Only ok. My favorite one is on East 96th! I did find these bad add boots! $ 35…all leather,.Euro style. Said size 6, but they fit like a 8 ½. Love them!!! Toggery is better! Their stuff is a little pricey! I’ll go to Toggery tomorrow!

This place is a joke! Go to the Toggery in Broadripple! they carry way better stuff and they don’t lie about promotions and coupons. Simply chic sent me an email with a coupon and didn’t let me use it but stated that I would have to have a physical coupon… who still does that???

I was happy when I found this store this year and have proceeded to sell all kinds of clothing items. The store can be a hassle to get to, being off of west 86th street, in heavy traffic times. However, once you’re in the parking lot, I’ve never had an issue finding parking close to the entrance so I am not lugging a bunch of heavy bags or a laundry hamper across the parking lot. The staff greets you when you walk in and are quick to direct you if you are selling clothes, I’ve never had an issue with not knowing what to do with all of my belongings. It really depends on how busy they are if they will quickly decide on the items they want or if it will take a while because if you go in on a weekday evening you can be out of there in 20 minutes. On the weekends they are much busier throughout the entire day but they always have extra staff working. You get decent money in return, in my experience, everything I have taken in to sell I’ve worn for a while and took care of it so I am happy to get a few bucks out of it rather nothing. As far as the quality of clothing for the prices goes, Simply Chic is over priced on some items. Some handbags, jeans, sweaters, scarves and jewelry that are obviously worn or damaged can be as much as if you were to buy them at a sale price brand new in the original store. So the store’s selection is hit or miss and I would say be aware when you’re choosing clothes, check for wear and it wouldn’t be a bad idea to price them with the brand new version. Some shoes are decently priced for second-hand here, but again, often times I’ve noticed the prices aren’t much of a discount compared to buying them at retail price. I will say they do carry higher quality brands than most chain consignment shops I’ve visited in Indianapolis.

So I walked in the store around 1 pm. It was pretty busy. I walked up to the counter and politely asked if they had time to go through my clothes. I got checked in and then lady proceeded to tell me that if I wait in store they can see me within at least a half hour plus the time it would take to go through my clothes. She then continued to say that if I left the clothes she would take walk-ins that wanted to wait first. Fast forward to 3:45pm… Nothing, hadn’t touched my clothes. She said so you are going to wait, I said you haven’t been through them yet. She said no. So I wait… more than enough time to write this review. Understand they have been busy, but I too have a job and can’t sit around and wait for 3 to 4 employees dig through my clothes. They should maybe decline sellers or take appointments or make the communication clear on the time. So while I was waiting I decided to walk around the store. It’s a nice size, but not impressed with the quality of the clothes so far. And the shoes, wow, they are worn and look like they have been sitting in the store for years. And unfortunately it smelled like mildew and wet clothes. Maybe they should light a candle. I am patiently waiting to hear what I get or if they offer anything for my clothes(which are all on plastic hangers, cleaned and in large containers) I have brought in 10 – 12 nice name brand dresses and a couple even had original tags(BCBG, Calvin Klein, etc). I have also brought in 10 or so jeans(Seven, Express, William Rast, True Religion, and Tommy H) It’s now been 45 min and I’m sitting on a couch with 2 other ladies still waiting… now 55 min

I don’t know if they have just gotten super busy, but the store is so packed it’s darn near unbearable to shop in. I finally made it in to sell some slithers to them, brands like Missme, Mek, 7 for all mankind, silver, vanity and more and they were offering me 3 dollars for something I purchased there for 30 like a wristlet only used a few times and the jeans I purchased there. They have great buys, however I would rather give away or donate designer brands than to take their pocket change.

I’ve sold a number of items here and it’s always a toss up as to what they’ll buy/won’t buy. It seems as though it just depends on which staff member sorts through your stuff. One time I brought in two Coach purses. One was brand new. One was about 10 years old. They bought the 10 year old one and gave back the brand new one. Strange. I asked what the criteria was for clothing and was told that for brands that have dates(Target, Old Navy, etc), it should be just from the year before. Well, yesterday I brought in items that were in really good condition, were listed up on the board as things they’re looking for and were all dated 2012 or 2013. The woman who looked at my items threw them back in the bag so fast it’s like she barely assessed them. Maybe the buy just depends on whether or not the person looking at your clothes is in a good mood or not? I might hold off on shopping and selling here for a little while.

This store is located right next to Ocean World on 86th Street. Simply Chic is like the grown-up version of Plato’s Closet.: designer/mall brands at GREAT prices. You can sell your slightly used clothing/shoes/handbags/jewelry here, too. They buy clothing even if it is out of ‘season’. The store is nicely organized and the employees are generally helpful. Brands I’ve seen: 7 for All Mankind, Gap, Banana Republic, Target brands, Fossil… Jeans are $ 5 — $ 15 depending on brand, leather purses are about $ 20. They have a great selection of dresses, too.
