Foothill Transit Line 285

So this is basically a continuation of my review of Foothill Transit Line 285. I had to get off that bus at the corner of Colima Road and Hacienda Boulevard and wait for the 185. Finding the bus stop was no problem, but waiting and waiting and waiting in the hot sun was pretty annoying.
The bus finally came, and I was happy to be only a mile or so from my doctor’s office. I got off the bus at the corner of Colima Road and South Azusa Avenue and walked up the hill to the medical building where my doctor’s office was. By the time I got there, I was all sweaty from having walked this annoying quarter– to half-​mile of a fairly steep hill.
I realize that the distance from my doctor’s office isn’t really the 185 Line’s fault, but I do think Foothill Transit’s lines could be routed differently to provide more direct service to specific destinations. The medical building I was going to is one example. If the 185 simply went up the hill a little bit farther before turning around or making a loop back down to the Puente Hills Mall, it could still get more people where they wanted to go.
The experience I had with this bus line discouraged me from using the bus to get to a particular location, and if it discouraged me, a person who is willing to go to a lot of trouble to take public transportation, it definitely discourages the average person even more.
