The Towing Company

Wow, what a find this was. Specifically, Victor.
I was referred to The Towing Company by a mechanic, after having called about 10 mechanics explaining an issue with my car not being able to start, nor be able to even be jumped. They all said, bring the car in, and they’ll see what they can do. Most thought it was a wiring issue.
I called about 5 tow companies for quotes. Average was 100 bucks, and Victor immediately quoted me 75 bucks– I was sold.
He shows up an hour later (as planned), I explain the issue just as I had to all those mechanics, and Victor smiles. He tells me to pop the hood, and in less than five minutes he resolved my issue! Turns out I had hidden corrosion on my battery. He said «get me some coke, and we’ll get this up and running right away»
We started the car about ten times– worked perfectly each time. A few months before I had the same problem and took it to a mechanic, who charged me 400 bucks to replace the ignition. I told Victor the story and he’s like, «Those mechanics, they think they know everything; they think we tow guys know nothing.» I laughed and told him he’s the best.
He said, «Yeah, but I still have to give you a bill.»
I laughed again– obviously I’m happy to pay the bill.
He quoted me 75 originally to tow my car, but then told me since he didn’t tow it, ‘how about 50?‘
I happily gave him 70.
Really a great experience– I was lucky to have Victor go the extra yard to help me out. He could have towed my car, taken the 75 bucks, and never seen me again– but he chose to put forth an effort, and even asked for less money than originally quoted. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs a tow. I’m not saying he will be able to solve your car issue like he did mine (as obviously each situation is unique, and yours might be quite different than mine was), but nice guys like Victor deserve our business. Hopefully this Unilocal review will help get him that.

So, I don’t know what is a good price for a tow or what is a total rip!
I called a mechanic that referred me to the towing company because I did not have AAA.
Ask for Victor, he is one of the most nicest person you will ever meet.
I got a tow from UCLA to my local mechanic shop in Palms for 65 dollars.
His tow truck didn’t fit into one of the lots so he pushed my car out of the lot and onto his tow truck. He didn’t complain, he just said joking.“I’m so out of shape.“
Is 65 a rip? I don’t know but I do know I wasn’t going to push my car anywhere.
