really meant spicy. The dish was so garlicky and spicy. The lime sauce offset the fish very well. It was quite an impressive dish. The apple trout was so refreshing and so fresh. Really gives the fried trout a new level of taste. My husband and I really enjoy the fish dishes. We’ll definitely come back here for more.

In the same plaza as the Taiko and A&J. This plaza gets super packed! I came around 5:30 and there was no parking, but there are a couple 20 minute parking spots near Thai Café. What I got: Pad Thai To Go($ 11): comes with chicken and shrimp. I was super disappointed in this dish. The take out box was heavy and packed, but the food didn’t taste good. It was bland, watery, and the noodles were a little hard. I had the leftovers for lunch the next day and it was super oily. Service: Came in and asked to look at the menu so I could order my food to go. They didn’t rush me or anything. They have seats on the side for you to wait. Food came out pretty quick too. Just wished that it tasted better!
