I usually go there to get a hair cut. I cant complain about their service, other than that the wait sometimes is longer than anticipated even with an appointment. The hair cut is always spot on and if you need something corrected you can come back the next day and they will fix it for you. I tried several other salons in Irvine and spent a lot of money on hair cuts done by «professionals». Those so called trained professionals never got it right and I always needed to go in and get it corrected. Mon Cheri is the only salon that got it right from the beginning.

I went to this place just because they were offering $ 25 short hair cut and I found this place super convenient as it is so close to me. I have had hair dressers who pay little attention to what you ask them to do but never had anyone who does not care what you want and does not know what to do either. This woman Naheed is so full of herself that you would think she knows better how to treat your hair only to find out after the cut that she is an amateur. I ended up paying another salon $ 66 to fix her mess. I even told her store manager about my experience but she seem to be totally ignoarnt and she offered me another $ 25 deal!!! I just decided to leave and never be back and I make sure all my friends know about their service as well.

I signed up for Unilocal so I could give this place a bad review. I went in based on a recommendation to get my eyebrows threaded, so I was expecting a professional threader. I have thick beautiful eyebrows and just needed them cleaned up. So the woman took me back and without even ASKING or saying anything, she thinned my eyebrow signficantly. Once I finally was given a mirror to look at it, I realized not only did she make them thin, they didn’t match, and the space between them was way too much. When I said to her«what did you do? Why did you make them so thin? Why are they so far apart??» She just said what do you mean I’ve been doing eyebrows for 10 years blah blah. And proceeded to tell me to lie down so she could fix it. I agreed at first, but once she started plucking I stopped her and said forget it. They need to grow back. I went home so angry. Her name is NAHEED. Never go here. NEVER. I’m traumatized with two misshapen and unmatching eyebrows.

I went in to get my eyebrows done. Left with one and a half eyebrows. She plucked all of my hair off! I think it was the owner but not entirely sure. So I spent $ 10 or so on having my eyebrows ruined. Don’t waste your time here

This place is ok if you have too much money to spend. I got my eyebrows, uplip and chin threadng done. That lady did the eyebrows well. But uplip and chin was my worst exp ever. She cut my skin in so many place on my chin. That too I had to go for a party that day and eveyone asked me wats happened to my chin. And that horrible lady charged me $ 30. Can u believe? And she said that was discount as I was a new customer. Pathetic! She even charged me for cutting my chin in so many places. Please think twice before wasting your money in this place. I wish I could complain some place to get my money back for this.

This place gets a really bad rep. But, I have never tried any of her services except for the threading service. Let me tell you, the woman that does the treading is nothing but amazing. She gets my brows right every time. With great precision and she is fast as well. She also does it in some way that its not as painful. In fact, I sent a friend there, and she was AMAZED. She said NOONE has every gotten her eyebrows right, but this woman was spot on. She first goes in with the tread, then does a nice detailed comb-thru with tweezers. I like how they have a separate room to do the treading– it feels more like a traditional salon, and I don’t feel like a piece of meat on display like I do at the threading parlous(think Ziba’s). All for $ 12 – 15 you can get upper lip and eyebrows threaded with great care, and privacy. The woman is also very friendly(never get yelled at by an unfriendly Indian woman again). I usually have a long lapse of time before I go in to get them done, and I never receive too much criticism from her(this is the opposite I have experienced in other places). The service I have gotten from this place really has me saying this is probably the best threading place I know. They are also very friendly. One time I came in at 7pm when they close, and they still saw me and did my eyebrows. Disclaimer: They are understaffed. I think only 2 people work here. If you intend on coming in, do make an appointment.

I can’t speak for any of the other hair salonist there but there’s a new guy, Adam, who works there now and he’s definitely the one you want to ask for! Maybe now that someone who knows what they’re doing is hired at this place, the rest of them can take a step back and learn something. :P

I had a haircut ver there, Not happy at all with the result and very expensice compare to what I got. I asked the lady specifically that I don’t want to have her, dry my hair, However she forced me to do that and at the end they charge me more than conventional price for hair cut and mentioned that drying the hair was part of the price… I am not going there anymore.

I was a little hesitant to come here after reading all the reviews. But, I’m a male and simply went to get a haircut with Bijan. He did a great job and I’ll be going back to him again. I can tell when someone knows how to cut hair, and Bijan knows how to cut hair! I can’t speak for the rest of the services and people who work at the salon, but I can definitely vouch for Bijan.

I have been coming to Mon Cheri Salon for years now and I love it! The staff has always been very friendly, the place is really nice and clean inside and they do a great job! The owner threads my eyebrows, and not only does she do a phenomenal job, but she charges the lowest prices too! I’ve been to manyyy different salons for my eyebrows, and when I say I want them to look a certain way, they try to convince me to do a different style. but at Mon Cheri, she does EXACTLY what I describe and it turns out better than I imagined! I love that place!

I was sad to see the not-so-good reviews, so I decided to add my 2 cents. I received a brow threading here because there was a special $ 9 rate! Being that my brows are thin, I didn’t think there was much one could do to shape them, but in the care of Nahid, I left with beautiful definition. Nahid was knowledgeable enough to educate me on the brow variations of different peoples. Additionally, she was a good listener, kind, and conscientious – taking extra care to do a great job. Mon Cher is my definitive place to go for superb eyebrow threading and a great deal.

Although redness, burns, and pain are known side effects of waxing, removal of the top layer of skin should not be. I have gotten my eyebrows waxed many times at various locations and I have never experienced so much pain before. The actual act of the lady pulling the strip was not that bad, it was the initial action of putting on the hot wax that really pissed me off. When I left the salon, my eyelids were red and I felt like someone had a string tied to it that kept my face in a shocked look. When I got home, I noticed a skin discoloration and immense pain. This continued for 3 days. I tried putting aloe vera and some anti-scar cream on it, and even went without make up for 3 days. I would never go back here again for a wax, even with the coupon they gave me after the session.

WORST.SALON.EVER. wow, i almost want to write a letter to Unilocal demanding a Zero Star option. I can’t even begin tell you how bad this place is. Seriously, where do I start?! Me: 20 something Indian girl with surprisingly un-bushy eyebrows. Salon Mon Cheri: Persian salon with Persian stylists(50 something moms who cut hair«for fun». Yep, no skill involved whatsoever). Scenario: I made an appointment to have my eyebrows threaded at 10am on a Friday. I walk in & am told that someone will be with me «shortly.» So I wait. And I wait. 20 minutes later, I tell the chick — what’s happening back there? I had an appointment. The receptionist(one of the«stylists» teenager daughters who was not in school for some odd reason) tells me that«the eyebrow specialist was just leaving her house» & not to worry because she lived nearby in Irvine. Okkaaay. Finally the lady shows up with her breakfast in hand and no where close to being ready to see me. She puts her stuff down and proceeds to go over paperwork. Just when I think it’s my turn to get my eyebrows done, a bushy-browed Persian teenage boy walks in, braces, crackly voice & all. He asks the lady for eyebrow threading and she responds«OK, come right in!» I was like WHAT?. So I get up and tell the woman that I had been waiting 30 minutes and had an appointment. You think she would apologize for the misunderstanding and proceed to take me to the back right? WRONG. She responded«Well, his eyebrows aren’t that bad — it’ll take me less than 5 minutes.» OMG I was like are you kidding me? He’s bushier than an animal and regardless of how long it’ll take I WASHEREFIRST. Whatever, she rolled her eyes and agreed to take me first. Needless to say she did a terrible job and I will never EVER go back. I think the chick’s name was Noni or Nanaz or something with an «N». She claimed to be a junior stylist(why would you lie about that?) but apparently she is the owner/manager. I guess I would lie too if I owned a crappy salon like that. DON’T GOHERE, ITREALLYSUCKS.

i was super excited to try this place out. i’d gotten this certificate thing 90% off four pre-paid visits. i was a little worried it was too good to be true. of course it was. the first visit was ok. my certificate promised: in depth skin analysis, spa facial(30 min) hydrating eye mask, facial massage, skin care prescription, make up consultation, and complimentary beverage. what i got: the lady looked at my skin for 2 seconds and told me i have combination skin(cuz you know i couldn’t have possibly figure out on my own that some parts of my face get oilier than others. i’ve only been in this skin my whole life…) she then washed my face. steamed it. and offered me a skin mask for $ 10 extra or to go right into the facial massage. i opted for the face mask. it was nothing special. and then after that i got 1 minute facial«massage» i. e, she rubbed the moisturizer in really well. and this was all done in a little back room with an old cd player that skipped playing. as though that could block out any of the chaos outside the door. visit B promises: hair design consultation, soothing scalp massage, conditioning treatment, design, cut, shampoo, & style, perm and color consultation, hair care prescription, complimentary beverage. what i got: she washed and conditioned my hair. sprayed in an ordinary spray conditioner. asked me how i wanted my hair cut. i told her i thought i wanted to go back to a layered bob. somehow i walked out with an A-line cut(it is adorable so i don’t mind that. but it’s not anything close to what i asked for). then when she was just about done cutting my hair she asked me if i wanted more layers. i couldn’t decide so she offered to blow dry it for $ 28 dollars and let me decide then after it was dry. i said no thanks($ 28 to finish drying my hair that was already mostly dry. dream on). next thing i know she’s blow drying my hair styling it(keep in mind styling it is part of the package. besides, i’ve gotten a-line cuts before. the stylists have always dried the hair and gone back over to make sure it all straight and even). and my hair color consultation«maybe later we can do a few blond highlights in front.» some consultation. so i go back to the front counter to schedule my next appointment and the girl tries to charge me $ 28 for the blow dry that i declined! i didn’t pay it of course but the fact that they tried to be sneaky and charge me really rubbed me the wrong way. i don’t care that i already paid for my last two visits. it’s not even worth it to go back. i can pluck my own eyebrows and wash my own hair.
