I can only comment on the plate I ordered, the huevos rancheros. The eggs were fried hard, the salsa was bland and the tortilla soaked in oil. The refried beans were runny and the rice was probably reheated from yesterday’s batch. The place is very nice and cool especially on this hot summer day but I go to a place for the food and this won’t be a repeat.

This place is cuter in the inside than it looks on the strip mall outside. I was liking that. I ordered a Modelo(beer) in the bottle, and it was very cold. To top it off, they gave me a chilled mug. They were hooking me! Then the food came. Total letdown. My girl had juevos rancheros, and the yolks were cooked hard and dry. Who does that? My number one judgement of a place, the beans, were watery and runny. This is bad. I had an enchilada that had something like mole sauce over it, but it had cinnamon in it. Didn’t care for that. I had a gringo taco that was fine. Hard shell, ground beef, cheese, and it was the best thing I had apart from the beer.

Excellent street tacos and very affordable! Hubby and I stopped in before catching a movie down the street at the AMC. We ordered guacamole to start which was very fresh. Hubby ordered the carne asada/steak tacos which he rated 4 out of 5. I ordered carnitas and al pastor tacos. Yummy but the el pastor was the best and definitely spicy. The salsas brought out with the tacos were spicy and great — versions of tomatillo and chipotle salsas. Agree with prior reviews the salsa served with chips is mild but also admit this is not the Westside where spicier salsa for chips is a must. Only other downer was lack of margaritas on the rocks

Don’t let the strip mall restaurant feel fool you. This place can hold its own with all the big name Mexican joints in town. Homemade chips and salsa are about as authentic as you can get. Burritos are huge and full of flavor. I came back a second time and got the fajitas. Huge serving for the price. Only gripe is that the service is a little lacking, but the food definitely makes up for it. You will not be disappointed.

We decided to give this place a try, due to its close proximity. La Parada is our go-to, but we thought maybe we would branch out. We went on a Friday night with our son. We waited a full fifteen minutes before the waitress took our drink order. We decided to go ahead and place our food order at the same time, in hopes of speeding things along. The food took forever to arrive, all the while our toddler was getting restless and hungry. When it finally did, everything was wrong. As in, enchiladas in place of tacos and the total absence of our child’s food(who needed it first!) Simultaneously, they grossly messed up the group sitting across from us. My eyes panned the room and many people were rolling eyes and shaking heads. We were never asked if we wanted more salsa, refills, and I was never offered a water. I took my check to the counter, where no one stood, and waited… and waited. It was a loooong, aggravating experience. Never again.

Talk about hidden away… a little strip mall on the north side of East Washington street holds a fiesta waiting for you to stop in! Tacos A la Diabla offers a nice atmosphere, super friendly service and a wonderful array of Mexican delights waiting for you to try. They have several beers on tap including Pacifico. The table chips and salsa are AMAZING, fresh home made chips and a nice smoky, chunky salsa. Everything that passed by me looked good, but I went for the tacos a la dibbla. One each of chicken, steak and Al Pastor. I am always disappointed with steak tacos… dry and flavorless… NOTHERE! Juicy and flavorful! The chicken and pork tacos were equally AMAZING! The best part is they offer, without looking at you as a gringo… flour or corn tortillas. I love flour tortillas and they were warm and soft and heavenly!

Was in a strip mall type building and didn’t know what to expect. Looked family owned with the daughters that served and the parents cooked or something. But the service was great and the food was great. Will definitely keep it as one of our favorite Mexican food spots.

I was hungry for tacos and Tacos A La Diabla fit the bill. Fair prices, prompt service, and hot food. This restaurant did not set the bar higher than any other local mexican place, but met those expectations exactly where I had planted them. I feel like everyone has that one local Mexican place they went to growing up; this could be that. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to get there, but if in the vicinity might drop by if a particularly strong salsa craving arises(they did have an excellent cilantro to tomato ratio).

This is a great restaurant tucked away in a little strip mall on Washington St. To call it unassuming from the outside would be an understatement, however as soon as you walk in your spirits will start to rise. The restaurant has a welcoming vibe and the staff is very friendly. In my continuing quest to try as many tacos as one can in Indianapolis Tacos A La Diabla stands out. They have a great variety of toppings and they do the classic onions and cilantro tacos to perfection. I would wholeheartedly recommend the barbacoa, while the al pastor was delicious as well. Excited to try one of their tortas on my next visit as those looked amazing.

Best tacos in INDY. The sign out front just says«TACOS» so that is to be expected. The place is always clean and the staff are very friendly. The tacos«A La Diabla» on corn tortillas are the best! This place is a low-key Eastside gem!

Nice local Mexican restaurant. Service has always been good. I always order a la carte tacos. A nice selection of 3(yum lengua!) will only set you back about $ 8.

Had the Chicken Tacos La Diabla style, they had some heat to them, but boy they were good. Chips and Salsa were as good as I have had in the Indianapolis market.

A strip mall restaurant that is above average. This place has been empty the times I’ve been there but it seems to have a steady stream of business. It may be packed other times or on the weekend but if you visit mid-week you’ll probably have the place to yourself. Right off the 465 and East Washington exit, it’s next to the Dollar General, Radio Shack, nail place etc. Service has always been pleasant and quick, the kitchen has likewise been fast at getting food to the table. alas if you’re the only customer one would hope for that. The carne asada entrée and the steak tacos are very good, nothing over done or under flavored. They offer shakes, which, if they have your flavor, are also very good.(They were out of banana when I was there). Stop by, this place is clean and well kept in a convenient spot.,

I have to say coming from California I have been fairly disappointed(not surprised) with the Mexican food here. This place is the best I could find so far if your looking for real Mexican food and not these other restaurants that seem to love over salting their meals, might as well eat a salt taco.

I am not really sure why this place had such poor reviews. I was traveling through town and stopped here because the reviews did mention that the stuff was homemade. I ordered a tamale, a carnitas Diablo taco, and a chicken regular taco. The service was great the food came out quickly. I found the Diablo taco only mildly spicy, but flavorful enough to make it an excellent choice. The tamale was truly homemade and very tasty. The regular chicken taco was a little bland but I think they do that because they feel people in this neighborhood might be scared off by something called Diablo. Feel free to eat here and not worry about the bad reviews; order the Diablo only and you will be fine

I Cannot believe this place wasn’t on Unilocal yet, so I just added it. This isn’t your typical Mexican restaurant. It reminds me of a café that specializes in tacos. I ordered the Steak tacos a la diabla… wow! Amazing tacos! Some of the best I’ve ever had! I you like heat, make sure to layer on the green and red sauce they bring to your table. My Girlfriend ordered the chicken fajitas and she really like it! And when she likes something I make sure to favorite that restaurant because she can be picky ;)

Like most Unilocal reviewers, I appreciate a great«bang to buck» ratio. This place has just that. The tacos are top notch street tacos with many varieties of meats. You pay extra for cheese, but the onions, cilantro, and salsa are all you need. I had a torta last time and it was delicious(and wildly filing). Horchata is available, so i was in love. The salsas are spicy, but not very complex. They complement the chips just fine for the price, though. As a downside, the tamales had way too much masa in my opinion, and as it’s strip mall Mexican, you won’t get much in terms of atmosphere. I do wish they had soccer playing, but that’s just me. All in all, my wife and I could each get tacos, drinks, and an appetizer for around $ 20. A very solid value in a place that needs some cheap eats that are actually tasty!

Food was averaged at best. My wife and I split nachos and then I ordered a quesadilla and she had two tacos, one barbacoa and the other carnitas. Salsa was too runny and overly spicy without much other flavor. Carnitas taco was pretty good. The barbacoa was not good and tasted like beef rolled in tomato paste. I couldn’t even stomach the quesadilla, it was runny and not at all appetizing. Although, the service was very quick and efficient, There are much better options on the East side.

No thanks. I tried the food at the truck. I tried the food at the restaurant. It is just not very good. I have a feeling that the problem is that they don’t season the meat well with salt and pepper. I don’t even know what to say… there is just no flavor. For example no salt stuck to the chips. The salsa was pretty good, but I had to mix in salt to compensate for the lack of salt on the chips. I was so disappointed in the food I didn’t bother to order dessert which is highly unusual for me. On a positive note, the food seemed to be made in-house. The place seemed clean. The service was friendly. PROS: good service, clean restaurant, fresh-prepared food CONS: horrible location, horrible ambiance, food lacked flavor

Best tacos in town hands down. Tacos a la diabla is Mexican in it’s purest form. The first page of the menu consist of tacos mix and match and tacos diabla which is a very spicy seasoning they use. I prefer the regular tacos but most of my friends get the diabla. I would recommend getting two regular tacos and one diabla. The first time I tried the diabla I had sat down and ate the chips and salsa thinking man this salsa is fire– the perfect temperature. By the time the tacos came I found myself eating the salsa to cool off y mouth-the salsa was like water compared to the tacos. These are the best tacos in town. Hands down. $ 6 gets you 3 tacos loaded with meat. Just a bit more insight into the tacos– a good friend of mine grew up 10 miles form the Mexican border and ate homemade Mexican tacos most every day of his life, he said these tacos are as good if not better then the tacos from Mexico. You must try these tacos!!!
