My girlfriend and I stayed in the vineyard room. Dave and Melanie were fantastic hosts! They were always around to see if we needed anything. Breakfast was served to our door every morning and was always hot and hearty. We felt that this is what the bed and breakfast experience is al about. The vineyard package we chose also sweetened the deal which included a wine tasting and a gift card for a restaurant of our choice(off of a large list). The house is on a small lake called lake dubonnet. It is deceptively large. They provided us a row boat and it was very enjoyable to row around the lake. The lake barely had any houses on it so the wildlife is very active. At night there is little In the way of light pollution and many stars can be seen from the dock. We will most defiantly be back!

We had a concert to attend at the Interlochen Center for the Arts and didn’t want to take the long drive home afterwards, so we decided to stay at Lake ‘N Pines for the night. Talk about convienence! The Center was right down the road and took about 10 – 15 minutes to get to. The B&B was nice. We stayed in the Anglers room. It was clean and well maintained. The grounds around the Lodge were nice but had potential to be a lot nicer. Some weeds in some of the flower beds, and the fake flowers on the trees and in some of the beds which I found to be quite hokey. We both ordered the omelet for breakfast along with toast, potatoes, juice and coffee. It was just ok, nothing to write home about. We weren’t there very long, but David was the one we met with. He checked us in and cooked and brought us breakfast in the morning. He was very friendly, but seemed a bit overworked doing everything that needed to be done(that may explain the fake flowers!) All in all, it was a nice place to stay, clean and very convenient for our needs, but I think I may try another B&B if we return to the area.

I stayed here one night with my parents who were visiting me from abroad. They absolutely loved staying here. We enjoyed kayaking and canoeing in the afternoon(there were no people who were using them at the same time), used grills for BBQ, sunset was beautiful, and breakfast was amazing. Best thing is that all of these are FREE and considering that, the nightly rate is very very reasonable. It takes about 40 min to sleeping bear dunes, and 15 min to Traverse city.

Lake N’ Pines Lodge was the choice after hours spent looking at spots to stay near Traverse City. My girlfriend has a great track record picking good places, and she did not disappoint this time. We were welcomed to LNP by the couple who own the small lodge. We stayed on the second floor of the guest house, with a deck looking out onto the water. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a calming, woodsy décor, and a lot of thought put into the details. The owners had left us a couple sodas in the fridge, and lots of nice soaps and stuff in the bathroom. They invited us to canoe on the lake, but I really wanted a nap after the drive in from Chicago, and my girlfriend found the hundreds of channels on TV. We filled out a menu card, and breakfast was brought up to our room in the morning. It was a really treat, and for guests like us who would rather eat a private breakfast, the best accommodation a B&B could make. The location was super close to Traverse City and the National Park, but also set off plenty, on back roads. Interlochen reminded me of the north woods of Wisconsin, and is home to a major NPR station. The stay at Lake N’ Pines Lodge really put me at ease.
