Gumbo on point but if you wanna get full you better not spend under $ 20. Best gumbo in LA hands down!

I can’t say enough good things about this family owned restaurant. The Gumbo is simply delicious. Scottle is a Master Chef in the Kitchen and his food has awesome flavors. Don’t let the sign fool you cause his BBQ Ribs are so moist and tender the meat slides right off the bone.

I’ve been looking for gumbo in LA for 10 years. Being from New Orleans. Outstanding gumbo. Fantastic wings. I’m so happy it’s around the corner.

I didn’t actually eat there my one star is for service. I walked in at exactly 8:01pm there where people eating and waiting for there take out orders. The chef looked at me and said we are closed. They close at 8pm. It was a rather cold slightly rainy day in Inglewood. Was really disappointed. I took the time to come in on a cold rainy day but he decided 1 minute was too late for me to have gumbo. The people that were eating, two had gumbo that had a red base one had something that looked almost black with shellfish. Both had lots of rice and garlic bread. One star for bad service 8:01 really? Sad face. Not sure if I will give then another try. I may stick to Dulans and Orleans and York.

What a disappointment! I was driving home from work and just didnt feel like cooking last week and i had been wanting to give this place a try since is right by my house, well big mistake. This place is known for the gumbo but i decided to get something else, maybe the gumbo is much better? idk… It was very clean when i walked in and everyone spoke and gave a nice welcome. I glanced over the menu and went with the turkey meatloaf dinner. It came with 2 sides and garlic bread or cornbread. The cashier didnt offer me an option of which one i wanted, it didnt really matter to me but asking my preference vs. just assuming would have been nice. Well they put garlic bread in the bag so i rolled with it… It took about 10 minutes to get my dinner. The portion was cool for $ 13 but it just didnt taste good at all. Now, Im a loyal Dulans fan and if you live in Inglewood you know about Dulans and how delicious it is, but hey i wanted to give someone else a try and it just wasnt what i expected. The meatloaf had no flavor at all. It was bland and taste like it had no seasoning at all. I sprinkled some garlic powder and a little hot sauce to try and make it better. The mac and cheese was terrible, no cheesy flavor, just taste like it had been cooked in a little milk and a tiny bit of cheese and the garlic bread was too soft and soggy, i like a little crisp to it. The yams were good though, had a nice sweet flavor to them like yams should have. Overall i didnt really enjoy it. I expected it to be better than what it was. I dont think I will return to try anything else.

This is currently the best Gumbo spot in town people!!! And I know this because I have been to them all! The prices are descent and the flavor is perfect. I’m giving the old man a 5-star review. I’ve been here a hand full of times and the joint never disappoints. Would recommend this place to any/everyone and I am the ultimate foodie! Best hidden lil secret in Inglewood!

I went here by recommendation… I should have known it would be a bust ! I ordered the combo gumbo in medium to go. Lets just say what was the supposedly roux was the color of motor oil and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO flavor, too much rice. So this is what it consisted of rice, oil, 3 thin slices of sausages(cheap ones), 3 shrimp, 1 chicken wing that was tough, and last the ¼ of crab leg. No flavor no veggies not even warm … It oil flavorless mush. Then it was 18.00. TRASH… do not waste your time…
