Nekter Juice Bar

This review is for the three day classic cleanse. I have never done a cleanse before and I didn’t know what to expect. I went online researched and finally decided on Nekter. I am so happy with the results of this cleanse. I feel fantastic. You get 6 juices per day. And I thought there was no way they would keep me full. But I was pleasantly surprised they did! Don’t get me wrong I missed eating food but you get used to it. And everytime I’d feel hungry I would just chug a little more juice. The cashew milk at the end of the night is like a sweet dessert and it keeps you full through the night. I feel less bloated, more alert, and all around renewed. I am totally doing this again.

Nekter is always my go-​to when it comes to acai bowls, and it’s never a disappointment!

It’s also not organic. The folks who work at Nektar don’t have a RELATIONSHIP with food. It’s just their low-​paying job. If you go to a raw vegan place like Peace Pies in San Diego or Rawvolution in Santa Monica or any juice bar in Brazil or certain spots in Mexico— the people who work their little juice stands know the farmers who grow and pluck their veggies and fruit. The workers feel that food is a religion, it represents truth. It’s not their job. It’s their responsibility to feed someone with nutrients from the earth. Unlike Nektar, which exists for profit, these other places have emotion and meaning. Nektar is cute to look at, but it’s not authentic. It’s a business and it’s not doing a successful job at promoting the lifestyle it represents. I can get the same juice at Jamba Juice than I do at Nectar and you know what? I do.

Went there for the 1^st time today and ordered the Chocolate Dream. It was good at best. Not something I would come back for. The worst part was the customer service. I waited more than 15 minutes for a 16 oz. drink. There were only about 3 other people in the shop before me. And they had 6 – 7 employees working from what I saw. No excuse for that long of a wait. When I asked what the hold up was, they just said oh, sorry, we’re really backed up. My question was, with what?

Love love this place. Everything is delicious. The bowls are also great. this place is great for breakfast lunch or a quick pick me up.

The same thing that happened to Melissa C. happened to me two days ago. I came in with plenty of time before work to get a drink. But after waiting 20 minutes it still didn’t come out and no workers were available to ask for a refund. Other customers were frustrated and I ended up leaving without the drink or my money back. It basically took me two more days to get a hold of the manager so she can authorize a refund, but not only was she unapologetic, she didn’t care to ask me what had happened. She handed me my money and walked away. I feel like their mistake made me late for work and the manager didn’t bother to make an effort to compensate for that.

This was my first time coming here and I can say the service was great and I ordered the toxin flush drink which is A-​MAY-​ZING! I will definitely come back when I’m in the area.

I love this Nektar location because it’s easy to find, there’s plenty of parking in the plaza and everyone is really nice. There are a few seats available (more than the UCI location), so you can sit and hang out while you’re waiting for your drink. Depending on when you come, the lines can get long, and I’ve only gotten the juice (the Greenie!), which is always delicious and refreshing. It’s more of a treat for me if I feel I’ve eaten too much in the previous week. Keep up the good work, Orchard Hills! Download the Nektar app and sign up for the frequenters’ card! You get a credit and after 10, you get a free drink!

Service has been way improved since my last review! Very happy with the service!
My only complaint is that you still get only one star for multiple drinks! And that you can’t use your gift card to order drinks through the Nekter app!

My favorite juice to get here is the toxin flush. The ginger can be quite overwhelming and spicy, so I always order light ginger and it’s great-​tasting! It may be my own silly logic, but I figure that if it’s been a week where I ate too much junk food, I can have a juice and reverse some of the damage. Overall, healthy and yummy and very convenient.

This was my very first time ever hearing or even seeing nekter juice bar. My husband & I went in and got greeted very nicely the place is very clean and I love the smoothies. We had the –berry banana burst– and –orange crush– I recommend both are very good! I can’t wait to go back.

I’d say this is the nicest Nekter I have been to. I frequent this one and the Quail Hill quite often! I love the way the inside is designed — super fresh and clean. Also — parking is always amazing here! I’ve never had a problem with the customer service of the people who work here. They are always lovely to speak to and greet me with a smile. Depending on the day my bowl can vary on how it’s made. I always get the same thing! lol. It’s always delicious and refreshing and I love coming here :)
*** make sure that you have your Nekter app up if you don’t get service like me! I always have to use wifi :(but lately it’s worked out fine!

Shakes are great when they can get them right. About 1 out of 3 shakes they either don’t put enough dates in and they just taste bland or they leave the pits in and you can break a tooth!
I have to ask my wife to taste every shake she brings home first in case it’s a bad one. Today I got one with a ton of pits in it and couldn’t even drink it without spitting out rocks with every sip!

I originally thought the acai bowls didn’t measure up to other ones I’ve tried at different juice places but I’ve found my all time favorite!
Their pitaya bowl is absolutely amazing and sometime I like to add spinach + kale (upgrade it to a greenie) for an additional $ 1! It tastes amazing either way and the greenie gives you that fiber boost :)

I truly love going to Nekter. Everything I’ve had so far has been really tasty. I’ve even done the 3 day cleanse.
My favorites:
You must try the Toxin Flush. It’s sweet and if you have a hard time just drinking green stuff, then this is a great beginner juice. It does have ginger and at times is a little spicier than others, which is why I’m only giving 4 stars. I guess it’s tough to have true consistency when it completely depends on the veggies and fruits themselves, but it never quite tastes exactly the same. Still yummy though. Definitely get it over ice.
The Acai banana berry bowl is fabulous for a yummy and filling breakfast. I thought it was going to be creamy like yogurt from a parfait, but was surprised that it was more of a frozen smoothie on the bottom. The granola on top is to die for and all of the flavors blend nicely.
I also LOVE the pre-​bottled protein drink in the refrigerated section. It’s perfect for post-​workout and reminds me of Christmas in a way… maybe because of the cinnamon and all of the nuts. It has a little thicker consistency, so if you have texture issues, it might not be for you, but it’s delicious.
The chocolate dream is a guilt free treat. It’s sort of like a chocolate shake without all the crap. It’s not as sweet as a regular shake, but it does have a good flavor and texture. I love that the dates are not completely blended, so you get little pieces of date to chew on and have spurts of sweetness while drinking it. Definitely good for those time you want something sweet without the guilt.
Lastly, the CLEANSE. You can look up details on their site, but personally, I enjoyed it and ended up missing the juices when it was over. Some of the juices were better than others, but they weren’t too terrible. I’d say day 2 was a little challenging and I felt hungry at times, but by the end my skin was glowing. Seriously, I looked younger and had plenty of energy throughout the cleanse. I did a barre workout every day without any problems. No bathroom «issues», but I did have a bit of a headache every day. I ended up losing 3 pounds, which was great since I’m only 5’2″ and pretty fit. I would definitely do it again and would recommend it if you need a jumpstart to get back on track.

Quick, clean, and delicious. Tucked away in the Portola Hills shopping. Wasn’t too busy, and the staff was quick and efficient. My new go to juice spot.

I have been to other Nekters, this one is my favorite!
I ordered a pink flamingo and a greenie with ginger. I requested that the greenie be spicy with ginger, and IT WAS! Thanks Nekter, you know what «making it spicy» means!
Both drinks were done well and to our taste. As bonus, they gave me all my juice!
The 24oz greenie was completed with the accessory kids cup. I was a little surprised since I have asked for this same drink at other nekters and have not received all my juice, in retrospect, I feel a little robbed now.
The price is high, the wait is bit long, but in as long as I get a quiality juice at the end, I will be a happy customer.

Nekter of Portola, seriously???
I hate to give a one star review because I love Nekter and all their menu items, and this location is literally thirty second walking distance from my house.
I always get the cold pressed juices here which has always been good but its the first time I tried their acai bowls. Dissapointment is an understatement.
First of all, I ordered the banna berry acai bowl and asked for a tiny bit of peanut butter to be blended in Usually they put in one scoop (a little less than a tablespoon) as a full serving for their pb bowl and I asked for easy peanut butter, so half a serving. The guy at the register charged me an extra one dollar WITHOUT informing me first of the extra dollar (sneaky much???) And its not even writtwn on their menu that they will charge for extra peanut butter. And I only found out after the receipt.
And I only got HALF the regular serving which is literally a teaspoom of peanut butter. Charging ONE DOLLAR for a teaspoon of peanut butter??? I can get a whole jar at the dollar store for a dollar. I wpuldnt even be mad if they let me know first extra peanut butter was going to be an extra dollar.
Second of all, the bowl came out in a timley fashion, but there was one strawberry in there and it was small and mushy and brown and there was small BLACK DIRTLIKE SPECTS ON IT. so I went back in and asked for a different strawberry. Someone went back in and exchanged it for a strawberry that looked more normal, but still kind of not fresh looking.
ONE strawberry??? I feel jipped. I payed 8 dollara for a bowl and I get ONE strawberry on top, which is misleading because on the menu description it says «topped with freshh strawberrIES». Thats plural. I only see my ONE strawberrYEE. If thats the case change your menu description because its false advertisement or add in another small berry.
Third of all, I tasted the bowl and it was so watery and bland and I couldnt even taste the peanut butter. I get this bowl at other locations and it tastes nothing like this. This location only gave me half the granola the one at utc usually gives me.
Overall nekter is a great place but this location failed miaerably today with the bowl. I dont know if it was an inconsistency but I am dissapointed. Wont be coming back to this location for a bowl.
Ill take my 8 dollars and spend it on two acai bowls from jamba juice.

I’ve only been here a couple times but I’ve never been let down by the quality of my order. I had a really bad hangover one time and had a 24 oz. toxin flush. Worked wonders even though I’m not a fan of juiced ginger! The date nut is pretty good if you like nutmeg.
I’m a big fan of açaí bowls. There’s just something about those berries that get me every time. I like how they’re not too sweet and pretty healthy. It’s like eating a berry sorbet with fruit on top. The açaí tropical is pretty good for fans of shredded coconut and pineapples. The açaí banana berry is my next go-​to bowl that’s topped with granola, a banana, strawberries, and blueberries.
If you can filter out the sound of a juicer and blender, you can totally study here with their free wi-​if. It hasn’t been crowded the times I’ve been here. There’s also plenty of outlets along the wall for the laptop users.
The only thing that bugged me was that I was never offered a stamp card nor was I asked if I had one every time I’ve paid at the cash register. I had to find out after numerous purchases. Bummer! Now that I know about the rewards, it’s now on an app. So download the Nekter app my friends!

Not sure why, but the two times I’ve been here I’ve asked for ice but no ice was given. Guess they just don’t do ice here. Anyways, same juices, smoothies, and bowls offered as all the other Nektar locations in Orange County.
My favorites are the toxin flush & the glow. Maybe next time they’ll give me ice… To be continued.
