Any time we are in Columbia we always come here. Good southern cooking at a good price with top notch service make Lizards Thicket the place to go. I fist ate here over 30 years ago and after all that time they are still going strong. I wish they would open in Charleston so I could go more often.

Good place if you are looking for some good souther style food. They have different specials for each day of the week. Service was good and very nice people.

My mom lives in Irmo and this Yankee right here always sees fit to stop at lizard’s thicket to fill her belly up with southern goodness. Everything is good, but I’m partial to the country fried steak with collards, cornbread dressing, and yams. Because that’s how I roll. I am still a Yankee though so I do request half sweet tea half unsweetened tea.

Just moved to South Carolina. Stumbled across this restaurant on one of our drives. Decided to have dinner here. I have to say food was very good. And good prices. I ordered chicken fried steak with cream gravy. Mashed potatoes. And cream corn. Which was soooo good. My husband ordered pulled pork. Collard greens. Mac and cheese. Our twins ordered chicken fried steak. Mashed potatoes and fried squash. EVERYTHING was so good. The fried squash was a little cold. But nothing to really complain about. The atmosphere was very inviting and nice. Our waitress was very polite. Very helpful. Great service. The sweet tea! Wow! Was very good as well. I totally recommend stopping by and giving them a try.

Best home style cooking. Great breakfast, lunch, and supper. Country ham & cheese omelette, grits, and biscuit followed by chicken-fried steak with mashed potatoes & white gravy, green beans and fried okra followed by a bucket of fried chicken to take home for supper is a complete day of home-cookin’ without the dishes to wash.

I don’t think I’ve ever gotten my to go order correct here. Ever. I complained once and they comped a meal for me but when I came back to get it they got that one wrong too. I’m really not sure what this issue is at this location.

We saw the sign from the road and we were interested amd the first place we went lost power. So happy we came! great food, amazing service and comfortable atmosphere. I got the quintessential meat and veg plate with fried chicken, black eyed peas and collards. hot and tasty and totally affordable. Got the blackberry cobbler for dessert and couldn’t be happier. Octavia was our server and she was just the best! Sweet and funny and always smiling. We will always stop here when passing through.

Food is usually good and service is decent but this time we sat in the drive thru for 20 minutes to get one order wrong and my child was missing one of his sides. Not a happy parent. Could definitely use improvement in the drive thur.

Just good home cooking with plenty to choose from. Food quality has improved since my last visit here a year ago.

Fantastic local staple in the Irmo area. This place has the best breakfast in South Carolina! Breakfast is served until 10:30AM on weekdays and until 12:00 Noon on weekends. It gets *very* crowded on Sundays after church, and on some mornings. Menu consists mostly of comfort foods. The service is always great. They do have a drive-thru, but would still recommend calling in your order ahead of time so that it is ready when get to the window.

Food is usually decent. On this visit, we didn’t get the chance to try any of it. By the time that we got up to leave, we had been waiting for about an hour for the food that we ordered to come to the table. Save yourself some time. If you want this type of food, just go to Cracker Barrel.

Stopped cause of the Unilocal reviews. Gotta say this food is bland. Even hot sauce and pepper didn’t make this better. We sampled it all between 4 of us. Veggies ok. Baked chicken ok. Fried chicken — one bite and even the kids didn’t finish it. Cornbread was probably the best thing. Good prices. Good service. This is the type of food I expect to eat at the nursing home.

Good breakfast. Selection and menu. Good service. Not the best pancakes in the world came in hard and could use for frisbees. Sausage, Grits and eggs pretty good!

Have lived in the area for several years and have visited 2 – 3 times. This particular visit was on New Years Day and we were impressed. Food is definitely home cookin’ at its finest. It even made Cracker Barrel’s food seem like fast food. I think of all the Lizard’s Thickets restaurants in the area, this is definitey one of the better ones. Clean with friendly service.

Great breakfast spot and great fried chicken too! If you’re headed home, drive thru and get the 2-pc fried chicken meal which comes with 2 sides and your choice of cornbread or a dinner roll!

Just what you would expect from Lizard’s Thicket. Southern Style cooking, tasty but not fantastic. I enjoy the meat and two combo with some sweet tea.

Lizard’s Thicket on Saint Andrews is so good. The only complaint is that the waitress wasn’t that great, we had to ask for more napkins. But the food was amazing. I had a fried pork chop, collard greens, mashed potatoes and fried okra and sweet ice tea. My friend Amber, had roast chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, cornbread stuffing and gravy, mac and cheese and sweet tea, and a fried pork chop on the side. The southern food is soooo good, its much better then Cracker Barrel. To me its real home style southern food.
