First off this place has amazing pizza! I drive from San Clemente just to have it. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good slice of Pie!

Let me start by saying that I have been to this location before and my experience was great. That was about two years ago. Wife and I decided to look at prices online before calling in order. Prices listed are minimal. For example, a medium cheese is $ 14.39. No mentioning of prices for topping(s). Called in to order a pizza for pickup. Medium pepperoni. Man who answered phone and took order wasn’t very friendly. Said pizza would be ready in 10 – 15 min. Did not mention price over the phone. Went to pickup. Was the only one there. Lady charges me $ 17.50. I thought that was steep given the online price so I asked her what the price was for a medium cheese. She said $ 15.50. I informed her that the price online was incorrect. She said they didn’t have a website. I felt like they didn’t care enough to to update their listing. Or at least take some ownership there. Got home, opened pizza box and it looked like a mess. Pizza was really greasy and the bread wasn’t even cooked all the way. I would not recommend this place. Bummer, as I always thought that Rubino’s pizza was always good. Not anymore.

This applies for delivery order: This place seems to consistently provide poor service both phone and food quality. Phone order: Person barely understands English and can’t explain a single item when asked. I placed an order and told there is a min order charge then right away hangs up the phone. This occurred a few times. Food: Pizza was bland crust and greasy. Just was not fresh. Never going to this place again. Not sure what the high rating is all about. Pizza Hut actually does better with their bad service as well.

46.50 for a extra large pizza and a salad. Not what I was quoted over the phone. Manager hasn’t updated the prices on the wall when I asked where the expensive pizzas were listed. Guy told me I was crazy when I said 50 dollars for a pizza and salad is too much money. Why would this guy call me crazy? How does he stay in business?

I’m generally a pizza lover, but a picky one as I’m sure most of us are lol. I’ve been to rubino’s a few times because the pizza here is pretty good. They have a few options for combos whether you want one slice or two maybe even a side salad. They also have pasta, cold sandwiches and hot sandwiches on the menu. I ordered a number two which comes with a slice of pizza, salad and a drink. The pizza here is so good! Not too much sauce and tons of delicious cheese. I opted for the Caesar salad which no one can ever go wrong with. Overall it cost maybe about $ 8 or so. The service here is also always good the husband and wife are very friendly and accommodating. I give five stars for the food and service.

Been here a few times and it’s been fairly consistent each time. Service is typically fast when you order by the slice. The cheese on this pizza, as others have mentioned, is different. It’s heavy, and thick, and almost chewy. If you don’t like this sort of texture, then you might say it’s bad. But you should also keep in mind that there is more than one kind of cheese, and sometimes, «different» doesn’t always mean«bad.» That being said, I like their cheese. You bite into it and it’s really a great texture. I like the crust too, though many have said it’s too thick. Well, some people like a bready crust. I’m a fan of thin crust, but I’m also a fan of bread with good pull, so though this crust isn’t typical, it’s not bad at all. Prices by the slice are cheap. Specialty whole pizza prices rival Lamppost, which is to say $$$$. I can’t say that this is great pizza, but I can say that I enjoy it despite my intolerance to lactose. Every time I eat dairy, I feel like total hell for two days, but that doesn’t stop me from ordering a slice or two from here every few weeks. As for the negative reviews on here amidst the higher rankings, I can see how the service can be rude. I’ve called a couple times and the daughter has answered. She’s very nice. When the father answers, it’s not very pleasant and he has no interest in talking to customers. The wife is very nice. She always smiles at me. Problem here is that getting to chat with the daughter who speaks English and understands kindness to customers is no guarantee that your order will be done properly since she has no control over the preparation/delivery. Oh well. You pay your money and you take a gamble with this place. General advice to be on the safe side: Don’t order delivery. Don’t bring kids. Don’t ask for the bathroom. Don’t come any later than 30 minutes before closing. Good luck.

+ Friendly owner/staff + Great pizza + Ample seating inside, with some outside + Low wait times -/+ Pizza prices are a bit higher than average/ My girlfriend is a big fan of this pizzeria and brought me here a few times. Generally any pizza is good pizza, right? I must say I’m definitely a fan of this one, plus the fact that it is local is great too. I have had take-out as well as dine-in and both experiences have been great. I’m not sure how their non-pizza entrees are, but I definitely plan to come back and try.

Staying in the area and not quite familiar with it, we headed to Unilocal to find our dinner spot for the night. Pizza caught our eye as did the 4 stars Rubino’s had, so we called in a large cheese + sausage for take-out. We’re told 15−20min. We arrived early and are the only one’s in the place. Our pizza was ready closer to 10min, hooray and they provided paper plates, how sweet. The pizza was SO good! You know a pizza’s going to be good when you pull a slice and the cheese stretches from the box to your plate and when you pull on it, it keeps going. We had to stop ourselves from devouring the entire thing(just two of us). We were full, content and very happy with every single bite. We’ll be back for sure!

«Aye RuuuBino!»…(In Italian Luigi accent). I came here one night and ordered two of their specialty choices in one medium pie. Rubino’s Special: pepperoni, ham, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, bacon-bits with homemade sauce, and mozzarella. This is their version of a supreme. It was okay and basic. Nothing out of the normal. I did like the ham it was neatly thin cut. The pepperoni and bacon-bits toppings added to the tastiness. The sauce tasted decent but not saucy and the veggie toppings were fresh. Seasoned Chicken Pizza: seasoned chicken, artichoke, tomatoes, homemade sauce and mozzarella. This was my least favorite choice. The chicken is seasoned but very little taste, the pieces were chunky though. Again, their home-made sauce tasted decent and not as saucy and the veggies on this one was generous. The artichoke pieces were big and the tomatoes were diced and piled like a taco salad. Overall, it was okay. Their pizza is not as doughy but is not greasy. They don’t hold back on toppings which is the upside here. The veggie toppings are fresh. What’s missing is the flavor, it comes close to plain. It didn’t have that richness due to the sauce and the taste factor combining the dough and toppings didn’t have that«pop!». Getting these specialty choices alone would range in medium size is between $ 16-$ 19. When I combined the two choices, the pizza went about $ 24. Now in my(Mario voice)…IT’z-AH-oOhh.Kay!
