These pizza places are popping up and for good reason, personal pizza fast and for a good price! I found there were burnt spots on the bottom of the pizza, like the oven needs to be swept out or something. I love the pure cane soda machine. The toppings are gourmet and the garlic butter is a nice alternative to the sauce

Project Pie has become a weekly event for our family! Our son looks forward to it every week! The price per individual pizza is more than fair and the numerous fresh toppings to choose from allow you to try something new each time you visit. If you like your pizza with a salad, try the Pizza Salad. It’s a little messy to eat but it’s really good! The dessert Nutella and banana pizza is yummy! It could use a little bit more Nutella on it but you should get it if you still have room after dinner. Last not but not least, Maddy is great! She always remembers us by name. Can’t beat that kind of service!

The setup of this place makes me crazy. Order with one person. Move down and order again. Then again. It would be a lot simpler if the first person just took the order and then you were done or more like subway where you aren’t giving your full order three times. Even seeing it made in front of me it took forever. I think they are just working out the kinks and the food is very good. I wouldn’t recommend the dessert pizza but if you are patient this place is good n

The pizza is very well done. You create it with whatever toppings you want. Just like subway but better. So many choices. Don’t be afraid to ask for a little more of one ingredient and a little less of another. Be nice to the person making your pie and they will craft you just what you want. I’m hard to please when I eat out. I don’t complain just don’t go back if it’s marginally good or downright bad. This place deserves a look if your a foodie or just want a good pizza just the way you like it. I’ll be going back again.

The pizza here is great and they have really good gluten free crust. I’ve been there a few times in the past 6 months, and usually have had great service(there was one time we went and had extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate service, but most of the time they have good service)

I love build your own places like this. This is basically the pizza version of Chipotle. They have a great selection of toppings for the pizzas and the price is great at around $ 8 for a good sized pizza. The pizza itself was good, but nothing amazing. It was pretty salty and the sauce was just ok. For the price, it is worth checking out for a decent lunch but I can’t say this will be a regular spot for me.

Very pleasant and surprisingly good… bordering on great… food rates 5 stars… the service was about 4.5…ambience was very modern and also understated. .a couple of minor quibbles. .the chairs are not made for 6 foot 8 inch people… and the napkins were not made to clean up even water… we went through over 15 between SO and myself. but the food was over the top… we did not leave there hungry… lol

This is a very fun, hip industrial atmosphere. The pizzas are a great price and rival Napolese for taste. But the price is much better! $ 8.00 for any pizza and no charge for adding extras. The food is fresh and super fast! The sodas are great too! I had the root beer which is made with pure sugar cane. The only downside is that hey don’t offer delivery.

Very delicious! I love the scenery when you walk in. The pizza is literally so fresh! All though I wish you could order bigger sizes.

Very mixed feelings about this place. My pie was awesome, and I liked the general concept, but here’s a few quibbles: 1) one size only. I was dining with my 3 year old who could have enjoyed his own kiddo sized pie and toppings, but since only one option is available we shared. Due to this, and his preference for plain pies, I couldn’t try all of the different toppings they have to offer – and there’s a lot! 2) the hipster soda fountain: I enjoy a good soda now and again, but the only options here are the local flavors via the fountain, cherry, ginger ale, and the likes. While they may be made with cane sugar versus high fructose yadda yadda, they are still crazy-sugary drinks. Not really my fave. Since there are so many great local pizza places in my hood, I’m not sure I’ll head back here unless kid sized options are introduced.

A breath of fresh air from the normal corporate owned pizza chains. Everything is so fresh, unique ingredients, the staff was friendly and awesome and they have local beverages. Supporting local is so awesome! Can’t wait to go back for some more of the Nutella pizza! Love the whole atmosphere and the music was fitting and casual. Thanks guys for a great experience!

1st time visit on a Buy 1 get 1 free. I called ahead to have ready and I was told they don’t do carry out because their pizza’s only take 7 minutes. I thought it was odd I couldn’t order carry out pizza, so I went to the store. truth is — They don’t do phone orders, they do carry out. Project Pie is like subway for pizza, choose your own toppings. I ordered by number and felt the amount of toppings used were not good. no problem i told them to put more(at no charge). Also one of my pizza’s looked bland(#5) so I added chicken– again no charge. Waited for my pizza and noticed several coming out had burnt crust. They person boxing/plating pizzas was checking the bottom of all, but never sent any back. My pizza was ready and the manager was over also looking at pizza, she pointed out my burnt crust to Pizza Oven cook and the prep guy and they proceeded to box it and give it to me– really? So i complained and they made me a new one– it was burnt too. the other pizza i had was burnt on half of it. I know they are new but they sell basically 1 product– PIZZA. no excuses for burnt pizza. There are more positives for Sun King Beer at this place than Pizza

There are so many things to like about Project Pie. There are several types of sauces. They have wonderful toppings(e.g. gorgonzola, prosciutto, fresh basil) and you can put as many on as you want(i.e. you don’t get charged per topping like every other pizza place). The thin crust dough is perfect. They bake it in a rocket hot brick oven and it’s done incredibly fast… like about the time you pay and find a table. The décor is a bit hi-tech/industrial, so it’s not really a place to have a relaxing time with friends and family. In addition, it’s not a great location. But, if you want to get an amazing pizza for an amazing price, it’s hard to beat Project Pie. I think every other pizza place should be worried. Very worried.

«Project Pie» is sort of pioneering the food industry’s fast casual concept within the realm of pizza making with this growing chain of affordable artisan pizza restaurants that got its start in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand and has already grown to include the international market including multiple locations in the Philippines and other locations including the U.K. Still a relatively small chain, Project Pie has the slogan of «Everyday Artisan Pizza — Custom-built by You» and that tells you pretty much what to expect. This location, the first in Indiana, is in a 3-storefront strip center that was recently built in front of the Meijer at 96th and I-69. It’s a modestly sized location, though they offer a few outdoor dining tables and the dining room itself is a fairly open concept with sort of an industrial-lite feeling and a fun spirit. It’s hard not to notice the graffiti-laden wall to your right as you enter that is filled with a variety of inspirational and sort of self-awareness quotes from the likes of everyone from Ralph Waldo Emerson to Ed Sheeran. It’s awesomely weird. The strip center has actual ADA accessible parking spots(Yay!) and appropriate curb cuts. The glass front door is pretty workable. Once you enter, you see a sign that instantly describes how to order — You can basically order one of their usual pizzas, numbered from 1 – 8, and including the option of gluten-free crust OR they have a customize your own option for $ 7.95. They also serve salads and other good s#*!(and yes, they actually have«good s#*!» on their menu!). It made me smile. They serve up Boylan Sodas as their fountain soft drinks along with Brisk Unsweetened Iced Tea(So, yeah, I was happy). Boylan sodas tend to be healthier without preservatives and additives and utilizing pure cane sugar. Perfectly healthy? Nope, but definitely a better option than the mass-market garbage. While I usually customize due to my own finicky nature, I actually ordered a #2 that included Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Crumbled Meatballs, Mozzarella, our signature red sauce, garlic. You do have customizing ability with these, but I decided to try theirs. These are cooked up in a massive clay oven at 600 degrees — it takes usually 2 – 4 minutes was my observation. Yet, you unquestionably get the brick-fired pizza taste. It’s worth noting that they all come in one size and I had no problem finishing off one myself(but hadn’t eaten all day). They typically slice them into four slices, though they actually asked me if I wanted eighths and I did go with that option. The employees were friendly and helpful, though not in a condescending manner. Most of the tables work pretty well with a wheelchair and they are spaced well enough that you shouldn’t have any danger of getting blocked in. While no one actually moved a chair, their chairs were light and I had no problem arranging my table. I also had no doubt that someone would have done so had I struggled — They did actually bring my pizza to me, though I think their routine is that you actually pick it up yourself. If you have had brick-fired pizzas, then you know kind of what to expect. The crust is light, slightly crispy and differently textured throughout the pie. There might be some burn spots, but that’s part of the flavor and I love it. It’s not really thin crust and it’s definitely not anything close to pan… I’d say it’s slightly thicker than traditional thin-crust, though that can also depend on the toppings used. I really enjoyed the pizza. I’m not quite willing to call it the best of Indy, but there’s no question that if you’re not wanting to wait the 17 hours needed for Giordano’s that you can grab a quick meal before catching a flick at the nearby movie theater and have time to spare. While i like the brisk iced tea, I will admit that given they use Boylan for their sodas it would be kind of nice if they’d find a more indie iced tea than the Pepsi/Lipton partnership that produces Brisk. For right about a ten spot, maybe slightly more, you get a positive and energetic atmosphere with a really good pizza and a fun wall that should keep you reading for a while. Be aware that they don’t really have side options other than salads and a couple other things, so if you’re hoping to snag some other sides you’ll be a touch disappointed. However, «Project Pie» is a solid entry into the Indy pizza scene and a great option for those wanting a quick meal without compromising quality.

Project Pie lets you customize a personal pizza for one flat price. They have fresh ingredients, great service, and some unique sodas like Birch Beer and Ginger Ale. Project Pie also serves beers from the Sun King Brewery across the street, adding a local touch to the restaurant. My only qualm with the restaurant is it’s very loud and hard to hear. Sound echoes off the walls, and the noise makes it difficult to order your food and carry on conversation. For people who are hard of hearing or have trouble with background noise, this can be a real frustration.

Ok, so I was pretty skeptical of this place at first but I am now a believer. We stopped in for lunch a couple of weeks back and were impressed just walking in. The décor is very modern. Lots of black, white and grey. The menu is posted at the front door and after a bit of debating, hubby decided on the #2 and I got the #6. As we moved through the line, each employee was very friendly and made sure that the pizza was made to our liking but I agree with another reviewer that they could go a little heavier on the toppings. We got our drinks and a few minutes later we had piping hot pizza in front of us. It was fantastic. The crust was perfectly crispy and the cheese was melty! I wasn’t a huge fan of their drinks though. They are made with real cane sugar and it left a sickly sweet aftertaste in my mouth. I had the Root Beer and the hubby had the Lemonade and we both had the same opinion. We will definitely be back to try out more of the delicious options.

I know it is a chain but please try this place. It is nice to see a pizza chain that treats pizza like it should be art. The place is clean and modern with very nice staff. I tried the margarita pizza and added ham. It was very light and refreshing. The pizza salad was very good, it is a cocked pizza crust with salad and balsamic vinaigrette dressing.

Love the concept and the speed at which you can get a personally made pizza. I would say this is an upscale pizza version of Qdoba. Dough isn’t pressed until you order, add any toppings you want, enjoy there or take away. $ 7.95 and they only have one 1 size. $ 1.95 for fountain drink(with free refills). Fountain drinks are made with cane sugar in small batches so you won’t find Sprite or Coke here. The black cherry was a nice treat. I tried the #8(prosutto, red onion, parm, brussel sprouts, olive oil, no sauce). Great flavor and I didn’t have to order the same thing as my dining partner! I tried it as suggested but they ask if you want to add anything else to it. Very accommodating. My recommendation is to go early in the lunch hour to avoid the long line that was forming when we headed out. Will definately be back to try some of the other flavor combos.

As a project pie vet from San Diego, I had high hopes going in here. I was not and you won’t be disappointed. All the neighborhood classics are here, with the same wonderful ability to go ingredient crazy if you dare be so bold. The pizza, mine was gluten free for a change of pace, was cooked spot on in the clay hearth behemoth oven, like a seasoned project pie pizza cook would know how. The ingredients were fresh and hearty, with ample variety to give you a completely new experience each time, and outstanding freshness and taste. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, explaining to others when needed and extending greetings and goodbyes to new guests. The location itself is nice and chic — well designed and feels«cool». The quote wall gives you ample material to sound wiser than most. Overall, I’m happy for that it’s in Indy, and I hope everyone gets a chance to enjoy a good project pie soon.

As of today, they are officially open! Wahooo!!! I was lucky enough to get to attend their VIP night last week and see what this place was all about. Think: a pizza version of Qdoba, Chipotle, Potbelly or other hot sandwich shop, etc. You go through the line, pick your toppings or a specialty recipe pizza and they quickly bake it(I’d estimate it took 6 minutes) in a brick oven behind you. The pizza is delicious and tastes fresh. I got the number 5 and added pesto and tomatoes to the 4 kinds of cheese, basil, olive oil and garlic already on the pie. I’m more of a fan of white pizzas and I liked that Project Pie had a lot of these to offer. They also have gluten free crust as an option. They also have beer and wine. Beer selection is small but is PBR and Sun King, how can you go wrong? The staff is friendly and welcoming and the GM, Luke, definitely knows his stuff. Here’s to hoping they add more locations(downtown, please) sooner rather than later. For now, Project Pie is definitely worth the drive to the north side.
