Del Taco

They do not wear gloves when preparing your food.
What else do you need to know? Been in on two separate occasions, same result.
So if you go through the drive through, just know, they touched their hair — which hasn’t been washed since they were home that morning, used the restroom at some point during the day, handled money (either theirs or a customer), touched their keys which are never cleaned…
Seriously. Super Gross.
As for the experience side of the review:
Lets step aside from the fact that you aren’t greeted if you walk in and you stand at the register while the 3 (visible) night employees are running around taking care of other things. Then you stand in the front like a gerbil eating your fingers thinking if you should ask if they should be wearing gloves while they are scooping out lettuce and cheese with their bare hands.
IF you do make a report to the general manager, she is flippant and short with you. On the second call the response was «well I told them to wear gloves, what do YOU want me to do?».
But I suppose if your reading reviews for fast food, we probably should have another conversation about your life choices?

Soooo slow. 2 cars in front of me in the drive-​thru and it still took over ten minutes for less than $ 4 worth of food. Its like they don’t start cooking until you pull up to the window to pay. Then they don’t have cash in the drawer, give me the wrong sauce, and forget the water. But the inside is clean, so they’ve got that going for them.

Del Taco’s salsa fresca chicken tacos are so superior to the shredded chicken tacos served at Taco Bell. Seriously, I don’t know why I bother going to Taco Bell any more other than the fact you practically trip over them wherever you go versus you have to look-​up where the nearest Del Taco is to you.
…and why do I love them so? Grilled chunks of flavorful chicken, fresh salsa and no cheese.

This is a great fast food place to be with a atmosphere of Mexican culture! The service is nice. The bathrooms are mostly clean. The food is fresh and delicious. And of course, very Mexican! The restaurant was clean! I’d love to come here again!

Horrible Del Taco ever! Tacos seem like they have one drop of meat, no flavor. Dirty.

Nice and clean fast food restaurant for Taco lovers. fries are little bit salty, try their chicken Tacos it’s my favorite.

Beware! They seriously don’t listen… I requested specific ingredients to be left out of the food I ordered because my boyfriend is allergic to them and they left them in there anyway. I even double checked with them at the window. All the food they gave to me was inedible because it contained the very ingredients I asked them to leave out. Please check your food thoroughly before leaving the vicinity. Our food ended up in the trash, thanks del taco.

I come to this del taco often for lunch while at work, the lady who works the drive thru is always short with me, never says more than two words, doesn’t upsell, is very monotoned in all her speech. She doesn’t offer me my receipt ever. Sometimes she doesn’t even tell me the total.
I don’t usually come at a busy time around 3 – 3:30, so I don’t understand… No rush, no reason to be rude. I went inside once for my receipt, once you walk inside her whole attitude changes.
The prices are cheap, the food is good, and they have never gotten my order wrong, but the costumer service sucks.

This del taco is super clean and big. The cashier was super friendly and the kitchen also looked very nice and clean. The only problem is she didn’t know how to bold the burger so she had to ask the other employees or the manager how to do it.
Their sauce counters were really clean… tables were clean too. Everything was good here.

Spent $ 20 for cold fries a horrible cheese burger they didn’t have any soda in the two soda machines. Not sure why they are even open. And $ 4 for a nasty chicken quesadilla that has more fat than chicken is not coo. They lady at the register was nice that’s about it. So I guess I spent $ 20 for a lady to talk nice to me and give me mediocre food.

My biggest concern with any restaurant is customer service. I would rather eat at a mediocre restaurant with great customer service than a 5 star with absolutely zero personality customer service and I’ve been there… I have been to this Del Taco several times and I am always greeted by the register operator named Erick. I would say by far Erick is the most courteous friendliest front person the customer comes in contact with first. Always has eye contact and he’s articulate in his speech. Erick in my opinion is better suited for a manager position… Another point about this Store is it has a salsa bar the only one I know of and the store is always clean when I have visited

I have to say, I can’t believe how much Del Taco has changed. I used to say I wouldn’t touch the place with a 10 foot pole. Now, I love the turkey tacos and the chicken salad. One day, I forgot my wallet on my lunch run. They gave me my food anyway!!! Couldn’t believe it! I came back later and paid. Great place, great people.

They really need cleaner restrooms. Toilet seats disgusting, no toilet seat covers, hand prints and grime everywhere! Nasty toilet scrub brush AND the toilet wouldn’t even flush. Grab a hose and disinfectants and get to work!!! Your employees use that bathroom and then make people food! Gross.

I guess it is just a matter of time. I’ve been coming to this Dell taco location since it opened. It replaced an old Arby’s. In the beginning, it was definitely run by corporate Dell taco. The management was quick efficient, and the food was hot, the dining room was clean, and during lunch extremely busy.
Recently everything is changed, The dining room is now filthy, the drink station looks like it hasn’t been wiped down in several hours, and after waiting for several minutes for «fast food» the manager just throws you the tray of food and turns his back. I asked for no tomatoes on my tacos, I got tomatoes, and the french fries are undercooked. There’s no catch up in the dispenser, as I sit down to a dirty table.
I guess it’s just a matter of time that this location turns out to be just like all of the rest of the Del tacos in the world. I was really hoping that this one would continue to be a flagship location. I still give it three stars with the hopes that management makes changes.

This used to be a dreary, sad Arby’s until it was transformed into a Del Taco a few years ago. My office is nearby (also on Technology Dr.), so I’ve been coming here probably 2 – 3 times a month since it opened.
LIKE:
* Food is always properly and freshly prepared, hot and tastes great.
* Plenty of seating, which helps during the weekday lunch rush when the place is almost always packed (a recommendation in itself).
* Freestyle Coke dispenser! Looks like they’ve updated the interface, AND the mixture of syrup and soda. Much better now. Before, the mix was a little light on flavor.
* Staff are always friendly and pleasant.
* Food shows up QUICK. I always walk in to the restaurant, so can’t vouch for drive-​thru. My food almost always is ready before I’ve finished getting my drink, napkins and sauce.
* Salsa and Sauces bar. Love the fresh salsas, both hot and mild.
DISLIKE:
* Sad that they discontinued the Macho Taco, but I like the new Chipotle Beef Taco for 75¢.
* It’s too cold! Feels like the thermostat is set to about 65°.
This is a great Del Taco. State of the art!

I work down the street from here and come here about once a week for lunch on the weekdays. The staff here is really amazing and the manager truly understands what customer service means.
I won’t write exactly what happened, but all I have to say is that this is the first time I walked into a fast food place and felt that the whole team genuinely cared about their customer.

For all you In N Out purists, I have 2 words for you… Double Del! If you are a fan of the double double, you must try this! Right now. Go… Right now.

I just had to write a review because yesterday, went here with a friend who ordered food and had the nicest woman take the order, named Alicia. Wow! If only ever fast food establishment had an Alicia. She smiled warmly, knew everything on the menu and what was in it, what to recommend. She was so great!
Cannot stand it when restaurants look at you like you have 3 heads if you ask a question about menu.
Then the GM came over. His name was Cele. He was terrific. The place was spotless. The best Del Taco and the greatest staff. Highly recommend this location. Cele and Alicia are to be commended!

I gave it a few days. This happened earlier this week on Thursday afternoon ⁸⁄₂₁. So why a 1-​star? I’ll keep it short:
1. Took almost 20 minutes to get through a drive though.
2. Sandwiched between cars, I could not escape. It was HOT too.
3. When I finally got to the window, the attendant immediately snapped, «CASH OR CARD?!» No «hey sorry about the wait», or «we’re having some technical difficulties.»
4. Only after asking WHY did he explain that their terminal had gone down. He refused to give me a total, but demanded cash or card first so he could take it to the other working register. I blindly handed him a $ 20 with only a rough estimate of how much it should cost in my head.
5. A female attendant had my order, but refused to give it to me until the male attendant came back with my change. Made me feel like she refused to hand over the product assuming people would drive off without paying.
6. Not a single apology was uttered, even though I mentioned that it had taken a long time, and multiple cars had turned off their engines.
I don’t expect great service at a fast food place. I don’t even expect anyone to go out of their way for me. I do, however, expect to be treated courteously and respectfully at any establishment.
I will not be returning.

Is it just me or has Del Taco been trying to step up their game…
A lot of Del Tacos I’ve been to look newly remodeled and this location is no exception. It’s very spacious, clean, and filled with bright colors. I like the atmosphere; it definitely doesn’t feel like some dingy fast food restaurant where you’re scared everything you touch might carry some disease. The soda machines and bar with all of the condiments are always clean and organized. Lots of seating available as there are booths on the sides and lots of tables with seats in the middle.
My favorite items to order are the chicken soft tacos or the crunchtada. My boyfriend prefers the hard shell tacos or the bacon double del burger. Surprisingly, that burger is one of the BEST (from a fast food joint). It’s our favorite buzzed munchie heheh. I love that they have baskets of a variety of hot sauce packets at every booth in case you forget to get your own.
Free wifi. Nice workers. Clean bathrooms. Orders are always out quick and done right. Too bad the food is so unhealthy!!!

Best Del Taco in Irvine hands down.
