Dr. Long was my doctor when I moved to Newport Beach in 2000. She was the best! I recall how interested she was in my health and wellness. I moved away and came back in 2012 with an insurance company that wasn’t accepted by Dr. Long then. Well, Dr. Long will be accepting my insurance and plan beg. Jan. 1, 2015. I wanted to change my primary to Dr. Long, but the personnel in her office are so confused that they couldn’t give me an answer about scheduling an appointment with an assistant until Jan. 1, 2015. I informed her that by Jan. 1st, the open enrollment period has terminated and I am stuck with waiting for an appointment until(when)? She asks for my birth date and if I needed a physical because woman wellness physical appointments were available starting in May, 2015. Then I asked the length of time it would take to get an appointment with a doctor’s assistant for shots. Again, she asks for my birthdate, and after she got my birthdate she told me to call back Jan. 1, 2015. I asked again for the third time how long it would take to get an appointment with someone other than the doctor before I changed my primary. Again, she asks for my birthdate, and I was told to call back Jan 1, 2015. I said you can’t be that incompetent that you can’t give me more info before I change over. I think by her response they don’t want OLD patients because she hung up on me.

Dr. Long goes above and beyond. If you are lucky enough to be able to see her, you will never switch. She takes time to explain things. She listens to you and she cares. This is rare in the medical industry.

Ooops. Forgot to put this in the first time. All of the review is based on my opinion and personal experience; libel lawsuits BAD! Review for the office in Irvine 4870 Barranca Pkwy. The first reviewer is absolutely right, Dr. Long is awesome. BUT the office staff licks balls. I have had to return unecessarily to the office twice(so I get to waste $ 50 bucks, THANKS!). One time was because staff did not obtain approval for a covered drug before my visit– although I had double checked and they assured me it would be set up. The second extra visit was because the B**** nurse wouldn’t give me the same drug allegedly because it was not within the proper time frame. According to manufacturer guidelines it was perfectly fine to administer this drug at that time. I called and asked to speak with the doctor but GASP! once they heard my name they said the doctor has no voicemail so I couldn’t leave a message… oh wait! I can but it’s through the same incompetent people I had to deal with at the office. When I finally received an answer to my question(not the complaint re service) these same incompetents had gotten my message wrong! WTF! I would not go to this office location, but maybe the other one is fine.

I had a friend refer me to Dr. Long, she’s fabulous. She spends so much time with you, never makes you feel like your rushed… and really takes the time to make sure you«get it» when she’s explaining things to you. I HIGHLY recommend her.
